    Yes you've made it all so simple. Even the explanation of how the charger works.

    Hi Rich thank you so much for that informative video I too am worried about storing my SL 500 but the way you described it was very simple I’ve just ordered the Cetek on Amazon should have it by tomorrow and I’ll hook it up even though we have pretty good weather I’ll wait up until we get really really bad snow weather then I’ll hook it up thank you so much for the tips

    Similar to a motorhome....one battery for starting and a leisure battery for the motorhome living area when off grid.

    Rich, I read somewhere that the when you when you trickle charge the consumer battery the Mercedes system is wired to also flow to the starter battery and charge that. But that is only allows one direction charging. Meaning if you hook CTEK to starter battery it will not flow trickle charge to consumer. Do you have any knowledge if this is in fact how your SL system is wired? Thanks!

      My understanding (and I haven’t owned my SL for about 2 years now) was that once you connect your CTEK (or equivalent) to the consumer battery then it trickle feeds the starter battery. The starter battery does nothing other than crank on start so it’s always your consumer battery that you need to keep charged/monitored.

    So I have a maypole trickle charger which I attached the negative to the body and the positive on the pos connection. You, I see are using the ponytail connector. Also there is an order to put them on?

    • @FastandFun
      @FastandFun  3 года назад +1

      Hi Nigel, no, there’s no specific order that there is for disconnecting/connecting a battery. You can put them on either order but I leave the CTEK switched off until both are connected.

    I live in a flat in London cant use my wall socket . Any other ideas ? My consumer battery dies over night after 15 minutes of driving everything comes back to life ie full air con ,roof etc .CAN I RUN A BATTERY BOOSTER POWER PACK IN BOOT OVER NITE ON THIS CTECK DEVICE. PLZ ADVISE??

    • @FastandFun
      @FastandFun  3 года назад +1

      Hi, if your consumer battery is failing after 1 night it means that the battery is no longer any good and needs replacing. The consumer battery should last 1-2 weeks. Just make sure that the replacement is a proper AGM battery.
      As regard whether you can put a battery booster power pack in the boot, I don’t know for sure but doubt that would be safe so wouldn’t advise.
      I hope that helps.

      @@nbarrett259 if it’s drained a brand new AGM battery overnight then you’ve got a high drain on the car from somewhere. You’re going to have to take it to a MB specialist or plug an OBDII reader into the car to read the fault codes off the canbus.
