    The main reason I went with a new liner from Pool Warehouse is because of these great, very detailed videos. You took us though every step and I felt comfortable doing it myself, with the help of my wife & son. The sand bed eroded during some thunderstorms while waiting for it to get here, so the hardest part was getting the bed bad in place before installing the liner. We fixed the bed and installed the liner on Saturday, then Sunday afternoon we cut in the steps, returns & skimmer. Everything looks amazing thanks to you guys and these videos!! Thanks once again!!

    Note 📝 ✍️: put water in deep end first 😂😂😂😂😂

    Is the liner normally not tight to the wall and floor until water goes in? Does line stretch ?

  • @RonKroetz

    I noticed that you put the skimmer gasket on early, then again later when installing the skimmer face plate. Does it go in front or behind the liner?

    • @SwimmingPoolKit
      @SwimmingPoolKit  5 лет назад +1

      We always do the skimmers, main drains and light niche this way. We glue them on behind the liner and then again on top of the liner under the faceplates.

    • @RonKroetz
      @RonKroetz 5 лет назад

      @@SwimmingPoolKit so, two gaskets?

    • @SwimmingPoolKit
      @SwimmingPoolKit  5 лет назад +1

      @@RonKroetz yes sir, we always recommend one glued on before the liner is installed and one on top of the liner. We do this on skimmers, main drains and the light niche.

    • @SwimmingPoolKit

      We do when there is about 1" - 2" of water in the deep end. We don't put main drains on our pools so this one did not have main drains.

    Great video! I got floor drains and floor jets do you replace them with the three to four inches of water in it or before water is placed?

  • @ginginthing
    @ginginthing 4 года назад

    This is a well done video and very helpful , but I was also hoping for a lesson on how to trowel the sand back into place. The last liner I had put in by a company ten years ago, all the sand collapsed . It took 2 guys 2 hours to trowel it back into place. Now I'm going to replace the liner by myself, so to me, that was the hard part. All this has to be done before any possible rain comes and the liner isn't put in. Putting the liner in doesn't appear as difficult compared to doing the trowel work and making it right.

    • @SwimmingPoolKit
      @SwimmingPoolKit  6 лет назад +5

      this pool didn't have floor drains, we find that allot of newer pools don't use them to avoid any safety issues. You would cut the floor drains in when you have several inches of water in the deep end. Use the same technique as the skimmers.

      Rookies. Put the liner in the shallow end, put some weight in the corners on the liner, then pull into deep end. You do not need to fill into shallow end to cut in the steps. I cut them in after main drain..the vac will hold liner in place. You only need one guy to put on skimmer and return plates.

    I have a dry niche light. I believe the brand was lumi-o. I want to upgrade to a new led fixture when I install a new liner. Do you have a recommended replacement that will work with this dry niche? Well done video. Thanks

  • @21blackjackdealer

    After cutting everything in, should I continue to use the vacuum while filling the rest of the pool? Or do you think it is not needed?

    • @SwimmingPoolKit
      @SwimmingPoolKit  5 лет назад +1

      You really only need to leave the vacuum on until there is about 6" of water in the shallow end. Once everything is cut in you should be good to go!

    I have installed liners for 10-15 years. We usual have drains in the bottom of our pools. We like to set two screws in the drain (one opposite of the other so we can find the holes and cut it in. we usually wait til the water is 3 or so inches into the shallow end before we do the steps, skimmers, and returns. I have seen my crew put the top step screws into the liner(along with the face plates of course) sometimes when we know the liner is set and lined up perfectly. But this is the first time i have seen someone do the screws behind the liner (like we do for the bottom drain) for the skimmers and the step. Out of curiosity, does this work 100% of the time. As in this has never caused an accident to where the liner needs to be replaced before?
    I have always wondered and wanted to do this, but worried if the liner needs to be moved around that someone would create s hole I'm the liner.

      Also if you guys have the time, i would like to ask more questions for tips and tricks to increase my knowledge on the installations, if there was a number to call for me to discuss these things with someone I would like to know. (Don't know if the 800# is the best one to use for this situation )
      Edit:
      Maybe i should have waited another 2 minutes to finish the video so i could have heard you say to call that 800 number. Lol

    What does "hopper radius" mean?

    • @SwimmingPoolKit
      @SwimmingPoolKit  5 лет назад

      Typically pools with a deep end have a flat bottom are at the deepest point. That flat bottom area is typically in the shape of a square or rectangle. In most cases that box shape in the deep end will have a radius on the corners. We call that radius the "hopper radius"

  • @SteveNunz

    Why not just take the light apart and put the housing of the light back into the niche. Install liner.. then cut in the faceplate and pull light out.. assemble light and put back into the niche w the set screw..same way you do to change a bulb. Don't have to mess w any electric. Also no chance of light cord getting stuck on the bends of conduit

    • @SteveNunz
      @SteveNunz 5 лет назад +1

      Try cutting out small square in the foam where the bottom of vac hose is. That way vac won't suck the wall foam and will have better suction. When cutting in steps just leave inch of material on top of sides under the bead and will allow liner to hang while you cut in steps.
