I'm one of the most loyal customers of Evernote. The only app I have since 2013-2014, I guess. I'm happy to see all the new features. My only request is to keep the pricing moderate or have it more flexible. I personally don't need AI in every app. I LOVE genuine Evernote functionality: search, tags, web clipping, etc
I fully agree to this. I'm personlly member since 2012, and the main thing is to have Evernote, is about the quick, tags and synchronizing of the notes. Please don't add to much calenders, as you have already many calenders where you work with in normal working life as Outlook and Google....
It's hard to justify continuing use of this product with a price increase of 3x over two years (In 2022, I paid $37.09, and in 2023 I paid $52.99. The increase this year will be $129.99)
@@PABackpacker Agreed! It is becoming ridiculous. Used to pay the normal 20-30 USD per year, then more as it increased and so on, but was not happy, will not pay anymore. At the moment I am using the free version of Evernote in conjunction with Google Keep. Soon, will move away from Evernote all together if they carry on the way they do. I bet if they had a 10-20 USD yearly subscription more people will be happy to pay, thus, getting more income, because many people will be happy to pay, no need for AI and useless features in Evernote. The only functions that should work 100% (not like when Microsoft used to own it) should be PROPER AND ACCURATE SEARCH, highlighting the searched word, tags and so on. Just like the old Evernote. The basics only. Updates? Maximum twice a year. Or, make them automatic, not like now, every time you start Evernote, you update... waste of out time. And... Time is most valuable thing we have!

I second this motion. After 12 years of using Evernote, I left because the pricing tiers are so restrictive that I can no longer create a single new note without paying , since my very old account already has more notebooks and notes than the new free version allows.
Customer since 2011. I'm also on the group of people that would love to disable & hide new features until we really need them.
I loved the simpler Evernote.
I want Evernote to have options for turning off every feature that I won't use and I don't want these to bother and distract me and consume screen space!!
I'm happy to pay Evernote with super simple, clean, and fast UIs!!

Thank you so much for everything you are doing everyday. Evernote has been a big part of my life for 12 years. Some bits of feedback:
1: Please let us remove the task and calendar from the navbar. And let us replace it with tags and notebooks.
2: Could you please add a "go to top' and 'go to bottom' button. I have a lot of long notes and in darkmode the scroller on mobile doesnt change color so it is hard.
I don't use tasks or events. Can I hide these buttons?
Can you add the ability to open a pdf in Evernote on the iPad and be able to annotate the pdf with the Apple Pencil

@@megashtyr1 I don't experience speed issues. I'm not a fan of their "try this new feature" stuff, though. It's annoying.

- Option to choose between the current page and the old Home to open the app
- Text to speech
- Kanban mode in tasks

I know it gets tiresome seeing all the 'please make THIS feature' or 'please add THIS function' type of requests - but.....here I go. I've been using AND LOVING the table of contents function. What would be awesome to have is a 'live' table of contents - that, once you add in the TOC< any new headers or sections could auto-update the master TOC at the top. May not be technically possible, but would make the general TOC function more usable and beneficial. Thanks for all the work!

The addition of tasks to calendar and the ability to show tasks and their time slot in the main calendar is truly a "game changer". Tasks now function well across mobile and desktop. Great work!!

Love the table of contents but can you make them auto-updating? I have to delete it and re-create it every time I add a section to my notes.

Add APIs for Tasks please, so a user could sync Tasks from Evernote with external tasks aggregators like Akiflow, for example, or connect to anything else with Zapier. A huge thing for power users keeping them off of Tasks in Evernote.

Love the new features, same as most. I would love some better functionality in the tables. Also the notes seem to loose their formating, a lot. I am having to select all and redo the font and size selection all the time. Thank you for the new features. Love to support software that has not been abandoned.

@@evernote this is already provided by Google Drive app on Android. So currently I take pictures of documents with Google Drive (so I get a pdf file) then I send it to Evernote ; but it is too long. Better to scan in pdf directly in Evernote.
Magnificent work is being done. But one thing in the calendar seems missing - like repeatable events, where we can add repeatable events like repeatable task. Only this is stopping me from shifting from google calendar to Evernote calendar. Do have a look and see if it is a value addition for calendar users.

Can't wait to have a "View and Comment" option in Evernote when sharing and collaborating, as well as real time note version history. Google Docs and Notion still have Evernote beat in these two critical areas. Drag and drop tasks on mobile within Notes and within the Task interface would also be great. As a very long time paid subscriber and fan of Evernote these are long missing, critical improvements that I hope are now on the road map. Thank you Bending Spoons team for infusing all of this new development energy into the platform!

Now that we can see the tasks in the calendar, it would be fantastic to add the start and end times for each task and have them reflected in the calendar. It would help me avoid scheduling meetings during times when I need to focus on my to-do list.

today june 22nd i just signed up for Evernote after leaving and using Notion for over 2 yrs. before that i've was a user for over 12 yrs. I've been watching the changes and have been wanting to jump back in and finally today I did! I'm so happy to be back!!!! we still have some work to do but I'm definitely happy to be back!!! 🎉🖤
Is there any way to cancel the Alt+S key combination? When I type in Polish, in order to type the letter Ś, I need to press right Alt+S. And this combination cannot be changed in the settings. Because of this, it is impossible to work in Evernote.

The thing I'm missing the most through my 10+ years of using Evernote is a setting to open a note at its end/bottom automatically. It takes ages to scroll to the end of a long note on mobile to continue writing where you left off. And you have to do this every - single - time you open it! Most of the times just because of that I leave note editing for when I get back home to my PC just to avoid endlessly scrolling through all of them on my phone. But that defies the main purpose of Evernote - to be able to access your notes anytime anywhere, be it phone or whatever. Yes, at least PC has Ctrl+End, but still, a setting toggle would work better since most of the times you want to continue writing where you left off, so you keep hitting that shortcut/scrolling in every note you click on. And if you'd want to keep it opening notes from beginning you just wouldn't touch this setting. This could be either a global setting of the app, a go to end/beginnig context menu button in the opened note or better - both. I wrote to support about this one and about adding collapsible lists to moble app too, and if the latter was recently added which I'm extremely excited about, then the former - I just don't get why it keeps being ignored. I at least would like a constructive explanation why it isn't rational to add this feature. It seems to me that compared to all of the awesome recent new features - this is the simplest setting checkmark that could be added.
Great!!!! There is an old feature (very old, actually) that was discontinued, which I miss a lot: the Presenter Mode. It was extremely useful for me in virtual meetings.

I also noticed that merging lots of notes is difficult; it struggles to do this.
for the calendar view, we need an option to change the display to see all events. Currently, without having to scroll, you barely see 30% of the day hours. We need the same solution that you did with the home widget "Calendar" -> options -> display as program.
With the current implementation, I regularly miss meetings information because if you don't scroll, you don't see.
I think to bring hierarchy to the notes will be another game changer!

I apologize in advance if this is not the right forum to ask this question but I would really like to know if there is any possibility in the future that a map-feature will resurface? I would like to put names of businesses and their addresses in a grid and connect them to a map. This was possible years ago. If this was the case I could migrate a lot of info from Excel into Evernote. It would be interesting just to know if this is at all in the pipeline cause then I could plan how to handle my workflow. The new Note/Task/Event buttons may make it easier to add something, but 1) they are very distracting and 2) they waste valuable vertical space. Not all users need them ALL present. Please consider making the UI elements in the sidebar optional / customizable, as other users have also suggested.
Overall, please reconsider and optimize usage of vertical space in the sidebar (in the windows Desktop app). Much of the vertical space of the sidebar is wasted for mostly useless UI elements (a single "back" arrow occupies a whole row, "Home" button again occupies yet another whole row, another row with the user name is unnecessarily high, etc).
Now what I really needed (all my everyday shortcuts visible in the sidebar) cannot be visible, and I have to scroll to see them...
Not all users are going to use the app in a 4K monitor...
Other than that, you've been doing great work with the app. Congrats!

Excellent work with the changes. However, I have a problem with the calendars in my Google account. I've been adding some and changing the usage (and name) of others, but the updates aren't reflected in my Evernote. Do I need to sync my Google Calendar account again?

Biggest flaw that Evernote has, is that the waiting tasks are missing. You can only create tasks for yourself, but often you would need tasks for other people or entities that you wait for. Currently I simulate that with checkbox and a widget with a special filter on the startpage.

1. notebook
a. find note in notebook - legacy had the ctrl+f option
b. notebook - sort notes by tags (this option was in legacy)
c. filters (funnel) multiple tags selection not working properly
d. create new notebook while move/copy note (this option was in legacy)
2. notes
a. move/copy note - when copying/moving note to another notebook, to move/copy the tags too (this option was in legacy)
b. image - rotate left/right (this option was in legacy)
3. Stacks -
a. cant drag and drop noteboook from one stack to another (this option was in legacy)
4. inbox - sort notebooks by alphabet (this option was in legacy)
Mobile
1. Notebook list
a. Move notes to same notebook - after moving the first note to notebook => that notebook to be in the top of the notebook list => better and faster UX when moving notes (was in legacy)
b. keep the curent notebook on wich I work on the top of the list of notebooks (was in legacy)
2. Notes
a. move multiple at ones notes to a notebook (was in legacy)
b. Clipping docs/notes - new notebook creation if there are no notebook related to that paricular doc/note - option to be restored (this options was in legacy)
Drag and drop from stack to stack for sure! It's a two step process now. Move out then add too. Could be one step.

I was referring to this feature. Currently if you wish to move a notebook to another stack, one must "Remove it" then Add it to another stack. I would be nice to just MOVE or DRAG and DROP as you mentioned. Hope this answers your question.

Why not just create an NLP entry for creating events. So much more easier, take idea from Fantastical or Todoist.
Hello, I am really pleased to see the updates, thank you. I don't use Microsoft or Google calendars. I use iCloud. When is iCloud two-way syncing for calendars and tasks going to be available? This would be a game-changer.

I use google calendar primarily because I can set multiple reminders for an event.
I would like to see the Outlook calendar to be incorporated with Evernote as well.
Feature request: Interface or integration with Notability on Mac, IPadOS,IOS. Handwriting my notes there is my go-to note taking replacing Penultimate several years ago, and I'd love for you to be able to access their native note with transcriptions etc.

I only use the Evernote Calendar for the occasional Task that needs a note and won't ever integrate my everyday calendars. In Fact... I set up links from a note and puts those into my regular calendar app as its seems not a good use of anyones time to skip around between multiple calendars
Please add the ability to hide DECLINED EVENTS. This functionality is standard in G-Cal and Outlook (Exchange) and helps with keeping the UI clean. Thanks for considering this suggestion.
Will you add password protection for notes? To feel notes more personal and secured
Almost no app does RTL (Right to left text) support. Only One Note comes to mind. I don't mean the interface, just supporting typing in RTL language. This is weird because some elements in Evernote show support such as Scratch Pad but regular note does not.
I suspect it is the case due to Electron Framework.
Very Very loyal and longtime Evernote user. Two issues to please help with. Please bring the former version of Scannable back. Now I cannot choose where it goes. I cannot email it or choose which notebook to add it to. Now a two-step process rather than one. We went backward. Also, about one in ten times, my audio recording disappears. It is beyond me.
Looks good. I hadn't realized I wasn't using some of these features that are now improved. Can you tell me whether sharing the public link will still try to force non-Evernote users to create an account? I had stopped using this because those I'm most often needing to share a list with are not Evernote users, and they wouldn't view the share when it pushed them to create an account first. (This was long ago, so this behaviour may have already been changed a long time ago).

Keeping the goodies, adding new functions - looking at your recent progress I am happy that I kept Evernote. It is getting close to replace most of my other productivity apps as single point of truth. One addition would be nice: the ability to color code tasks and Evernote events.

Is there anyway to turn off the auto-update prompts? I am on a Mac laptop and I am getting this every time I have it open 2 to 3 times an hour even when I have the newest version. I now keep the app closed most of the time not to have to deal with it
I'm a user since 2008 and still love it over OneNote for example. I'm just wondering why the great feature you added a few release ago, TABS, are gone now. Please bring them back.
Am noticing that a task completed in a Note does not (always) synch with the Tasks list. I have flagged this before! Am not sure, it may be repeating tasks!
Tasks and calendar dragging should have been similar to Amplenotes which is so good and intuitive
Is there any timeline for fixing the Search bar in the MacOS Desktop app? I use Evernote ALL the time and have done so for the past 15 years. Every single time I click on the search bar, it jumps as soon as it gets the focus to the "real" search bar (which is about an inch below the display search bar on my monitor). What this means is that I cannot click on the existing search term to highlight it and change it, but rather I have to chase it and click on the "real" search bar search term or switch to keyboard to backspace over the previous search term every time I need to change it.
And I search a lot.
Can we just have the search bar stay where it is when we first click it? I cannot believe this approach passed UI usability testing.

This is all great, all im asking for is editable/changeable cover images for notes. RIght now its set to display wtv your first image you place in the note, sometimes. This does not always pan out to be the case either. Ive placed pictures where the first one will be the cover, only to add more photos, and then one of the later added photos becomes the cover instead. Please, this is all I want. I love everything about Evernote.

Why is it that every new desktop release erases the app from my desktop, so I must manually re-install the latest version? This issue was solved many years ago in computer programing...
Please restore the option for the mobile/tablet app to SORT NOTES BY REMINDER DATE within the Evernote app (like on the desktop version). This is a critical at-a-glance function that recently disappeared. My calendar is already cluttered so this integration isn't preferred.

Can you please fix the connecting of (Google) calendar to Evernote? I've tried connecting to my Google calendar, but Evernote keeps showing only one of the different subcalendars I have within Google calendar. I've tried disconnecting and connecting several times, but this doesn't seem to work. I've reported this a couple of weeks ago but haven't a reply yet unfortunately. Some help would be greatly appreciated!
I also have an issue with Outlook, it says it is connected, but it doesn’t show. Does it actually work?

nice! But do we really need all this features like Task and Calendar as a Evernote-functionalities? All of us business-people have this already in one or the other way, and it would be way more important to extend the integration, and force all your USP-features you have.
It would be incredibly beneficial if there were a way to assign tasks to individuals by name without requiring them to have an Evernote account. As the sole Evernote user in my company, I manage tasks assigned to other team members. Being able to assign tasks to names like Bob, Joe, or Jim, and track them on my end, would greatly improve my ability to follow up and hold staff accountable. This feature would not require the assignees to have Evernote accounts but would allow me to organize and monitor tasks more effectively.
This is the only QoL feature that would make life even more amazing.
could you do the task assignments for individuals with Tags?
@@bloomdds Unless there's a way to add a tag to a task that I don't see, unfortunately it doesn't look like I can.
When creating a task too, there's a section for "Assigned to", but I can't add anyone to it because they don't have accounts, and adding their email address doesn't do anything either because there's no Evernote account associated to that email.
If there's a way to give a task a tag I would love to know how! And thank you for your response :)

friendly suggestion: evernote tasks should have tags as part of metadata.. so you can the To Do list not only by priorities like urgent, but also tags like @home, @work, errand, mom

I'm glad I opened the comments on this video. I've been using Evernote since 2013... 11 years worth of notes and such. I started out on the free edition but at some point (probably around 2015 or 2016) I decided it was a good enough app that I should pay for a subscription. I hate to admit it, but I've had my Evernote Personal on auto renewal and didn't realize how much I was charged last year and was going to be charged in August. I just downgraded to Evernote Free and will migrate the content I intend to keep somewhere else before my current subscription runs out. I love the product, but I don't get $140 worth of value out of it. I also didn't like that I see very dismissive comments from the company here when people complain about the price, but when I went to cancel it offered me 40% off.
When will we be able to publish a whole notebook again?
Please allow us to update when we choose, rather than automatically. Sometimes I just want to open Evernote quickly and make a note, but it takes 1-2 minutes to install the updates before I can even open it. It's extremely annoying. I should be able to choose WHEN and IF I want to install the latest version. I've been a loyal user for years, but lately I find myself liking it less as I have less control over the program.
