Takeaways:
• Notion is a software tool that claims to transform one's productivity and organization skills.
• It combines different features of other software tools such as note-taking, to-do lists, project management, and more.
• Notion's success can be attributed to its simplicity and user-friendliness, which is the result of its founders' efforts to distill the most essential features of existing software.
• Notion is based on three key psychological principles: the Ikea effect, Maslow's hammer, and the metagame.
• The Ikea effect describes how people attribute more value to things they build themselves, which applies to Notion since users spend time building their perfect templates.
• Maslow's hammer refers to the tendency to use familiar tools for all purposes, which drives people to try and solve every aspect of their lives with a Notion database.
• The metagame describes how Notion's user community has created a vast infrastructure of tutorials, events, strategies, and more, which has contributed to the software's success.
you can write these takeaways in notion
@@kennethkho7165 Yes thanks! its a great tool, you need 8 usd month with your brain its free
Some people buy or use apps their idols or generally famous persons use because they think if they do, their life will be transformed. Like setting up an office just like Steven King has. If I only use the same desk and chair my pal Steven uses, a best seller will flow from my iPad.
To be productive and get your thingy done, a pad of paper and pen works well. Most people tend to emulate others and success will never greet them at the door.
That hundreds of companies use Notion means very little to me. I read about corporations using Notion and their logos appear in many other app web sites as well.
Sorry to rant on and on.
@@kennethkho7165 I prefer obsidian

Every time I look at Notion, I think “wow that looks like a huge pain to configure and I don’t feel like doing that.” I guess that’s kind of what they’re counting on: that sunken cost fallacy from having dumped so much time into making it something you want to use just incentivizes using it.
A large part of its selling point might be that it is like a fidget toy for people who crave feeling busy.
Notion is free and you do not have to give up features on the free plan. Millions perhaps use Notion on the free plan and that costs Notion money. Notion is not a pain. If you want a simple note app, Notion gives it to you. It is as complex or simple as you want or need.
Perhaps I am missing your poi t.
Notion is as simple as you want it to be and as complex as you need it to be. I started using it as a simple note app and now run two businesses on it.
People who are shills for apps are weird.
@@AROAH People who dump on apps they don't understand are weirder
Notion is big for a reason. When i found it about it, i wanted to cry because i immediately thought about how freakin useful this would have been if i knew about it back in highschool and college. The organization, the databases, the side-view options to view two pieces of data at the same time, unbelievable. I've got my own customized dashboard now that i know exactly where everything is and where to go when i have a sudden hyperfixation pop up. The three main things you mentioned in the video are true, but i think there's also something to be said about how Notion is just a really really good product. When it works for one's organization method, it works amazingly.
This is a year later, but could you tell me more about the organization part? Wdym? Maybe you could tell about what your organization requirements are
@@charlieburton9610 well most organizations use a few things: communication, database (organising products, etc), some docx sw/plain note taking probably some other projects. Notion now has all of these - it has live chat, comment function, doc editing, can have even the hierarchy of the company built in, nowadays also has some excel extensions and can do marketing charts easily. I dont own a business but I am a student and I use notion database regularly for my readings. Notion first have database that you need in any readings manager but what tbh sets it apart from everyone is quite simple: its fully customisable and it doesnt look like it was built in the 90s. If you know what you are doing, you can really make/manage everything you want there. The hate imho comes mostly from people who just doesnt know what to do in it - because you can basically program it how you want and most people have no critical programming skills. In the negative ways its the same as any other tool - you can spiral into using it too much, but that can be a problem even with simple thing like excel (which is what most companies are a victims of, everything needs to have its own spreadsheet :D).
Notion is like the feeling you get when something is just so practical and convenient that you want to use it just for the sake of it being useful lol
I remember I had so much fun setting up my Notion.
Of course I never used it.
😂😂😂
wondering if that will happen to me. just started using it but other freelance writers use it consistently as a client portal.
I’d be curious how long that took. I’ve programming experience (but not any with databases) and why bother learning motion when I could use eg Things or just an outliner.
@@servantrose Depends on your priorities. If you want utility from it, you'll get it. If you're just building something for the sake of it, adding new aesthetic things once in a while, eventually you'll run out of ways to make it more aesthetic and with it, the interest to keep going.
THATS ACCURATE!
Same here.
I enjoy the simplicity. I’ve switched from bullet journaling to notion

Honestly if not for your pin comment I was already about to write a long ass essay as to how notion had actually helped me 😂. But I see what you didn’t here . And ps this is just a psychological click bait
This guys energy makes his videos fantastic.
I agree! Personaly, I can't use Notion for any planning or todo lists, but I still use it to organise my notes or ideas. Something like a personal website with everything I need. :D
same, I admit that since using Notion, I can organize my worldbuilding better and easier despite my account already have limited storage..... than doing by myself which takes almost a decade 😅
Take this with a grain of salt, because I’m a Notion fanboy - but I think a key reason people love it so much is because of how powerful the relations are. What you mentioned certainly play a part, but leveraging the database relations really puts Notion above and beyond any other productivity tool. I think putting to-do lists and other items into a separate app - essentially in a vacuum - is a huge mistake and a missed opportunity.
I guess it's a good thing I use obsidian then
In a way, Notion became that hammer for me. I could organize everything that I had spread all around the computer into a single place and all that even became searchable.
I replaced random todo.txt files, Word docs, Excel spreadsheets, Evernote's .... notes.
It surely is not great at everything, but it is enough to keep me organized (or at least feel like it).
For most stuff the setup was minimal, but moving the notes with tags was quite the nightmare 😅
I totally get the appeal of Notion, but it is so daunting to get into. Everything being on the cloud meant that it took a while to load what I wanted quickly; making it extremely cumbersome.
Obsidian is a lot easier to get into, but the linking of notes isn't really useful until you get a handful of notes. I did try to get most of my notes on there, but I ended up just using Samsung Notes for everything.
Both Notion and Obsidian are really cool for what they are. But they seem like solutions for problems I don't really have.

You nailed it. Ikea effect + Maslow’s hammer. There’s one more effect, that I might call the Lego effect: if, instead of making a deep, narrow tool, you make a wide shallow tool, like Legos, that lets you build anything with it, that has a real value in its flexibility. Minecraft, HyperCard, pencil, and paper, HTML, and programming languages all have this quality. Having bought a couple Notion templates, however, there is one big caution - it takes a lot discipline to build something that someone else can use.
can you explain more the thought process of adding programming languages into the list?
Programming languages are always specialized and should never be used like hammer. Things you build are not for you but for others so they should be written in proper way. Otherwise we'll have Javascript in boeing...
These are the same reasons that Obsidian is treated in a similar way. But Obsidian is even more flexible and has many many extensions. I've spent soo much time tweaking on both Notion and Obsidian D:
I love Obsidian.
I love obsidian, it's so customizable
@@altertopias I have no idea how customizable it really is. I just know I like it and markdown. I will play with more than just doing stuff. Thank you so much. Very much appreciated.
@@ALulzyApprentice i have gradually added templates and plugins as needed, and now i have something that fits my needs like a glove, really recommend it. for me it has been anything from dataview to simple things to use emojis or format text
What I always suggest is this: new Obsidian users should turn off most plugins and stop downloading countless themes. Obsidian is feature rich but only as complex as you want it to be. Features will be there waiting for you.
Obsidian can be a featureless note taking app or a complex nightmare, so try to reach a comfortable balance and learn the app.
I especially love what you say at the end about notion users going from unproductive to founders 😂😂😂😂 as I'm literally in the process of understanding the nature of my business and using notion a lot to keep track of expenses, quarterly projects and hope to one day upgrade the plan when I'm able to hire an assistant.

Great video on the ‘why’ perspective of Notion- I've been trying to sort this out for a while now. I've circled back to Notion no less than 5 times (and ultimately forgot about Notion shortly after each time) over the past 2 years and just can't get into using it. I've watched tutorials, purchased templates, spent hours trying to set up my own systems within it, and at the end of the day it just wasn't for me. Sometimes I feel like I'm missing out on this “magic” that so many other people find in it, but it's just not for me. At the end of the day it's what works best for you.
I like that you find an interesting and educating aspect to your videos. Really makes you stand out! Quality stuff!
That's what I'm aiming for, glad you liked it!
I just discovered your channel today and your videos are really well thought-out and interesting. Thank you for taking time to make them!
currently im using notion for everything from keeping track of job applications to building my closet database
I clicked so fast :D haha, always thought there is some conspiracy about Notion :D
The consipracy is real!
It's kinda true. You can tell that it's REALLY got into the minds of users in an almost unhealthy cult-like way
exactly what you said but notion kinda worked out for me. in the beginning, my adhd brain found it so attractive. i immediately downloaded, learned all about it and made these very pretty pages. for a whole two months all i did was change it or add new things and never used them. when i was close to perfecting my setup like having everything i wanted over here and finally reaching that level of satisfaction, i took a single glance at my tasks page, it overwhelmed me so much that i deleted everything. well i started again a month later or so, with the simplest setup ever and gradually added more but still kept it super simple. i often tell myself "no changing at all" whenever i am on there. i take out like 2 hrs every end of the month for the customizing. so ya, i have been using it very consistently.
Im obsessed with Notion myself and this video very acurately describes me why so!
honestly, for me it just makes it harder to be productive by planning and organising everything. the notion of, well, organising your notion keeps you in the notion of being productive. for me a sharpie and post it notes does tenfolds
agreed. humans did just fine with Word docs and excel...you literally don't need anything else.
I found your channel a few days ago and feel like I found the ground floor of something that's going to become big! Keep the content coming!
I stumbled upon notion by accident. It’s been an absolute game-changer and I didn’t know how popular it is until now. I love how customizable it is.
I originally started using it just to categorize and store video ideas but now I use it for my every day journal, prayer journal, and more. It’s so great to have a one-stop shop for all this stuff and it can easily be loaded up on any platform and it syncs super well. The iCloud notes don’t sync super well and it’s a hassle to load it up on PC. Notion also saves me a ton of time with letting me create templates and customize everything for maximum productivity
If it wasn't clear, I actually am a fan of Notion and find the way they leveraged these psychological principles in their product so fascinating. I currently use it to manage making these YT videos + having my fulltime product manager job so it looks like it's working!
This video is not sponsored by Notion, but if you want to try it, doing it via this link affiliate.notion.so/enritarta helps supporting the channel if you ever end up purchasing a paid plan!

Thanks - it wasn’t clear to me. It did start me thinking about the time I’d invested in my previous notion system, or my current obsidian system, and my OmniFocus system before both of these - all of which sadly have only given me the dream of being more productive but not the reality. And your video made me look at the psychology of why I might be doing this.

Just one problem - can't notion (verb) offline!
You honestly might've just saved the trajectory of my life by showing this app off. I've had issues with productivity and memory for many years and always wanted a way to organize my routine for optimization. This shit is fucking golden.
I love notion because it can do anything you want, all in one spot. no more having a journal and a calendar and like 10 notebooks I never use, now it’s all together where I’ve put it
I have been using it for 1 year and I could easily see myself using this for a very long time. I started with a simple setup and over time I made it more complex over time.
I love notion for the same reason I love bullet journaling. It’s an adaptive tool that changes with me, that I can customize and be creative with while still being organized and having everything in one place. It’s a dream come true for neurodivergent people. Same with bullet journaling. At this point I think you’re either a ‘notion person’ or you’re not.
I am known as having an obsession with Notion at work and am constantly pushing for us to use it so adds up... but still its really cool and everyone should use it
Great video. I think that there's this fourth factor which is being a central hub for storing all pieces of information that spread all over one's daily tasks. Kind of a solution for the fear of forgetting something.
this made so much sense and it was so entertaining man. It really makes me stop for a second and think how I can use the psychology behind it to my advantage
Wow. I've been trying to use Notion because of the hype, but I've found it to be counterintuitive and I find myself feeling guilty wanting to just go back and making my own Google sheet to organize my thoughts. This video takes that guilt away.
I had a similar experience with Notion, ended up with Obsidian and now it's one of my most essential applications next to Firefox and FreePlane.
If you like a more minimalist approach (and markdown), where the tool doesn't stand in your way in the beginning, it's really easy to start small, just collect all kinds of short notes in Obsidian and get into the more complicated advanced stuff bit by bit or when you really need some feature (and there's a bunch of plug-ins for almost every use-case imaginable).
If you rely on tables a lot, Obsidian might not be the optimal tool, though (there's probably a whole lot of plug-ins and workarounds for simple to mid-level use of tables but that wouldn't exactly make for a simple and easy to use experience for a new user).
You can always go back to whatever worked before for you like Google Sheets. You don't have to get stuck with Notion or other apps. It's okay not to do everything in Notion.
If you try to use notion because of the hype and not really understand what it’s built for and expect it to have no learning curve, then notion is really not for you. Notion’s power is not about being easy to use, it’s about how far you can customize it to suits your needs, if you are willing to put the time to learn it. There is nothing wrong to use google sheet or any software as long as it helps you to get things done and serve the purpose.
its for people who like "make busy" work without actually doing any productive. Humans did fine with pen and pager and word/excel. Many thousands of hyper successful companies used simple Apps to build@@Thekidisalright
I came up with an approach for taking notes, using simply text files and file folders on my pc. I use notepad++ to view the files, and to do searching when necessary. I wish the searching was faster, and I rely heavily on tabs, but otherwise it is sufficient.
You can maybe try Obsidian. You'd just work with markdown files. You can organize with folders, tags, etc. You can have several tabs or panes as well. You can query tags, etc. too.
The last part is so true, If I ever build a startup, I'll definitely use notion for everything there.
I think you are selling Notion short here, I don't think it is just the IKEA effect, but the functionalities themselves that are good, the way notion combines note-taking with related databases, allowing different views of the database, allows the creation of excellent systems where the correct information emerges at the right time, I haven't seen any other to-do app as good as Notion to create a personal organizational system.
Love the analysis! I'm currently unable to live without Notion and all of these reasons explain why. Great to learn this as as UX designer as well!
Do not ever tell Notion's founders that the free version has everything.
limited storage capacity is a big issue when you use pictures in your systems
@@3dvince The limit regards the images' weight, but unless you exceed that limit you can store as many as you want. When it does, I just make them smaller. If you need them big, well in that case you pay.
In any relational database program like Access and Base you start with tables, queries, forms and reports with quaint user interface and somewhat burdensome user experience in getting to what module you want. Notion made this easy with simplicity and aesthetically straightforward for non-programmers to program and set what they like without having to construct modules like programmers do. That's the beauty of Notion.
one of my biggest problems when i started to use notion was how i kept wanting to edit it all the time. I ended up typing a notes at the top, "if it ain't broken, don't fix it." and it's been working great for me cause i spent most of my time on it making changes than actually using it.
Notion isn't perfect, but it's the best cure I've seen so far for the lack of well-rounded programs for organization/planning/note-taking, etc. I hate having to have a thousand tabs open at once to organize my information. I love how it condenses all these services into one program, instead of having to sign up to a bunch of websites that you'll probably forget after one use.
I’ve found Notion to be quite useful but daunting to build a system in. In the end, after figuring out what it can and can’t do easily for me, I decided to use it only for aspects of organising information that fall into a certain level of complexity that is within Notion’s sweet spot.
Anything that is too complex for Notion gets a bespoke solution, anything too simple to bother with, I don’t bother with.
I tested Notion 3 month ago for my personal use and hated it for being awkward. But since everybody on RUclips seemed to be in love with it, me hating it felt king of weird. I thought maybe I didn't take my time to appreciate how cool it actually is. This video resolved my internal conflict and I'm very grateful for that )

Hi, I’m Gaia, a rare italian who doesn’t know how to properly cook a meal too.
I subscribed and fill out your form about how to make a video. I’m very interested in the process behind it. I was looking for Notion Set Up Tutorial then I click on your video because I was feeling it: it was an OBSESSION and I didn’t know WHY. You explained it in a funny way. Now, I don’t know if I’m going to open Notion again, maybe I will do it for the Ikea effect. I’m pretty sure I could create a fancy aesthetically pleasing Notion setup which I would never really use. Let’s see :D
Sorry for my weird written english :S
Its nice that you can use make notion "yours", but it will be theirs, it is a service, and they can take this away at any time
From my perspective I did everything you mentioned in the video (metagame, ikea effect, etc.) but it effected my productivy. I was barely studying 3 hours a day and trying to plan my next week and next month. But never accomplishing any of the task I wrote. When i started to use notion I could all the statistics and it was fun to use and building a page made me feel great, ikea effect.
I love the directness and straightforwardness of your videos.
Notion is to organization, what Excel is to managing data and calculations. It's so fast to build interesting layout that for sure you want to do everything with it. It's the same that happens with Excel. Doing calculations is the minimum effort for the program. You can do whatever you want with it, even managing files or making videogames (it has Visual Basic inside). I'm a devoted user of Notion since before it became mainstream on youtube.
Stumbled upon several of your videos, nice analysis, delivery and presentation!
For personal use and small team project, I love Notion. It could organize my daily activities that I'm familiar with. For a large and enterprise, it's not really suitable. Because I've had one incident that Notion just went down that day. And the entire PM works is lost
I started using it properly yesterday and yes I can concur you can drown in setting up instead of being productive, and you might try and be smart by saying you will use free templates online but that's when the Metagame creeps in. Perfect video bro 100%
Your videos are produced really well. A lot a continuity across different videos makes it nice to watch your videos in a sequence. Also, de editing skills are definitely there.
I've done the reverse of what you've said here. I've gone from a dedicated task manager to Notion simply because with Notion, I can view my ToDo list in as many ways as I want. Notion's primary advantage is that it's a Rapid Application Development tool. With dedicated task managers, you're locked in to whatever they give you.
This video is SO freakin' well done. I got on the notion train 3 years ago when the hype was rising. At first it felt very overwhelming. But as I kept playing with it, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of pride in what I had built (even though it's really not that impressive lol). Thanks for making this video!
I fell into the Notion vortex realizing soon enough that my task management was doing great with Things 3, and that my digital filing system was working great with Evernote (which I've been using for over a decade) both are those dedicated apps you mentioned. Why would I transfer my to-do lists, my PDFs, my uncountable Docs and Notes to an unknown, harder-to-grasp app, when the ones I'm using work so well? Yes, Notion is a very good-looking, appealing app and I'm sure when I run into the right situation it can prove very useful.
Very interesting concepts the Ikea Effect and Maslow Hammer. I did like learning about those! So here's my like my good man!
I really like notion for the cloud based database aspects without any infrasture needed. I totally agree, It's not great for tasks since it doesn't have great recurrance, reminders, etc.
But it does. You can set a task to be recurrent how you want it to recurr, put reminders on it, setting the date, hour of the reminder.
If I'm not wrong, you can make it send you reminders through Gmail as well. Havent tried it, but yeah.
It does, I set up reminders and daily tasks that update itself in the calendar every midnight on the days I want it done so when I wake up I just need a glacé to see what I need to do, it’s completely automated all I need is to check them once they are done.
It’s wild that you don’t have more subscribers, great video again Enrico!!
Awesome video!
(and the fact that Notion is the opposite of productivity tool is the reason why I stick with Apple Notes for quick notes and Skiff Pages for markdown notes)
Your channel is a seam of hidden gems! So glad to see you taking off! 😊
Good video. I'm a recent convert to Notion and this was really illuminating about why I like it so much.
Thanks a lot for your work, this video made me understand the background of Notion no other video has made me. Also the hint with TikTik made me understand, that my thought learning to use Notion properly or spending money and time on courses is also not necessarly for my current situation, so I'm very glad to found this video. Keep up the good work Mate!
Subway also uses the IKEA effect and the fun part is if you don't like the food you can't even complain because you made it 😅
Notion is a pain but I love it. if you need to collaborate, schedule, and do tasks. use your iPhone. reminders, calendar, texting. stop emailing. stop using a software, use your phone, you are already on it.
I hate using 30 apps for productivity. So I admired notion. After notion I tried Obsidian. After that I went analog. Finally. One nice big calendar. Only my CRM stayed digital. And my email.
@@ballooneyjr4294 maybe I totally misunderstood the concept of notion. It was advertised to me at the one solution to replace almost all the other productivity apps.
That’s not the case, at least for me.
I think notion has two advantages :
To create some kind of personal or internal wiki, plus you can use it as a simple blogging CMS.
Depending on the usecase of the website, I would rather go with Hugo or Ghost.
Also, I don’t need a wiki but a nice haptic notebook and a nice ink pen.
I feel like notion is much more complicated than it needs to be and less intuitive for people who want a simple system. I can see it being good for certain projects (like tasks) but right now I’m finding it hard to organize my thoughts and actually get things done rather than taking notes just to take notes…
There are way more than a hundred note apps out there for Android. Most are the same old thing. Many note apps for WIndows and Apple/iPad. There are not as many for Linux, however. Perhaps Notion is complicated because people want more than a simple note app.
Notion and Obsidian are both very simple and complex. Use Notion to make simple notes or add complexity. Notion is the simple app you seem to want but you can do more with it as you learn more about it. You do not need to make a database, afterall.
@@robertmaxey5406 Thanks for the suggestion, maybe I’ll be using notion for planning and projects and some other for a knowledge base.
If you want a simple straight forward software to do simple tasks then notion is not for you. One of the most used feature about notion is it’s automation that let the app update and organize with minimum input once you set it up. It’s made to be tailored and personalized to suits your needs exactly the way you want it, that’s why it requires you to dive in to learn the features so to help you, and it never ask a single cents from you nor it has ads in it.
@@Thekidisalright I think you are wrong. Notion is indeed simple and good for making simple notes. I used it this way for some time. It has advanced features but you do not need to use them. Notion is as simple as Microsoft Notepad or a scrap of paper and pen.
Notion is the digital equivalent to bullet journaling. The Hype works for both in the same way.
I'm glad that I never heard of Notion until I saw your video
This is an incredible oversimplification of why people are obsessed with Notion. Of course to some extent, these psychological principles absolutely but it’s not why people are obsessed. For those of us who have 8 different notebooks, notes scattered through our phone, 12 apps where we keep content that we constantly refer to, multiple creative projects, and more to keep track of Notion quite literally is the game changer people claim it to be. The reason is because it’s built like a wiki and most of the other software the founders set out to replace are built using a static database on the backend. You’re literally building a personal and/or professional wiki for your life. Everything is able to link back to itself, pages nest, there are pages, the pages can be as long or as short as you need them to be etc. It’s certainly not perfect at or the best for every single job, but it really is great for a significant portion of them for a lot of people and the best part is that if it’s just you and you don’t mind the upload size limitations, it’s free.
I use Notion mainly for note-taking, project and goal management. I prefer to use other apps like Tick Tick as a todo list cause its way easier for me to quickly insert a to-do on the go. I'm aware that there are probably better apps for the former things I mentioned, but I like my digital workspace to specifically how I want it. Notion provides the customization that I crave and its free version lets me accomplish my needs.
Same 👍
Very nice presentations and motion graphics! But I'm old school analogue with all the post-it notes stuck to the wall in front of my desk. I sometimes even use my windows as a white board to draw diagrams, lists of tasks or ideas.

I'm actually obsessed with Obsidian, highly recommend for anyone who wants something bare bones and can be really fun to learn! I use both, but am finding myself immersed more into Obsidian and slowly migrating to it.
I did a deep dive into Notion, and then decided not to use it because I saw dozens, maybe hundreds of complaints that people lost all their data, either when trying to sync, or updating something. Also, it didn't seem to act the same way on different devices. And maybe wasn't even available on all the platforms. There seemed to be no guarantees about reliability. And IIRC, at the time there was not an option to sync to the cloud service I use. This was last year. So maybe everything is different and better now. I can't remember if cost factored into my decision.
Love the storytelling!
Yup, capitalizing on making people feel productive without actually doing anything. Genius idea.
What I'm showing is definitely an exaggeration to make my point: I actually really like their business model!
AWESOME and informative video, Enrico, thank you!!
I learned that I really enjoy my time tracking app and I don't need Notion. If I want to put more detail in my to-do list, I'll just use my bullet journal/memory keeper dot grid notebook, simple.
you're not a sellout, GOOD video 😎
I started using notion because of a RUclips video, now I'm using it basically everday day. I don't use most of it features, the thing that I enjoy the most is creating pages and sub-pages related to a topic, concepts or ideas, but all simple without templates (I always end up editing the pages myself).
For quick reminders and to-do's, I use my phone most of the time.
But you know what's funny? When you get confortable editing/styling notion at the same time that you write something on a new page, it's HARD not to sell notion to anybody, my classmates probably hate me every time that I talk about notion.
Bruh, you’re breakdown is so spot on, brilliant assessment. You are 💯 correct.
Currently my favourite creator on yt
Same for me 😍
Damn, the thing about the ikea effect is definitely true! Thanks for the great video :)
The lego analogy perfectly describes how I've felt about Notion and similar apps. The temptation to configure can easily get in the way of actually using the damn thing!
Cool video. I agree with you to a certain extent. 100% of these tools are only as great as the user. I enjoy notion. The idea behind it shows there’s no ceiling on what it can be. I also appreciate that it’s constantly evolving. The automation and a.i features can help people achieve more under one roof than using 10 other apps
This video is so hilarious but so surreal and painfully honest lol
The Last thing was really a truth I didn't notice that but when you said I realized that.
Hey Enrico, I don't comment on youtube videos (ever!) but I wanted to put the effort in to give you a shout out. You've found a nice niche in the youtube community and I really want to emphasise that I think you should stick with the current content in it's style and presentation, you're doing an amazing job!
I'd never heard of Notion when your video hit my feed, now I feel like using it.
If I had to guess it is just a simple snowball effect. You get a certain critical mass of marketing and investors and it barely matters what the product is. Notion seems to have just put a bunch of products that already exist into the same place. It is a time sink if you already have your things in order and like you said you may find that you simply prefer the organizational strategy you were using before. I'll look into using Notion if I ever start a team but there could already be something else better for teams.
Good stuff
Thanks Ali, really means a lot coming from you! (I am based in London too, would love to link up)
1 like and one comment, lemme fix that!
