I started using this and putting all my to do on my to do list and it has helped me so much. Using my Google calendar in the past week gas given me free time so I really think that this was good info so our brains are not overwhelmed.
My life is so simple that I do not need a calendar. A simple reminder or an alarm clock is sufficient. My life consists of five days of studying at school and two days of studying/resting at home with no surprises and off-the-schedule activities. Since I am a Ph.D. candidate, other than reading papers and doing experiments, and trying to write papers of my own, I have no course need to attend to. Great video Ali on what works for you. The David Allen "Getting Things Done" was the most effective book i've read to develop my own systems that suits me. Highly recommend for everyone to read that book and develop their own productivity systems that works for them. For me im pen and paper, outlook, and onenote. thats it.
Ali mate, your tip to use "Unsubscribe" keyword to delete emails while recommending newsletters to keep track of good content contradict each other because newsletter need an unsubscribe button as a legal requirement. Not a big deal but thought it might worth mentioning :)
I’d like to keep my personal to dos and content separate from my corporate work stuff. When I’m not at work I don’t want to see my work stuff! Anyone have thoughts on how I can keep things separate and still use Ali’s system?
This is fantastic, really great video, very informative and structured. Although my main thing is that currently I'm looking for a tool that allows me to connect all these components together. Something like Notion or Motion. Also I have ADHD so I need as much AI assistance as possible. I'm smart so I do trust in my capabilities to build something from scratch like in Notion, but really what I want is something where I can quickly brain dump and it does a lot of the sorting for me. I like the idea of motion because it uses AI to adapt your schedule based on your to do list, but I do want something a little more advanced. I probably just need to tinker a little myself to really know what works, but I don't want to waste time building a system forever just to realise it's not for me. I want to get as close as possible from the start. Do you have recommendations? Happy to use two but would like them to integrate. Main thing is I want to do lists and my calendar to sync. Then also having a function for budgeting and outlining bigger goals and then breaking them down. I don't know, just an easy tool for a brain that is wired in tangents and need cross referencing...
I notice that you've short file naming. My whole life is also supported by most of the Google apps. To share, i named all files starting by [date yymmdd follow by project name] so that it can always be sorted "numerical" in specific sequence 😊
Next to productivity in the dictionary is a picture of Ali because he is the personification of productivity 😁Thanks for sharing these levels to help get my life in order. 🙏🏽

Yay, I just ordered the books can’t wait for the workshop in January.
Another brilliant video by Ali. I stumbled on this channel not too long ago. Although I was already doing a couple of things here and there, I find that i'm optimising WAAAYYY more of my time right now! Thank you Ali and his team
So easy to find things to read. Just scrolling down my Linkedin feed, I find osm much useful content especially from academic and business journals
dude your videos are AWESOME. Kindle app really is a game changer for me. Love your content.
love the minimalist way your videos always look🔥
landed on this video because I need help...I saw that there were 4.37m subscribers and was like...HOOOW!?! And within 60 seconds...I had my answer! FANTASTIC, and thank you so much for this man! You deserve every bit of future growth you'll experience in your life.
17:54 *...might switch to Obsidian...* wait, whaaat!? 🤯 I’m excited! Would love to see your take on Obsidian and how you use it!
That moment when he said that so fast that even after I replay 17:54 multiple times, I kept missing it. After awhile, I finally caught that. Lol XD
That is pretty cool though, he said second brain and obsidian actually advertise themselves as second brain, and for good reason too. Lol XD
I found his channel very helpful. Came out on my feed and listen to it. Now I’m fanatic
The best and simple Productivity System is
Emails- Desktop Outlook. Much more feature rich, user friendly and searchable than Gmail.
Calendar- Google Calendar
File Storage- Google Docs
Journaling- Penzu
Data File Cabinet- OneNote
ToDo List- Google Calendar
Major Project- If with team than Trello or alone- Google Calendar
I've been bashing my head against a wall trying to figure out the best system that fits me and this is it... Thank you for saving me so much time 🤝
Best YT channel. I love his all methods.
Can't wait to hear more about your thoughts on Obsidian as a Second Brain!
I find your references to Harry Potter, LOTR, Pirates amazing and hilarious!!! I love your relatability- like I'm not the only one that gets caught in bad habits lol
so excited to hear your thoughts on Obsidian, Ali :)
You are doing an incredible job Sir, really really love the content you put out time and again:) You are very amazing...thank you so so much for doing what you do!!! Lots and lots of love and support from my side💙😇
Ali, you have taught us how to study efficiently and how to work productively. Now, could you make a video about how to relax efficiently?
haha relaxing isn't about efficiency
Watching this actually makes me relax because I am implementing how to be productive:) that is how I relax lol
@@aliabdaal Yeah but who would have associated productivity with morning routines either until you made a video about it?
On a side note, I heard 20 min naps during day are good? May be you can look into that and make a video about relaxing throughout the day while being productive 😃
“有效地放松”太搞笑了你这句😄
Your videos are amazing, Ali! Thanks for sharing!
Cheers from Brazil!
Have been bouncing back and forth between notion and obsidian. Can't wait to see what you have to say about obsidian! Maybe it will help me make a final decision 😅
Great video Ali on what works for you. The David Allen "Getting Things Done" was the most effective book i've read to develop my own systems that suits me. Highly recommend for everyone to read that book and develop their own productivity systems that works for them. For me im pen and paper, outlook, and onenote. thats it.
Level video. I understand how much you have worked for this. Awesome channel will go to 12 million subscribers.
Love your work across all platforms, loved your systems Ali!
The best person in this whole productivity space!!!!!!
I don't know, just an easy tool for a brain that is wired in tangents and need cross referencing...
the spark of happiness in Ali Abdaal is so much more than before.
I notice that you've short file naming. My whole life is also supported by most of the Google apps.
To share, i named all files starting by [date yymmdd follow by project name] so that it can always be sorted "numerical" in specific sequence 😊
Oh God, that is such a beautiful idea. Thanks 🙏
Talking about productivity whilst sitting on the ground in a cross legged position. This guy is the REAL DEAL!
Next to productivity in the dictionary is a picture of Ali because he is the personification of productivity 😁Thanks for sharing these levels to help get my life in order. 🙏🏽
The number of times "on the toilet" was said in the video is staggering. Gold star video 🌟
Imagine watching all these and nothing still changes
This might be the best vid I’ve ever watched! About to go into Med School and this is a huge help

I love that you relate it with Harry Potter. I'm a HP fan too! Thanks!
this man probably changed so many ppl's life. Godsent imo
there's plenty of amazing information in here. thanks for helping me stay motivated!
Great advices here! I'm really grateful for finding your content that allowed me to finally start a Tech RUclips channel myself. Thanks and have a good day!
But if you set up a filter to the word "unsubscribe", you'll actually miss all the newsletters like Morning Brew from where you get ideas on what to read...
Haha was looking for this comment. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed :D
Loved the video and the way you categorized it .....💖💖💖
