i mean it does have its value... but i wouldnt say this or that vehicle is OP... flares are surely not! A good pilot just knows how to avoid, thats where either more teamplay or the rpg comes in handy 🤣
air combat was perfect in the beta flairs had a failure rate (if you were too close the flare didn't have any effect) pilots had the potential to dodge/defeat missiles if they weren't fired from a good angle they were over all balanced and fun to play with Then they PUSSIFYED THE HELL OUT OF IT and COPPIED BF4 missile mechanics word for word. gave aircraft enough flares to dip outa any situation then made missiles work like that whistling arrow from the blue headed guardians of the galaxy guy. and on top of that most aircraft have more hit points than some ARMORED GROUND vehicles
ah man, its def. not the only one, but one that works for SURE 🤣 AA measures are actually quite viable (literally there is a railgun tank if all else fails) also stingers can diminish the area a chopper can operate in... its worth a shot if you liked the other battlefields
@About9fish is right, they can work pretty good if you have even just ONE other person using the AA on a dif part of the map. As a 50/50 pilot/ground player, those flares absolutely DO NOT spawn fast enough if you have just 2 ppl hunting choppers/jets. This is why they fly so low, they're desperate to stop gettin painted constantly from dif AA's while waiting for new flares, which then leads to this vid & the "GIT GUD" method of RPG'em low!
I mean yes, the guy is absolutely right. Lock ons do absolutely nothing other than making you a primary target, The pilot is forced to full focus you because you will lock on again when they already popped the flairs. Kinda weird but I learned this while playing with bots (AI) and they constantly shoot you out of the sky with rockets on all difficulty levels. A good alternative is miniguns if you can use them, works good on lighter helicopters but can bully heavier ones as well.
If I might add something: The wildcat is fsr from the only vehicle with AA capabilities. A TOR tank can be ridiculously good against air targets if you mind your surroundings and gun elevation you can shoot down ANYTHING. If you want to play something even funnier to take out air, use a Bolte with magic missiles! Nobody uses them, so no one sees them coming! And the best and most hilarious part is that they lock onto helos in stealth🤣
Having to use an RPG which is really hard to hit does not prove your point of Anti-Air "working" its proves further that any skilled pilot will never get shot down thus making air vehicles simply overpowered.

I.e Very close so they dont have a chance to react, or may they are already engaging another target and have only 1 -2 rockets left. Always try to do it near cover as well. Also, the best time is to wait until they have dispesed their flares. Somtimes i hide ontop of hills are areas where i have seen then retreat whilst waiting for the flare cooldown. Anti aircraft strategy needs to focused on if thats what you are doing. Just trying to lock a chopper by change when you are doing other things will lead to bad planning and death

I've been saying this for awhile now, any conventional AA is useless in this game, they are so useless I wouldn't complain if DICE removed them from the game completely, DO NOT USE CONVENTIONAL AA. fish already put 2 obvious ways to take down AA in this vid but I do have a few others although they can vary in effectiveness. 1: the TOR is pretty effective but if you don't kill the heli/jets while they are far away ur kinda fucked(might help if you have an irish) 2:Latv with 20mm AA cannon is ok aslong as the heli pilot doesn't notice what you are doing and stays within 200m of of you(more effective if you have a teammate driving for you) 3: something kinda unconventional I've done is take a pondhawk+crawford+igla and hunt helos down that have wasted their flares, in this case you can force them to waste their flares and they cant really run away from you because you can chase them. to take helos down in this game you have to be really unconventional because any conventional means of taking them down is easily countered.

Not possible to clear without your own aircraft. And failing to do so results in a spawn trap. Game sucks
