AC compressor was the only good thing on this engine. It was overhauled and fixed. Then failed again. I believe it was a failed integrated vibration damper on the crank
This is why I've been looking at other vans as a first van. Everyone Says engines go on forever etc. Yet I keep reading enginee been rebuilt at --- miles, new engine fitted, has new turbo, drive shaft blahdeblah etc etc. Wtf!!! Looking at alternatives like a Toyota Hiace instead now.
I'm afraid I've already jumped ship after our new engine went after 2 years, got a 2013 2.2 ford transit now. Feels just as pokey. Little less refined, but engine parts are easily available very cheaply. Good luck.
Sorry it broke Dan, you must be annoyed after all the expense. Some of your earlier videos were of great help to me, I have a 2005 AXD which thankfully works fine. Good luck with the sale.

@@DanSohan I'm a long way from getting anything ATM. Not got much use out of our GTi yet because of lockdowns and stuff. Only had it 19mths

Yes, gone now. 2013 transit now, with nothing to fix for 3,000 miles so far
@Luckyadam331 I had to change the reverse light sensor this year. £25.. still have flash backs to the T5 days

Cheers, dont want to swear on here, but we're trying our luck with a transit next time. so will be plenty of rust repair vids ect coming!
