Hi how many bundles did you used??
@@bbeautykreyol5158 I bought 5 bundles but didn’t use all of them. I will advice you to get more bundles then you would need, it will safe you a lot of time picking strands of hair. You don’t want to feel like you are running out of hair while doing this because the density of your locs won’t be uniform. I would also advice you to get bundles of different lengths. If you want your locs to be 12inches long, get bundles longer than 12inches. This would enable you braid the desired length of each loc without having to add more hair at the end which can cause bumps on your locs or slippage.
For context, my natural hair is type 4c, about 6-8cm and medium density.
I got a 14, 16, 18(x2) and 20 inch bundles. I have 458 micro locs done over a period of three days. They are very small and lightweight. Loving them so much!

Now you have to do a maintenance video on these! I can't wait to show you mine! I am soooooo hoping mine will look as good as yours but in gray! I am doing this because I swim 3 time as week. I need a style that I am not blow drying, curling , etc. that often. Plus my type of hair does NOT do twist out styles!

@@LeyLocs grabbing my hair just to start the braid. My hair is very slippery when it has been freshly washed and dried. It doesn't kink up until it is dirty and very very dry. I can do them on someone else and on mannequin but not on me. I got frustrated and had my hair cornrowed. I am putting them in that way. So they aren't tiny but I can live with it. I am going to email you a photo of what my hair looks like without the braids and with the ones I am putting in.

Thank you. I am an loctician in Gary , In & not only have I been asked do I provide this service but I’ve been thinking about trying micro locs because I have a thinner baby soft hair. My traditional locs always look crazy frizzy and over it sis.. I’ve tried to instant loc it but the hair is really soft. Ughh but thanks love I’ve subscribed you’re literally the GOAT! (PS: I can’t braid neither lmao & I do extensions)
🤗 thank you! Make sure you watch the updated twist version which prevents a lot of slipping that happens with softer hair.

I've got really thin hairs all around my edges including the back.
Can you use synthetic temporarily, then take them out once hair has reached desired length?
Sure you could do that
I started my last set of locs like that and I’m currently parting my hair to do the same again. It’s so easy and looks good while your hair grows. I kept it neat by washing and interlocking.
Great video! What happens when the hair grows out and the „thin“ natural hair becomes its own loc? Won’t there be bump and you’ll see the difference?
Yes the natural hair will loc, the twisted hair will loc and it’ll look like a seamless loc. There may be a small bump but adding the least amount of hair you can will minimize the bump

Love your videos. Can you start permanent loc extensions with this install method? My hair isn’t thin but it’s short. I’ve seen your other loc extension methods and this one seems like it’d be the most secure install for me. I order 16inch hair so I’m not worried about securing length. I want to be sure before doing all this work, lol. TIA🙂

Is there anything special that you’re doing on these micro twist vs if someone just wanted micro twists without it eventually becoming locs? Do you have a retest update with this lovely lady. Her hair is very similar to mine
Not necessarily instead of considering the loc part ratio and having the this is it being permanent. I have a shorts video with an update but currently she have removed the extensions because her natural hair grew long enough

So would you traditionally go for retwist as if they were natural locs or does this require an interlock upkeep if that makes any sense like how do you maintain them as they grow?
You could do retwists. I personally prefer interlocking
I’m ready to order. Do you know if the 12inch they have is actually 12 or are all the bundles pretty much the same? This is making me nervous bc I’ve seen ppl say that they ordered longer lengths and it’s all still around 8inches.
Hey! Yes the 12 inches are truly 12 inches with some shorter pieces
Ordered a longer length, it will not be only 8inch, please rest assured. In fact, you can make different lengths of hair according to your needs

Yup! Look into spring twists. You might like those. No need to use human hair for a temporary style

So after an install like this how long do you think you should wait before you attempt to dye them?
You should be able to dye them immediately. Just prepare a little slippage because coloring hair will soften the texture. The hair will noticeably begin locking after 6 months

I am doing this method on my hair. I wanted to know if I do them a little smaller than what you are doing will it still give that full affect. My hair is thin in the crown, but I want them tight
Yes the will still be full but don’t make them too small. Think about your hair’s health
Just got my twists install with grey human hair extensions. They are major dry and even wetting them only makes them damp them almost immediately dry out. What can I do?
You could try a water based leave in conditioner. But keep in mind, Locs are a dryer style
@LeyLocs Thank you. I actually ended up dying most of the gray loc twists black..then followed up with a little rose water spray and a dollop of a loc gel and oil. Just a little bit. It worked

You can palm roll

You can like you would take out box braids or twists but they’ll start the locking process at about 2 months

I would say the texture is closely enough the same. Vivica fox bundles are slightly looser

My install happened on 9/5 and she used Afro kinky bulk hair using two strand twists at the root to start my locs. Do I take this out eventually? I do have some unraveling going on. But nothing I can’t handle.
No you can leave them in. Years down the line they can can cut out if you want but they’ll be locs
I have one other question maybe I missed it the other videos. Do you wash the hair before you install the hair? Did you wash the loc extension after you made them or before?
Yes I like to wash the extensions after I make them and before I install them in someone else hair. I wash them in a apple cider vinegar and water mix to make sure there’s so chemicals in the hair that causes allergic reactions

I just purchased the hair using PayPal and the company name came up in Chinese characters like the over seas wig shops. I doubt this is a black owned company...
Exy hair is not blacked owned, didn’t say it was but it is my vendor that I use to purchase my Afro kinky bulk hair
You might be referencing the USA based part. The company is a Chinese company with a warehouse in the USA

I'll keep watching your videos and supporting your channel because I like your work, but I'm looking for a different place to get my hair.
@@mrsrussell everyone gets their hair from China. My vendor is cheaper because you get it straight from the vendor but if you don’t mind paying more, braidsthatspeak on Instagram and Macon Styles are a few black on businesses that sell Afro kinky bulk hair.
