@@SeanChandlerTalksAbouthey Sean, I just had a thought, would you rather have, MK Beetlejuice 2 or JD Edward Scissorhands 2, which would you like more.
I can't wait for this!! I was born in the 80s and grew up watching the original film. I'm so happy they are using so many practical effects again and not so much CGI. I'm also an OBSESSED Winona Ryder fan, so I'm stoked to see her in such a major role again!
You guys are killing me over here with the "not so much CGI." There's CG all over this thing. I mean did we watch the same trailer? I guarantee there will be hundreds of VFX shots in the movie. The bug on Beetlejuice's desk was CG, so was the smoke in the waiting room, the lighting, the wall explosion, Beetlejuice's face contorting, the sandworm shot, etc. are all clearly CG. Please stop ignoring the below the line people who do painstaking work for third world wages. If you enjoy movies you should give them as much credit as everybody else. There is a ton of VFX in this trailer this movie. Let's just be honest about it and acknowledge the work that these artists put in
I literally saw the Beetlejuice musical for the first time last night, and I didn’t know this was coming until less than 2 hours before the showing. It got me pumped for this, and I don’t think it disappoints.
Hot take: Legacy sequels in the past 10 years actually have been able to match or even surpass the quality of the originals they spring from. Look at Mad Max: Fury Road, Blade Runner 2049, or Top Gun: Maverick! They are all better than their originals and fit right in at the same time. I think this has all the right pieces in place to be named alongside the great legacy sequels of the past 10 years!
In my heart, Michael is as beloved for this role as he is for Batman. The original Beetlejuice movie was released the year before Keaton’s original Batman movie was. It was Michael’s performance as Beetlejuice which convinced Tim he was the correct actor for Batman.
Tim is using the Beetlejuice animated series as the backdrop in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.🤙I have always love the Beetlejuice cartoon from day one debut.😍 Beetlejuice Beetlejuice awesome.🤘
I would have more reservations but Burton did successfully direct several episodes and oversaw the new Wednesday series which by and large is his best work in the last 15yrs, so I am optimistic more so here than I would have been.
This film has Tim Burton's B movie charm to it and it looks like a REAL Tim Burton film not a Hollywood Burton film. I can't wait for this film. Will be there day 1. Keaton still has the ghost charm.
Ironically enough 36 years ago he did Batman and beetlejuice then 36 years later his take wanna see me do it again phenomenal actor I really think it’s gonna be amazing Sean I have such high hopes Michael Keaton is just so good
Grew up watching the film. Burton is one of my favorite directors and Beetlejuice is one of my favorite films of his. Zero expectations for the sequel cause i would have wanted a sequel way back in the day. I'm more looking forward to Sean's ranking so i can hear his thoughts on Burton's filmography.
I haven't watched the original Beetlejuice quite yet, but I'm still excited based on the fact that some major cast and crew from Wednesday worked on this too.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is my most anticipated movie of the year, Tim Burton is my favorite film director of all time and I feel that he wouldn’t be directing this if he didn’t like the story
Anxious to see your Tim Burton ranking! He's never been a favorite of mine but I don't hate him. Big Fish is probably my favorite of his, and I don't know if I'm on an island with this, but I really enjoy Miss Perigrine, that's a frequent watch in our household, almost like Burton's take on an X-Men story.
I respect you being true to your real opinions, but I gotta say, for myself, I'm not here for the reservations. If it's bad it's bad; fine. We move on. But - Tim Burton is revitalized since Wednesday. MK has gone from strength to strength since Birdman in 2014, and is clearly in his element here. The vibe of the trailer is so joyfully macabre. My take: this movie will "eat that" like a ripe banana (in all the good ways)!
I hope this movie isn’t taken overly serious with a massive in depth plot line, I’m hoping for just a simple sequel with Michael keaton being beetlejuice and prioritising making the film a comedy like we all remember the first one to be😊
I just saw the trailer RIGHT before this video and I am HIGHLY looking forward to this film! I loved the original enough to get it on 4K! I never really got into the animated series but I remembered watching Beetlejuice..... on Disney Channel in the late 1990's/early 2000's.
I was 10 years old when I saw the first movie and loved it. It was my first “weird movie “ as a kid. I don’t think Tim and Michael would do it again if they didn’t have a solid story. It was rumored for decades until recently.
My favorite movie of all time is beetlejuice and I am beyond excited for this film, however I feel the same as you do with skeptical feelings and films that have long awaited sequel tend to not do well but regardless, September let’s go!!!!
He shares the same concerns as myself. Tim Burton isn’t good anymore. BUT he stated that he had total freedom on this movie as he did not in the last 20 years. Other than that, I’m very excited for BeetleJuice. What’s next? Edward scissor Hands 2?
Those sand worms and the office scene were classic Burton and I'm here for it. I love the first movie ,easily my favorite from Burton. I'm up for this one. And I have a huge crush on Jenna Ortega so let's do it!
“Long delayed movie sequels do not have a good track record.” Thats correct about some movies. Top Gun: Maverick is a standout delayed movie sequel that did it right. I don’t think you should be skeptical Sean. I was not skeptical about Top Gun: Maverick and it was great. I think the old school look they’re going with here and the fact that there seems to be more practical effects and less CGI has me even more excited and will probably excite a lot of people too.
I 100% agree with how skeptical you are and you are right about sequels like this released long after the original mostly do not do well or are simply not good. Tim Burton also has released alot of theatrical duds with his last few films but of course Wednesday was a big return for him. This sequel in an odd way reminds me of Burton's Dark Shadows mixed with Rob Zombie's Munsters and I hope to hell it is better than those two films. We are hoping this movie lives up to its potential, our LONG 36 year wait and at the same time we hope Burton can re-capture the magic that made him such an original director.
I was nervous at first but after seeing more and more of it, I really like it! Plus the practical effects look amazing. I think with movies like Dial of Destiny, too much CGI can take you out of a whole experience. But practical effects makes a world living or in this case unliving
Beetlejuice is a great film, a beloved classic from the 80s, that has Tim Burton all over it so I'm excited for the sequel. I think it feels special to do a sequel all these years later. It's very likely the sequel won't be as good as the original but its awesome to see these cast and characters back, especially Micheal Keaton who is such an underrated actor and fantastic in the role. Plus Jenna Ortega could not fit better in a Tim burton movie like this. Willem dafoe and Danny devito are in it too which is cool and intriguing
I couldn't agree more with you in this. Most of what you said reflet what I got in mind. I feel a bit nervous about this sequel, but also excitement to see another Tim Burton movie. It's been a while since we haven't seen him direct a movie that mostly reflet his brilliance since Sweeney Todd, I believe. After Dark Shadows, most of his movies started to decline in qualities. With that said, I know that Jenna Ortega is a perfect fit to work with Tim Burton. I'm confident she'll be good. I just wish we could have seen this movie sooner than later. Michael Keaton looks way too old. I'm ready to see it in theater.

@SeanChandlerTalksAbout I’m sure if nothing else, the movie will be worth seeing for Michael Keaton because, I know this is one of his more iconic roles from the 80’s era besides Batman of course.

🔥 Hot Take: If the GCI looks like end 80s stop motion CGI, then there is no reason to complain because it just fits right in.
All that really matters is that it looks right in the end
I Heard that the cgi plane it's a flashback scene
The plane shot is a stop motion sequence hence looking fake
Tim Burton said that they used NO CGI for the movie. Maybe a little.
CGI*
I love that they brought back the stop-motion worm and practical effects! I’m not anti-CGI, but that was really important for a Beetlejuice sequel.
It keeps the charm of the original film aswell Its only the same as disney using the yoda puppet in the last Jedi rather than the cgi, im all for it😊
Watch the trailer again. It's 100% CGI. Pretty bad CGI honestly.
@@Hugh_Jannis The worm isn’t CG? (The plane CG was awful though lol)
Michael Keaton, in his 70’s, actually fits the Beetlejuice character 36 years later.

I have faith that Tim Burton has still got it and this kind of movie is what he's best at.
Love the beetlejuice lighting 🪲
I was about to hit record and thought....I should switch to green and purple. That's the fun thing about the lights. I can customize for the video
