7:48 - The plane crash might be the reason why Charles is dead.
8:33- Fun Fact: If you pay attention to Monica Bellucci's left hand in that shot from the trailer, you can see she's missing the ring finger on her left hand. In the first film, when Beetlejuice tries to marry Lydia, he breaks out a ring that is still on a finger, with him telling Lydia that "she meant nothing to me!" Now you know whose hand that finger belongs to. XD

It looks like it's going to be wild, lol. I hope Beetlejuice plays a bigger part of the story here than he did in the first film, where he was just a glorified secondary character until the end. Personally, I hope Lydia has an adventure with him similar to the ones they had in the cartoon

The plane shot looks intentionally fake but I can't tell why... it would make sense if it was a practical model, but it does look like 90s cg. Maybe they wanted that James and the Giant Peach(the ocean stuff) level of CGI for the shot? Sandworm I believe is 100% stop motion and then the sand simulation is composited over it - I just think they were probably true to the sandworm animation technique for all shots cause doing a sand simulation with a proxy sandworm model and compositing the stop motion footage into seems like something they should be able to handle. *edit* going frame by frame that's not even CGI sand, its a 2D composite of sand video assets - like Christopher Nolan said about Oppenheimer "no CGI" (but there was plenty of VFX in that movie)

@@tyleradams3490 me too I have not liked Tim Burton CG heavy movies with the exception of the cheesy cringey Mars Attacks because the effects are supposed to be awful.
All the Practical effects in stop motion stuff is really a part of what makes Tim Burton so great and he dropped it for years..

Btw there isnt GC in this movie as far as im aware or at least 95% of the movie is practical i dnt think the sandworm or the plane is CG at all. Or if it is the way its done is DEFINITELY intentional to make it look "bad"

  • @tyleradams3490

I do think it's possible that the plane is actually just a heavily composited motion control model-photography plate shot on blue/green - like star wars. Would kill for BTS...remember when physical media used to have substantive supplemental material by default?

  • @pauldhoff

I'm 75 and the first movie came out when I was 39. I didn't care for the stop motion back than, it looked cheap. It was the story that I cared about and it was good. So if they do stop motion again or whatever and the story isn't good, I don't care. And if it is a good story, for me, the stop motion still means nothing. Movies are fake. :)
