    For Keaton being 72 i think he looks great. People seem to think he should look exactly the same after 36 years. Keep on keeping on Chris!

      Besides why would you want a copy of the first movie? This one will be more slow paced lore oriented.

    This film has Tim Burton's B movie charm to it and it looks like a REAL Tim Burton film not a Hollywood Burton film. I can't wait for this film. Will be there day 1. Keaton still has the ghost charm.

    'Beetlejuice 2' has been in development ever since the first one came out. In the 90's Kevin Smith was given a chance to work on 'Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian', which never came to be.

    Monica bellucci plays beetlejuice’s old wife. In the scene where she says “Where’s Beetlejuice”? She is missing her ring finger. Remember in the wedding scene in the first movie he pulls out a whole finger and says “She meant nothing to me, nothing at all”

    The one thing that mostly throws me off is how slick everything looks. Obviously we're in 2024 now and cameras are extremely high quality, but I feel like certain films really lend themselves to the more grainy older look of 80s-90s movies. It's something that bugged me with the new Indiana Jones too. Seeing Keaton in the makeup and costume in full HD just looks weird

    • @chrisstanleyofficial
      @chrisstanleyofficial  Месяц назад +3

      I’ve been like that in the past with a few films lately, man. Like if they had of gone all out and filmed this on 35mm would it change the whole tone and vibe of the picture? I think so!

    • @masterofallgoons
      @masterofallgoons Месяц назад +1

      It's possible that they'll add some texture and grain to the final film. I remember being stunned by the trailer for The Holdovers after I saw the movie. The movie itself looks so convincingly like old film stock, but then I saw the trailer after and it didn't have that look at all... then I found out that it was all done in post. It still could happen.

    • @Luke101
      @Luke101 Месяц назад +1

      @@masterofallgoons Dude that's crazy I was gonna reference that same film initially. Between the soundtrack, cinematography, and the film grain, it felt like a movie straight out of the 70s. I'm assuming this movie takes place in modern day, but it would still help if there was some grit to the shots to match the gross creepy tone of Beetlejuice himself

    • @masterofallgoons
      @masterofallgoons Месяц назад

      @@Luke101 - It really looks great doesn't it? It's very rare that I can be fooled, but that added texture, and the boxy aspect ratio really got me. I know Burton loves and prefers film, but like most filmmakers he's succumbed to the reality of digital being cheaper, easier, and the one that studios will agree to. But this post production process has really come along way to approximating the look of actual film.

    • @masterofallgoons
      @masterofallgoons Месяц назад

      @@Luke101 - Also, our Aussie friends may know this one, but the other film that I noticed a good filmic look in a totally different way was the Nick Cave documentary by Andrew Dominik from 2022 called This Much I Know to Be True. It's a great watch (and listen) but man, it looks terrific, particularly in the performances of the songs. I stayed to watch the credits when I saw it and noticed they credited a company or technique called 'Live Grain' which apparently added that moving, grainy texture to the look of the image, and it's terrific. I don't know that it fully looked like celluloid, but it looked beautiful.

  • @TothanCrawk
    @TothanCrawk Месяц назад +5

    I want to be excited, but I'm getting Hocus Pocus 2 vibes from this. Plus its my personal opinion that the reason Burton's earlier films were so much better is because back then studios gave him less control. And since that changed his films haven't been as good, kind of suggesting that he needed the extra help.

    • @chrisstanleyofficial
      @chrisstanleyofficial  Месяц назад +1

      Fair call, man! As in you think too much time has passed for there to be a sequel?

    • @TothanCrawk
      @TothanCrawk Месяц назад +3

      @@chrisstanleyofficial I don't mind the time that's passed, and I suppose Wednesday was good. I'm just wondering how Burton having more creative control for this movie will differ from the original. Also Keaton doesn't seem to have the kinda energy here he had in the original, but that could just be from the clips they choose to show. I'm going in cautiously optimistic.

    • @TothanCrawk
      @TothanCrawk Месяц назад

      Also random, but I really love the poster version of Freddy you have on the side.

    • @masterofallgoons
      @masterofallgoons Месяц назад

      @@TothanCrawk- He had loads of control in the earliest films. Warners pretty much left him alone on PeeWee and Beetlejuice. Then he had to comply with batman but again had full control on Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns, Ed Wood, Nightmare, and Mars Attacks.. then the whole superman thing went down.

    I can’t tell if the people saying they are impressed with the practical effects are being serious or sarcastic. I’ve watched it several times and it looks like mid-2000s television CGI. The sandworm, the plane, his eyes popping out. I’m hopping it looks better on the big screen.

      @hezekiahramirez6965 Месяц назад

      The practical effects are very impressive. There is also a lot of CG. I know people insist that those are not VFX but they are. They twist themselves into knots trying to believe everything is practical. There's going to be a ton of VFX in the movie. That's not a bad thing. But you're right that some VFX does seem unfinished. I do think a lot of shots will look better in the final feature. I think they're purposefully cartoony but they should at least work in context and I think they will

I would just suggest that you might not actually know everything and perhaps there are things that others can teach you. You're clearly very young so when you turn 18 in a few years and you live in the real world you'll realize that. Goodbye. I know you're going to keep posting so I just won't read it.
