Thank you for this, it's literally like one of two complete fine-guage sock loom tutorials found on RUclips
I use my own homespun 2 ply wool yarn. Starting with alternating knit stitch and purl stitch cuff. The sock proper is flat stitch. This makes the warmest winter sock I have ever seen.
Omg! Thank you so much for this video! You explain everything so well! You should be on the kB disc that come with the loom! I bought my loom about 4 years ago and watched the video that came with it and I was totally lost, I put it back in the box until I just found your video. I am so impressed with you! Thank you so much! I will be starting some socks tonight ❤️
Thank you so much. I've been struggling for years with shop socks that were supposed to be my size (12uk) but always a tad too tight. Now I can make my own custom socks. Thank you 🙏
No one else has explained and demonstrated this better than you! THANK YOU SO MUCH
Thank you for this video it's about time some does a sock video that isn't a baby bootie or where they are going on and on about their pets or kids thank you thank you thank you
😂😂😂lol! Right-get to the meat!!!
Thank you so much for the video! I can't knit so I bought a loom like this one and I couldn't follow the instructions that came with them and this video did MUCH better at explaining everything. SUCH a big help! Thank you!
I sure appreciate all the videos on my You Tube. Pretty awesome for those who have such a gift as these projects. I am at this so I do have some challenges a head of me. I could never have tried to learn these techniques with all those people to share as they have done. Thank u all so much as well as You tube for making this happen. You have all had a part to inspire me. Heartfelt appreciation.
the best direction ever thank you. I was wondering tube socks would have no heel right. you just keep going? we are very grateful to you.
Hands down the best knit sock on a loom tutorial I've found. Thank you so much for this.
Thank you so much for making this video and sharing it. I've wanted to knit socks for a long time and your tutorial was fantastic.
this is awesome, I got a sock loom for Christmas yesterday and skein of yarn to go with it hahahaha I think it was a hint! thank you for taking the time to show us how to use the loom and for sharing your tips and tricks!!!! just amazing!
Thank you, so much for explaining how to make socks, in such a simple way, that I can understand & actually see how to make them. You make it look & sound so simple. Your instructions are so easy to follow. I always thought making socks would be very difficult. However, I'm now, looking forward to making socks for my family....lol : )
Thanks for sharing your knowledge in demystifying knitting socks. Making them with four needles intimidated me. I think I'll try your method.
I love the method. Once you find the number of pegs and gauge you need for socks using the paper mold has never failed me. Makes life so much easier when making socks.
Thank you for this most instructive video, I have just ordered one and would be interested to see any future project's that you might undertake using an EFG loom.
You are great at showing step to step on how to use and show from beginning to end making your great socks thank you and please keep showing the simple ways to make things on this loom.
Thank you so much for doing this tutorial. It’s greatly appreciated 🦋
I really like how easy it is to make socks with the sock loom! Pretty awesome basically because I didn't want to give it away!
Thank you for this video ma’am !! I tried out DPNs but I found them too fiddly for a new knitter like myself. I’ll try this out tonight hopefully will have some new socks by next week :)
OMG! This video really helped me understand the whole sock thingy! hehe
Hello Scarlet! I love your Video! Thank you so much!! There isn't a lot of options for the extra fine gauge loom, and boy have I been nervous to try it! My hook was NOT usable with my loom, unfortunately, it was way too big to even fit into the grooves and had no tilt to the end of the hook. Luckily i have a few hooks with very small tines to fit into the grooves, but still no little "tilt" on the end of the tine. Anyhow, thank you so much for this video! Am trying to make a baby bootie for my Grandbaby who is due soon!! Thanks again, Jody
Love the video it's been a long time since I have used my. Thanks for doing this
This was so very helpful for this newbie!!!! Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much for showing full directions. Thanks for sharing.
thanks a lot for this video on this new loom! you helped me a lot! nice work! thanks!
Great sock and video, however, I need to find another cast off because I don't like that particular one for my own socks. Thank you for sharing this custom sock video!
Awesome video! Really helpful! Thank you!!!! You rock!
Thank you so much for this wonderful video. Just 1 thing, my hook doesn't have that tiny curve at the end like yours and I'm sad about it. It would definitely be very helpful with the middle carriage that is so much trouble.
Excellent video. Thanks for this.
Great video, easy to follow, thank you so much!!!!!!
Thank you very much for the video!! Awesome detail.
🌹Thank you so much - it is a great and very helpful tutorial!👍
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I first purchased this sock loom and regretted the purchase. Thankfully they stopped selling this loom. The pegs kept snapping off. Had them replace it several times but it still snaps off. Stupid plastics. Like I said, glad they discontinued this product.
thank you and your way is wonderful
Love the cuff. I never have seen it done before and measuring the width is so smart. Is there a way to decrease the toe area so it is more rounded at the corners?
I just got the same loom, but haven't used it yet. I always have crooked socks on my Martha Stewart loom by Lion Brand and couldn't figure it out. This video is great. It shows exactly how to do the turning pegs. Thanks for showing it. I was also wondering if that pick can be bought anywhere. Mine came with a regular pick.
+Cara Elena I haven't seen the pick available. Mine came with the slight curve on the end. And I do love it for fine gauge looming. Don't even know what you would call the pick to maybe find one to purchase. Good luck and am soo glad this video has helped. :-) Also feel free to see my no show sock video for other instructions for the rectangular looms.
COOL! Kitchener stitch on the loom. I really don't like a seam across the top of my foot, but I've been trying to think how to decrease the toe, but still sew off the end. I'm doing my first sock, and I can make them by hand a lot faster, I think, but just had to try it once. If I ever do it, again, I'll do toe up, I think. Thanks for the very clear and informative video.
Very helpful it really did help me thank you
Ladies you can find picks like that at lowes or Walmart tool section
Hubby got mine at Walmart. 4 picks for 5,00
I was going to purchase this loom today but decided against it. I think I will purchase now. however I think I need to first make a pair on my sock loom 2.
which wool do you use and which wool has some elasticity in it?
Does this work on a sock loom that isn't for the finer gauge?
thanks for your help.
Hello very nice video, so how long does it take to do on sock ? Thanks. 👍🏾🙋🏽😃
Finally I have made a sock that fits my feet :) But did I miss the part of how to get a nice round toe as mine is completely straight? I am guessing I should have repeated how the heel was done to get a nice round toe? I really enjoyed using this loom though and can't wait to have another go at it.
Wonderful!! Yes just do the heel again for the toe, bind off and whip stitch up!!
Is this the fine or extra fine loom?
I'm making your sock and my loom board has only 22 pegs across. Will I have to adjust something in order for the sock to fit?
Scarlett. This video is awesome especially since I'm left handed. This is my first ever loom project as I have big feet and can never find cute socks in my size. I have a quick question, I love how you put the starting knot on the outside of the pattern and I've done that but further in the video, I see that at some point you removed if from the loom, when am I suppose to do that? Please let me know. I certainly appreciate.
I usually release it after a couple of rows.
I still don't understand how to do the heel
so, if I'm following something that says the size i need is a certain amount of pegs, do the skipped pegs count or do they not and i need to expand the bar? (cannot measure as it is for a baby not yet born)
Great tutorial! I had a hard time working with an instruction book because I learn Best by seeing something done. One question- how do you get the toe to curve and have the seam slightly on top of the toe?
Are you supposed to e-wrsp between each round?
Where can find your animal Book you loom knitting ?
Great video, I can crochet socks, but thought I'd try a sock loom. Is there away to get a more rounded toe? Find most shoes or boots have a removable liner that makes a great template. Thanks, something to make while icefishing.
Just repeat the sock heel at the toe.
Please include your link for your awesome sock loom hook. I can't find it online. Thanks.
Thank you for this video. So helpful!
Wow. Thank you!
Excellent. First video that uses the side of the loom to do the heel, not using the corners. I had a problem. It didnt fit over the heel. What did i do wrong? Also, how do you keep the toe part from being square when you bind off? Is the sock turned inside out?
I have since done videos on toes that aren't square. You typically repeat the heel at the toe and choose a number of bind off methods. ruclips.net/video/4XUCi4vkvRY/видео.html
@@ScarlettRoyaletheloommuse Thank you so much. My son's feet are size 13 UK sizing, and it's impossible to find socks that fit. This is exactly what we needed.
Brand loom you are using?
I did all my wrap and turns I don't understand why my heel is not the same.
Just watched the video completely, brilliant version of closing Kitchener but seems to me it leaves dog ears like the old squared tube socks from the 1970s , which I’m sure a lot of people with sensitive feet are annoyed by …I was thinking if I did a toe like the heel (short row wrap &turn) then used this Kitchener cast off if it would result in a smoother more seamless more customized toe fit ….anyone have input on this idea?
what's the name of that loom? I really like this one!
I can't find it anywhere is it discontinued.
Great job. So if I don't know size just do it without the heel as a tube sock...
Yes
excited

i am having problems, either I wrap so tight I can't pull the loop over, or too loose it pops off pegs before I can loop over
Many who have trouble with the flat knit try a u knit. I tend to pull the loop over and then pull to the center of the loom before releasing and it gives me a looser stitch. My video on fine gauge base techniques shows this process. It has helped many to get to where they have an easier time with the flat knit.
Great .thank you
Can I make a prem baby hat with this loom
My bet it you very well could. Might need to do a swatch to figure your peg count.
hi I'm having a problem. I am making a socks for my children and I'm not understanding the pegs to use for the heel. my grand baby only used 7 pegs and her heel was only 5 pegs. can't figure out the formula.
Heels are generally dividing all the pegs you are using in half, and only using half the pegs fo the heel, the wrap and turn your heel down to 5 pegs. the less pegs you use means the less wrap and turns too.
How do you use a loom to knit a calf wider than the ball of the foot?
With this loom because you can move the adjuster around you will need to add more pegs and decrease it down to when you get to the ankle. With the desire to do this you will need to do a swatch. A 10 row by 10 pegs to figure out your inch by inch.
Thank you!
Can I use actual sock weight yarn. Or should I double up ?
Yes if you are using a super fine gauge like this loom a regular sock weight is just fine.
Where can i buy that special sock loom?
Discontinued and there is not a loom that is comparable yet.
Can I use a sock yarn with this loom?
Yes indeed.
I am looking for how to make an open toed sock. The closest I have seen is yoga socks but those also have the heel open and I'm not experienced enough to know how to make the adjustments. Any suggestions? A video would be extremely helpful but I will be grateful for any suggestions that helps me with the how to 😊
You are looking for pedicure socks. I do have a video.

Thank you so much! I have neuropathy and it hurts to have anything on my toes; this is going to be such a help, I cannot even express it,🥰
Hi Scarlett I did my heel but it does not look like yours so I am not sure what went wrong . it is not a closed heel or have a cup look .
This video may be helpful to break down how the heel works. ruclips.net/video/4XUCi4vkvRY/видео.html
for an easy guide i like to use a empty pen. put your yarn through and then just watch how easy and fast it glides around the pegs
Mrs Scarlet I was wondering the name of the loom you used in this tutorial. I'm having difficulty finding it. It isn't on the site you gave the women a year ago in comments.
It is an EFG KB loom but they may have discontinued it.
What yarn and weight did you use?
I used worsted but would suggest thinner like size 3 or 2 yarn.
how long does it take to make 1 pair infant- toddler socks?
5 to 7 hours
where from i will get or purchase this loom
your everyday craft stores tend to carry the KB EFG looms.

Ms. Scarlett Royal, I know this video is 3 years old, but if you see this, can you help me? I want so much to be able to make socks, but no matter how loose I make my cast-on, after a row or two my stitches become so tight that they are unworkable. I even tried to go slower and use the true-knit stitch, but even those didn't last long. Is there anything different I can try?
Laura Setepenre what method are you using to find your peg count? If you are using the one in the video, did you put your weight on the foot when tracing out your mold? Also if you using the measuring method of the ball did you put your weight on the foot when measuring? You can get almost a half inch difference if not. That can give you problems with your fit. As for your tension I am not sure, particularly when using the true knit. You might be pulling on the working yarn more. I would suggest try to barely pull on it when working it. So it might help with your tension. Hope this is helpful for you.
Thank you, I will try to pull even less on my working yarn. I don't feel like I'm pulling at all, really, but I must be. As for the fit, I decided to not use the KB loom for now. I am using a full round CinDWood 40 peg 3/8 for now so I don't have to struggle with the inside pegs for my first sock. Even with the flexible pegs my yarn became so unworkable I feared snapping the pegs off the frame. I was at the point of weeping last night. I'll take a deep breath and try again tonight. Thank you so much for your quick reply!
I have the same issue. No matter how loose I leave the yarn after 2-3 rows it is too tight and breaks the yarn. I just am using the loom as is. I didn't try to make a specific size. I just wanted to learn first.
Great video on making a custom fit sock but shame about the toe.....it spoils it and would be very uncomfy, luckily there are other ways to finish the toe to fit properly.
I am wanting to make socks for children I do not know. I saw how you traced a template, but I am unable to do that. Can you please tell me how many pegs I would have to use for ages 4-14? I have the sock loom 2. Thanks.
This might be helpful. ruclips.net/video/UeFMODHMMyE/видео.html
This is the EFG loom isn’t it? I can barely do a stitch with #1 sock yarn and you say you used worsted? Why am I finding so much difficulty?
The plastic on this loom are brittle and I broke some pegs. I don't like it all that much, I prefer the CinDwood socks looms in the 1/4" gauge and the size 1 yarn works better. Honestly I am not the biggest KB fan any way.
Can you do another one that is in focus? It was very difficult to see what you were doing because it got out of frame and out of focus and I liked what you were teaching and you method of teaching just the bad video was difficult to see. Thanks
This is an old video. I have several videos available on my youtube page in the playlist labeled "Socks"
could you show how to taper the toe rather than just a straight finish?
I have a video that shows the toe and the heel. It may be a video on the round loom but is the same process as the heel. ruclips.net/video/4XUCi4vkvRY/видео.html

Scarlett Royal thanks
I really want to make socks for my husband and son but he has size 14 feet, and my son has size 16 feet any advice? I have never done this before.
You will probably need a universal hat loom that is adjustable for those sizes. I have a way to configure for larger gauge looms. You will probably want a 1/4" gauge loom. If you can't find one go for 3/8" gauge. Let me get you the link for a helpful video this this will venture into the more advanced.

@@ScarlettRoyaletheloommuse thank you. I will look for that loom 🙏🏿❤️. Is that what it's called? A universal hand loom?
I know she makes them easy I made to .
Great directions but still a very thick sock.
Where can you find that loom you got in that video on RUclips?

Oh ok Thanks
Do you know where you can find a Book tube socks?

Oh man warum gibt es das nicht in einer deutschen Erklärung LG Wilma
This did not help me at all as i have the new his & her sock loom fine gauge and it is totally rectangle...???
Your question is not very clear, but I will answer in two ways. Circular loom can be used to make loom socks as well. However this video, this woman used the rectangle with adjustable pegs. Watch the video carefully from start to end. :)

Oh my goodness, your left handed aren't you? You should have seen my first 2 rows fighting my right handedness lol Starting again...
I’m right handed, but I must have learned to do it left handed because I do it the same way....
For those wondering a adult size sock takes about 44 pegs...your welcome
No we can't see unless you zoom out just a little because you are off camera. Not ment to insult just an observation and request to zoom out. ♥♥🙏🙏
Hey. I was really disappointed because the color choice used and the camera focus made it very hard to see. Thank you anyway.
Пяточка понравилась, а вот пальчики может натирать, в обуви.
The heel instructions are confusing as hell! Also, this video is blurry. It's difficult to see exactly what you're doing. Did you not notice this when you posted it??
Do you have a free printable version. It helps me to go over and over a pattern to get it right and my internet doesn't always come in for the video tutorial. Thanks! bodiegoostree@yahoo.com
