    He was angry at John Lennon because of his statement, "Beatles are more popular than Jesus". He was also furious because John Lennon said that he does not believe in Jesus and Beatles. Chapman did not understand the concept of liberation, just like Holden confused the phrase "Catcher in the rye"; the book that he was carrying with himself at the time he shot John Lennon. The character Holden goes all dark after going for ice skating to the Rockefellar Centre. Chapman said, 'Who does he think he is, saying these things about God and heaven and the Beatles?'

      @jackory6006 3 года назад

      It’s possible to do heinous acts, purposefully and feel guilt and remorse. What I think, as a severe and hardcore fan of John Lennon, this loser was so stuck on this idea of killing someone/killing Lennon that it became an obsession and habit to try it. I think this obsession distorted his way of thinking and the only hindsight he had was killing Lennon and nothing beyond that. To him it wasn’t “severe” because well, he’s obviously mentally ill but also he had been thinking about it so much he became desensitised to it so when he finally did it, the shock and adrenaline knocked him fully out of this obsession and that’s why he described it as “all the evil leaving him” now not to believe everything he says but I think the killing was a catalyst for him but sadly it was murder. He doesn’t deserve to be released because he took a life - I do believe he is remorseful and suffers guilt. I believe he also wishes he didn’t do it daily but he did. The fact he has sympathy for what he did should be noted and recognised as a win; he’s truly suffering for his actions rather than not caring. We and John have won while this loser suffers.

    I was Facebook friends with Paul Goresh and he suggested we meet the next time I was in the USA. Sadly he passed away around 5/6 years ago and I never got to meet him.
    He absolutely despised John's murderer, hated him with a passion.
    Paul was a top guy and he was probably more affected by John's murder than anyone else in the world - excluding John's family and Yoko.
    RIP Paul and John.

      John was unnerved, and he may have said something to the producer in the studio that night. He didn't think he was going to be shot, but he thought Chapman was strange. I suspect when he saw him again, he was even more worried and he began to walk quickly.....but it was too late...........

    killing the john Lennon for no reason

  • @susangavaghan
    @susangavaghan Год назад +2

    I never really understood why this guy murdered John - I just watched a video entitled I Killed John Lennon the Mark Chapman Tapes which makes sense of it. He worshipped John, became a hippy then became a born again Christian and ditched being a hippy. He sees himself as a failure the identifies with the character in The Catcher In The Rye who hates phoneys. By pure chance he comes across a book about Lennon and fixates on him as a phoney. Lennon then becomes the root of all ills and Chapman decides to kill John because John has what he wants. It was claimed that Chapman is a narcissist - that explains a lot. Not everyone can be John Lennon or a famous person. This idea that you are a 'nobody' because you are not famous seems very odd. If you try to do good in your life then you are not a nobody. Well, Chapman certainly obtained fame - but at what cost? To be universally hated and to be behind bars for the rest of his life was a heavy price to pay. His parole has been rejected for the 12th time this year. Does he believe it was worth it? I wonder if this guy had discovered his own talent and gained appreciation and fulfilment for his own abilities, if this would have made any difference to him. ruclips.net/video/SbjDOggOGZE/видео.html
