It's hard for young people of this generation to understand how truly popular The Beatles were in their time. They think it's something like Taylor Swift. But it's not, it was different. The Beatles literally defined their era. There is no documentary about the influence of the 60s without the Beatles in it. They are preserved in time capsules. The most influential band in history. When I first saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show, I was 9 years old. Ringo, the #1 thing that was different about the Beatles (besides all being totally handsome, and the hair and the great songs) was the Beat. Your drumming was the backbone and really stood out to me. You held it all together. I know without a doubt that they would not have taken the world by storm if they hadn’t gotten you in the band. I’m not making this up. I knew this the first second I heard the Beatles play.
