Hey GawdlikeMatt. Good need for those WHO MISSED learning Jecht Shot, early on in the game... If you go to Kilika Port (after getting the airship) and go to the boat it will ask you where do you want to go?? Besaid or Luca. Select Luna, and as the ship leaves the port, you can walk out on the ship's bow; touch the ball and try it till, YOU GET JECHT SHOT!!

You can recruit Brother from the Airship after you escape Home. You do not need to wait until after Yunalesca
kshack huh, thats weird. i think i said after yunalesca because thats when you can use the airship to travel and its easier to get all the players at once

This is the weirdest video. 12 minutes long and it only contains two pieces of information on blitz ball: Brother is op, and you need the Jecht shot. I kept waiting for some info on how to actually play the game and it never came. Wild.

I thought this was gonna be a great video explaining the game of blitzball and reviewing some really cool strats to be able to trounce the competition, but it's all just a ploy for his buddies to like his video and get views. What a shame...
You might've missed the part where he says make Brother mid field so you can ensure he get the ball, swim down or towards your goal to bait the enemies and create an opening, then pass to Tidus from across the pool because Brother's OP stats allow you, then Jecht Shot to score a goal. All explained in the video.
you don't actually need Brother, he just has some of the highest low game stats with top tier speed. if you don't want to wait that long to get him, you can do it easily enough with this team:
Ropp (Mi'hen Highroad Travel Shop)
Jumal (Luca, center bench outside the cafe)
Zalitz (Luca, right outside the Theater)
Wedge (Luca, right next to the Aurochs' locker)
Wedge is an absolute beast early game shot. you just need to pass from him a few times to get to LV3 and then unlock a slot to equip a shot technique. he's good enough to score on Nimrook. Ropp is the best defender from LV1 to 99, so he can stay forever. Zalitz is a pretty solid low game defender as well, and Jumal is a solid goalie not too far behind Nimrook.
as long as you got enough battles to get the stuff to show up, you don't need to wait til Brother or need Jecht Shot (though it is an amazing shot technique worth having). if you wanted to get kinky, then you could put Zalitz/Ropp as a midfielder and steal the ball to pass to Tidus/Wedge.
He also mentions how to reset the league's and tourneys until Wakkas overdrive is the prize. :)
fun thing brother is not even OP, my midfielder scores before brother picks the option to shoot Linna can shoot from midfield really early on. She starts with an insane shoot stat + golden arm + Napshot 2 and or 3 so yeah 30 shoot when nimrook still has 12 - 14 catch. You can score from far away with her against nimrook before reaching lv 10. And she doesn't fall of
I know other people have already said this, but you DON'T HAVE TO RESTART THE GAME TO LEARN THE JECHT SHOT. If you take the boat in Kilika Port (by going south from the airship travel point) to Luca, it will give you unlimited tries at the minigame. Aside from this, great video! I really appreciate it

@@zman2748 I felt the same(with this game atleast)...mini-games should feel like a fun distraction rather than a tedious chore...tht said the devs knew what they were doing with this blitzball games cos of Wakka's celestial weapon being a game breaker but thts y I like this guys vid...it's kinda a way in which I can cheese the grind. I actually have a crazy friend who did this extra blitz games on a 3rd playthru with the original Besaid team only cos of weird obsessive compulsive reasons...no way im doin that.
This guide video really works. I used to suck at this game but now I have a winning streak of 31 and hoping to not lose anymore.
Tidus using Jecht shot and sphere shot, can pretty much win the game and rack up exp making his shoot better each time. Have got to the point I can score everytime from the half way line 👍
If you recruit brother right before the everae fight, you can start using him when you get to the calm lands

Hey Matt....I just wana say thank you and I got the hang of blitzball now...yesterday I scored 4 points...and the other team scored 0 lol lol infact I got wakka’s attack reels overdrive...so basically u have to know when to break and not to break..and always pass the ball to tidus then swim as close as you can to the goalkeeper and do your jecht shot...that’s it and that’s what I been doing all thanks to you....wow.EVERYONE this works...thank you Matt.

Good thing the Jecht shot as it was a trophy as well. I reset until I got it, luckily it was really easy to get.
one uncommon tip that is useful is that you can bring up the menu carrying the ball and pass before an encounter. Then grab the available free agents. it's easy and early recommend grab Ropp and Wedge with Tidus then Kyou then Brother/Wakka/Rin, at airship, also Nimrook any time you can. When you know the strategy of passing before encounter, avoiding the encounter, you can always win and always score the maximum goals in a game it's breaking.
I'm going through my first playthrough in like 10 years right now. Love this game, and I'm a blitz ball fan. I played a lot of blitz when I was first able to and I went 8-2 with the shitty orochs in my first league. I'm trying to level up keepa because he ends up with the best shooting stats in the game if you fully level him, oddly enough. Lol. I missed the jecht shot though, so I have to go back for it when I get the airship again. Can't wait to add brother to my team again! The sphere shot is no slouch either, btw. Good vid, bro! Keep blitzing. Lol

Bad advice tbh. You don't NEED Jecht Shot or Brother. Yes, both are completely broken, but you can definitely start playing Blitzball as soon as you leave Luca by recruiting Wedge, Jumal, Zalitz, and Ropp. You will easily win all games with that team too, and you don't have to wait until endgame. Jecht Shot is also completely unnecessary if you actually know how to play Blitzball (use MF or defender to lure out opposing defenders, then pass to an open shooter and score).
Arlo the purpose of this video was completely based off the premise of this strategy and for the convenience of saving time. if you wanna argue that your method is overall faster then thats a different story, and i seriously doubt that it is for that matter. saying i gave bad advice is rude, arrogant and ignorant and was completely unfounded and unjustified. and to that i guess all i have to say is dont open your mouth unless you have a valid point to make xD seriously.
GawdlikeMatt Waiting until the end of the game to even begin Blitzball is hardly time saving lol...you can quickly (10 minutes or less) recruit a team that will win you all the games you need for the important Blitzball items as soon as the minigame becomes unlocked. I already made that point, but apparently you need it reiterated, so there you go.
your point is invalid. my strategy to use brother and tidus's jecht shot is much faster than what any regular team can do at the time you can begin playing blitzball. and you know when the best time is to start implementing this strategy? the end of the game. cuz thats when you get the airship -_- so OVERALL this is the best time to do this because it saves time in the grand scheme of things. You're talking as if blitzball is the only thing you'll be doing. people who are going for all of wakka's slot reels and his best weapon are completionist's who are going for EVERYTHING in the game, not just blitzball wins -_- that being said this is the best time in the game to implement this strategy given EVERYTHING ELSE you'll be doing in the game, doing it this way saves you time. That is, case and point, why your point is invalid. if this is still lost on you then you missed the entire point of this video and you're just looking to cause trouble. I made this video to help people and you just come over here and leave a rude comment and say something stupid that makes no sense? please don't be a piece of shit.
GawdlikeMatt How is it faster? Blitzball games take the same amount of time regardless of the team you're using; you're just too stubborn to admit that your strategy may not be optimal. You can recruit Wedge right in Luca, and he can easily score on any early game goalie without Jecht Shot. Likewise, you can get Zalitz and Ropp right away who are excellent defenders that will make it close to impossible for opposing teams to get anywhere near your net. Waiting until the very end of the game to do the exact same thing doesn't save time at all, and there are plenty of other endgame/postgame things going on to distract you from Blitzball as well, so your point isn't valid at all. If anything, it makes more sense to start early on and gradually work your way through Blitzball so that you don't have to spend hours grinding it all out at once come endgame. Plus, there are some really nice prizes along the way that are useful in the earlygame and midgame. I'm saying plenty of things that make sense, and maybe I said it in a rude way, but the only reason you're bitching at me for it is because you're annoyed that I'm pointing out flaws in your strategy. Pretty childish if you ask me.
my way is easier, simpler and more straight forward, you dont have to go hunting for any players, you only need brother and tidus's jecht shot. with just these two things every single game is a guaranteed win. YOU may be able to win just as many games with the players you said, you can claim that, im not gonna argue that point. what I will argue is that for just anybody playing blitzball they could take some bullshit losses because of unexpected factors or whatever the case may be and that's what you're not taking into account here. this guide is for EVERYBODY, you're not the only one who matters here. you wanna use your strategy? that's great! go for it, you dont HAVE to use mine. But i would argue mine is better because it's easier, simpler, and every game is a guaranteed win with this strategy so there will be NO unexpected losses, which in turn makes my strategy in a way faster than yours. And now you're just looking to make enemies and throwing out accusations and shit. if your next comment has any more of that negativity bullshit im just gonna end up blocking you. Wanna have a friendly debate? im fine with that, everybody's entitled to their own opinion, however from your FIRST COMMENT you were rude straight out of the gate, so forgive me if i seem very aggressive, i just cannot tolerate bullshit from ignorant people.
You might want to recruit Nimrook, because YOU WILL MISS if he is the goalie until you level up Tidus LOL
If you mess up the jecht shot, you don't need to start a new game, just reset the game and go to the save sphere that's right next to it.

Not the greatest team but I'm still getting 8-0 on occasion and I've not progressed in the story since the highroad.
If I get bored and carry on with the game before unlocking everything, will probably reset team data at the airship and do it your way though 😂😂

You don't need brother, I won 10 / 11 games without recruiting anyone (only lost to Al Bhed because their goal keeper is really good, but I cracked them as well). Also, besides Tidus, Letty is really good if you level him up. Letty / Jassu / Tidus combo is a goal machine.
I ran into that bastard last night. Holy crap he blocked shots that I took from right next to him. Managed to win but I got lucky.
You can win with any team, just by passing to yourself for 4 mins, then getting a goal before the 5 min timer. You just over level and win because you are 20 levels higher.
This was the self help motivation I needed today, I absolutely fucking hate blitzball I always lose which is catastrophic as a perfectionist
Damn I forgot thats who the player was, Brother. I remember i had a save file back in 2003 where Titus could sphereshot from my own goal and get a goal about 98% of the time.
I picked up brother and my strat is to simply swim past all the opposing team, have them all follow brother and then get out of range so that when I pull up the menu to pass/shoot, I have no one to break to. My whole team has no one guarding them and my LF/RF are free to shoot with no blockers. So easy.
You can get the jecht shot if youve missed it. Simply go to luca and board the ship at the dock. The ball will be at the front if the ship
I got all the Auroks to lv 22 last night and Datto is incredibly fast! He can swim faster than most of the players so you can lure them, outswim them and reach the goal uncontested plus his shot stat is really good.
Brother is even better than Datto at that tactic.
For me Brother ended up over twice the rest of my teams’ levels as he could single handedly score 6+ goals per game (as well as taking the ball off the computer)
Brother only has ridiculous stats when he's leveled up now. His stats at level 1 are SPD 75/ HP105/ END 8/ ATK 6/ Pas 14/ BLK 13/ SH 14/ Cat 1. Yes some are still kinda high for level one but my biggest problem rn now is the League I'm in my first match is against the Guado, I keep getting 3 or 4 way encounters and my goalie CAN NOT stop their shooter. Also, my Jecht shot misses ALL the time.

Get the ball to Zamzi Guado at every given opportunity, make him drag everyone out of position with his 75 speed and then pass it past everyone with his high passing and something like wither shot 2... does the trick.
Play long ball straight to Tidus and Jecht Shot it.
Blitz all is so ridiculously easy. I don’t get the tears over it. You don’t need to cheese with brother.
You can sign Good players in Luca right away and start winning no problem

Hey Matt...I have mastered Blitzball and I have gotten all of Wakka’s overdrive reels and his world champion celestial weapon...your strategy seriously works I can’t praise you enough...I need help beating the dark magus sisters individually...and also dark yojimbo..it’s so hard to get tidus celestial weapon coz of that stupid chocobo mini game..please any strategy u got would be a god send..and greatly appreciated...thank you
you're welcome, happy this could help. as for the dark aeons i dont have much experience with them in terms of fighting them properly, I think some stat farming might be required for that, but if you simply want them dead there is a cheap trick you can do. yojimbos overdrive will one shot any and every enemy in the game to my knowledge, that being said you can save right before any dark aeon you fight, summon yojimbo and pay him to use his overdrive, if he doesnt use him overdrive reload file and try again, he will eventually do it if you get lucky and you will one shot the boss. easy peasy. as for the chocobo mini game its hard as fuck and not much i can tell you will change that, took me over an hour to complete it myself. my advice is to be careful during the race to not run into any walls as it slows down the chocobos movement and your opponent will pass you. other than that its mostly up to your skill to complete it. good luck dood
GawdlikeMatt I’m well aware of yojimbo’s zanmato instant kill move...in fact it’s what I been relying on to defeating the dark aeons I have beaten most of them except the dark magus sisters and dark yojimbo himself...the problem here is that after I zanmato the first magus sister it’s the 2nd and 3rd one that’s hard to beat coz there’s no save point to replenish yojimbo’s health and yun’s overdrive...because yojimbo’s zanmato technique works best when he’s in overdrive mode and he has to be compatible with lady yuna meaning that u have to fight a lot of battles with him and don’t ever dismiss him and don’t let him die too often...dark yojimbo is the real problem here as I have to fight him 5 times to kill him completely.ill search elsewhere for help but Matt I’m a true believer in you...and thanks for replying to me.ill miss blitzball I have come to like it because of you and my 9 year old son gets all excited when he hears tidus doing the jectshot...lol lol lol I wish it can be done in real life lol lol lol take care my fellow gamer
It was after acquiring brother that i figured out how to make the game easy before him.. it's simple.
Mf doesnt matter but when he gets the wall. Sit there for about two seconds then kite towards your goal then pass to your fastest swimmer who is lf or rf. Then swim to the closest edge and head towards enemy goal. You will probably only get intercepted by 1 guy. Break through or pass to your shooter. Run into defenceless goal and shoot. Brother just makes this strategy easier but its 90% successful without him
I understood Blitzball very quickly, super easy and super fun mini-game.
Yeah, at first glance Brother seems really good, due to his speed and all what not and if i wanna score something like 20-30 goals a game,
i choose him, Datto & Nedus, but otherwise, there are better midfielders what Brother in Spira.
One of the best parts of Blitzball is, that the AI players of other teams levels up, learns new abilities like you do. (your players)
At one point i took a challenge where i was hoping to get every Blitzball player to at 99 level, with all the abilities.
I got pretty close, doesn't take THAT long, due to the above, but i kinda got tired of doing that, eventually.

Man i wish fans woukdbget together and develop a blitzball game. I was addicted to this but it was too predictable
I never noticed Brother was so important for Blitzball, I used to win every match even without him because I also have my strategy for winning blitzball and it is indeed super easy, but when I noticed his stats on Blitzball and then saw your video, then I thought "ok, makes sense", lol.
Here is my strategy anyway:
1) DON'T, and I repeat DON'T play Blitzball in automatic mode, it sucks believe me, control the players yourself in Manual Mode 'cause it's damn easier.
2) If you are the one who grabs the ball at the beginning of the match you should go like 3 or 4 steps defensive (you don't necessarily need to go next to your goalie you just need to find enough space between you and your opponent so that they won't be able to tackle you.
3) Once you've found enough space, PASS the ball to either Tidus or your best forward...that is, if that forward has enough space...if not, try to pass maybe to the Midfielder or to another Defender I don't know, depends on who has the most space, and who is the one uncatcheable by the opponents.
4) Once you see that your forward does have enough space between him and the defenders of the other team, SHOOT. Do not hesitate about that. Oh...and even if you have 2 defenders against you (especially if you are controlling Tidus) you have Jecht Shot which will smash them in the face and allow you to score.
5) If you scored, well done, if you didn't, you have to go ahead and try once again the same stuff until you score.
Brother can score too, basically whenever he wants.
I'm currently playing the switch version. Using the original Aurochs with Datto switched out for Tidus.
Tidus, Wakka, Letty, Jassu, Botta, Keepa. 1 draw early on, 53 wins out of 54 games.

You forgot to mention you can get jecht shot 2 from blitzball which I guess is better then the original shot but at the same time just like getting the stuff for Wakkas ultimate weapon if you don't play using this setup or something similar you just don't want to get it even tho it's a bit of an upgrade

I keep losing every game. I really don't understand. I'm up against 3 people, all three tackles me. They're up against three of me, one person tackles only.
Another instance is I have say 20 endurance, opponent has 14 he can steal the ball of me when he tackles.
When I try it, they get 6 end remaining.
Try luring the enemies away from their goal. Then pass to Tidus near the goal. Get close and use Jecht shot. Lmk if that works out.

@@doanhdinh6997 its because if your stats is lets say 20, you still get a mix between +10 or -10 in your action. For example, you shoot with 30SH and Nimrok have 25CA, he can get to up 37-38CA if RNG choose his side. But he can also go down with 25/2=12,13CA and you will score even with 15SH.
My recent run of Blitzball where I have to win the Crystal cup. I had 5 sudden deaths, damn Psyches didn't want me to win. But beat them with a solitary goal.
Why is everyone soooo overhyped on brother. I agree he's good, but why are u waisting time swimming? Linna from start scores from ludacris distances napshot 3+ golden arm + a insane high SHT stat. And yeah she's mid because her end. scks but her pass is just as good as her shoot so even with 3 guys on her she has no problem getting the ball away. Her defensive stats are also decent, and midfielders are overleveled because midfielders start with the ball each round.
Also Linna can be recruited on the icebridge before entering macalania(shiva) temple she sits on the edge just after going down the stairs at the start of the map. So you don't have to wait until you get the airship. To get an insane midfielder that will help you crush anyone.

All you ever really need is the Jecht shot. If you have that, you can get everything from the side quest pretty easily, even without recruiting better players.
Yep, the only other thing I'd recommend is picking up Wedge in Luca since his early stats are so good, I think he starts out with like 17 shot at level 1, and has high endurance.
Yeah I fucked up the Jecht Shot not knowing how important it is. Then my friend tells me when i mentioned blitzball, oh yeah hope u nailed the jecht shot lol.
wedge is a great alternative for brother as well. he starts with very high shooting and gets a lot of attack and endurance. but if you want to tackle those 20-0 victories brother is defenitely the best in slot for starting blitzball.

You pretty much did what I did but I wanna say that Jecht Shot is not important to beat blitzball at all though and he can still miss (nimrook shenanigans). You dont need to start a new game unless you want psn trophies
All you need to beat blitzball is brother and any decent striker that can beat nimrook until you get nimrook. Tidus is just preferable because if you do get attacked he has jecht shot.
Why? Brother just kites 4 players away from the goal towards the side of the sphere (bottom of the screen) and passes back to the striker for an open goal. Impossible to lose
I like Ropp more for midfielder. Once you get higher up in levels Brother peters off in stats but Ropp becomes a brick wall.
Like how is 0:56 a thing it won't let me control my characters in blitz ball
get wedge and brother and you can get over 21 points a game because wedges attack is ridiculous you get the ball back as soon as they do anything and wedge has a natural shot of 17

I haven't lost a match yet with the original Besaid Aurochs (including Tidus). Waiting till the end of the game to start playing seems a bit strange I would rather have some of those prizes early on. I got attack reels 4 games in, got lucky first tournament that popped up as soon as blitz becomes available at save points, though through saving before seeing the prizes and then reloading that save if they aren't the prizes you want can also work I've been told. Just pass dude. Brother is a great call, Nimrook for goalie hands down, and the chick in Besaid (villucha spelling?) is also amazing.
Michael Lucas absolutely just reset it later but get your abilities and return spheres I always have crazy amount of them to save me from returning to a spot I want to go

Am I the only blitzball player that keeps most of the besaid aurochs? Lol they’re not all that bad. Botta and keepa are definitely the worst but letty and Jassu are both pretty solid at their positions. Datto is decent with his speed as well. I also hardly ever lose a game too.

When trying the Jecht shot use the analog stick
This is all wrong. You don't need no players. The Besaid Aurochs is all you need, You don't need the Jecth shot it's the worst shot to use. The Sphere shot is the best. When you use the Jecth shot against Nirook, he will catch the ball most of the time . Plus when you start playing the first games you can only use them 2 times a game. When you play the first game if Letty gets the ball hit Triangle button Select A and Normal. Then pass ball between Letty Tidus,and Jassu. Them when the time gets to 4 minutes make sure Jassu has the ball swim along the edge break through Abus swim down and draw Balgerda away pass to Tidus swim as close as you can shoot if done right point 1 end of first half. In the same thing but this time you don't need to get as close you have the Sphere Shot not the wimpy Jecht shot but at 2 Minutes do the same thing if done right point 2. Then Wakka comes out pass ball from Wakka to Botta at 4 Minutes make sure Wakka has ball get as close as you can use Venom shot if done right point 3 game over you win. And the number ( 1 ) thing in this game passing the ball around don't try to make A lot of goals. Just what you need to win. You want to keep your levels higher then the other players so it's easier to copy their moves.but do every game that way. The Al Bhed will be a pain. Now if you do this you should be able to win every game. And when you get golden arm at Lv 12 you should be able to make the Jecth shot look wimpy. Trade places with Tidus, and Jassu You should be able to swim behind your Goalie and do what I call a super shot 50/50 Sphere shot . At Lv.12 you should be able to make that shot but you need to pay attention to the Goalie so you can learn win to use it let's see you get behind your Goalie and make that with the Jecth shot at Lv.12 NOT

Yeah... you dont need Brother,jechtshot,or wait for the end of the game.Get wedge(guard in luca) his great early shotter,mid def,late game keeper. Learn key teq,make sure every def has wither/venom attacks, attackers tackleslip and some kind of shot..
Ok so jechtshot, great first 10 games. why is it not best shot? 1.tidus have rly low att and block early on he will never get the ball at the start from their midfielder.2. Jecht shot has a 23sec animation.( if you pass to a guy drag def and pass back it will still be alot of quicker) so early on best shots in the game are venom,wither,nap 1-2-3.
Reason begin if you dont wait to endgame and pick up endgame players before you start, you want to ether score as much as possible to beat your pbest or try and force them to use abilitys you can learn.More time more xp/abilitys.
You can win every match just fine with standard team,alltho learning abilitys quick is important. a enemy player will try and break a Botta with 4at all the time, if he has +5-10 att from wither/venom he will get the ball most of the time. If your new and want to play the game and win easy, first set mode to manual a.pick up Wedge,maybe even Jumal,Zalitz in Luca. Then go for goals and abilitys. Or just jecht shot and drag out time,not rly fun or smart if your going to play alot but sure.

Ok but why cant i control where my team moves and how do i stop the other team from moving? Even with jetch shot i can only use it once or twice a game?
Also, brother doesn't seem to be able to do much at all and his pass is weak at best. Is there a basic blitzball control that I'm missing? My goalie can't make a single save and I'm lucky to get 3 goals

I mean you only need Tidus and his incredibly OP as f Jehct shot to win. No need for OP teammates like Brother and Nimrock(best goalie in game by far). I’m averaging over 5 goals per game with Tidus.

To do a perfect attack reel, try too focus on the green 1 hit icon. It took me a while to figure out once you push the button at that moment, the reel flips over the nasty cross and jumps on the perfect 2 hit blue icon. Once you figure out this trick, you never miss a perfect reel attack again.
The hard truth I need to start over. 😅 well at least I know.

+You're Tearing Me Apart, Lisa !! this footage is recorded from the hd remaster. so yes xD and yeah you should reset and grab brother, this strategy isn't quite like you see in the video when you start at level one obviously, the characters need to learn their moves and shit. but once you gain a few levels this strategy you see here never fails. you'll never lose a game again

You can do exhibition games against the team that has Brother save it before his contract ends and do it till team signs another player. Then Brother is free and you can get him.
I personally like Milfrey better she is super Slow early on but she becomes a total beast and has tackle slip 2. Better stats than Brother except for speed. You can get her in Thunder plains but she is super expensive. 320 gold for one game
Jeckht shot 100% More like 99% because i have ran into a goalie with a ability that incrased it catch points higher. And i was close too!
What formation is like an all out attack? On my side the team stays with me at best instead of camping at the goal.
I lose a game almost every time. I have Brother, but it isn't making a difference. I won 1 game w/o being matched, but EVERY other game I am losing hands down.
Not to be a dick, but I'll keep it simple and straightforward, so put the emotions aside and heed my assessment and advice... you suck. Plain and simple. If you are still losing nearly every game, you can only come to the logical conclusion that you don't understand HOW to win, and/or can't translate good advice into practice. You don't need Brother, and you don't need to lose a bunch before you have enough experience to win. You can start winning immediately, even the very first game against the Luca Goers.
I suggest going over the tutorials again to start. Then, when you are ready to play, first recruit the right squad. Tidus alone can keep you winning, but the right squad will lead to complete domination and blowouts, and ultimately make your blitzball experiences more enjoyable, and profitable.
1st, cover your blitzball tutorials. 2nd, recruit a solid squad and ditch most of the default Besaid Auroch squad... I personally ditch them ALL. 3rd, make sure you learn the Jecht Shot while on the boat. Tho it isn't necessary to have that technique to still win, it will definitely make things easy when first competing. 4th, align your players properly according to their stats for what position to assign them to. 5th, equip any techs you may already have, and "mark" the opposing team's players whose techs you wish to learn that are highlighted in blue, such as Wither Shot for example, or Sleep Pass. Lastly, once the game starts, keep mashing that triangle button until you get the sub menu to turn OFF AUTO!!! You need to be in control on offense, not the CPU, so ditch the default AUTO setting to allow you to control your own players on offense.
Now just apply everything you learned about stats and passing and shooting, and the wins are practically free.

Pretty bad advice here, there are loads of good free agents straight after Luca (Jumsl, Zalitz, Wedge, Shami, Zev Ronso), easy to get Attack Reels early on. Jecht Shot is not missable. So much misinformation.
