So I say this because I want you to enjoy this game just a little more. The party is upbeat for their own reason and sorta for Tidus. It's readily apparent at the start of the game that whether Tidus is from Zanarkand or not, he clearly does not know what happens to the Summoner. Part of them staying positive is to counteract the sorta.. shitty quest they're on. When Tidus and Yuna "badly laugh" they voice actors are purposefully fake-laughing. Yuna is trying to tell him that.. no matter who is killed by Sin, making yourself laugh or smile will help you continue the journey.

Jason Deutschbein I'm honestly surprised people think the laugh was bad voice acting, and not purposely made forced and awkward.

Jason Deutschbein Personally, I didn't think it was "bad voice acting," bevause its pretty obvious by how bad it is that its intentionally bad. But its still an awkward moment that kinda weirded me out lol

The context of the scene is clear: they are faking the laughter. Even the other party members look at Tidus and Yuna with surprise and concern. Also, it was a 2001 PS2 game, of course the cutscene direction and dubbing would be a little awkward.

FFX had a likeable cast . Probably a unpopular opinion but I liked all of them . Tidus was a relatable protagonist and was cheeky . Yuna was adorable and a sweet girl . Wakka was funny af . Lulu had a charm to her . Rikku was upbeat and cheerful . Auron is the pure badass uncle . Kimahri was the silent killer yet had a lot of funny moments .

One small correction (from someone currently playing the game who makes a point of using EVERY character in EVERY battle to keep everyone on leveling pace): You do NOT have to hit the enemy to give that character experience. In fact, you just have to DO something. Sometimes I'll switch someone in and just hit triangle to guard, then finish the battle. The person who literally just guarded and did nothing else still gets experience.

Just a quick tidbit of info. SuperButterBuns said you need to hit the enemy at least once to gain exp. this is not exactly true. The character needs to do at least one action. This could be something like guarding (pressing triangle) or even using something like cheer. So long as the character made one action they will gain exp. they do not have to hit the enemy.

LOL! Powering up the Celestial Weapons is NOT EASY!! Getting chocobo wings is a pain in the ass until you have a really strong party. And grinding takes several hours without the crazy experience tricks that take a strong party as well! But yeah, once you have these things the game is cake until the last few Dark Aeons, and finally Penance which is nearly impossible if your concentation lapses for a couple turns..... Man smh...0.0 chocobo race time, 200 lightning bolts, catching butterflies, and chasing cactaurs is just brutal LOL!!! FF12 is still the worst one for obtaining rare weapons and items.

    • @leeman27534
      @leeman27534 3 года назад +3

      ha easy sure
there's only 3 that actually feel 'easy' to get - and one of them isn't as useful as a custom weapon probably anyway
imo get auron's get rikkus and maybe get kimhari's - yunas is also fine just not a great melee character - and then if still needing one more person pick whoever makes for decent melee unit and go for BDL with the first batch of dark matter you get and probably armor pierce str +20% and str +10% (it's a buff - it works at 255 str) to sort of make up for not having celestial weapon attack formulas - especially if a multihitter like tidus or wakka
even getting auto haste isn't a light chore if you're not already broken as shit - and celestial weapons aren't totally boss if you don't have 255 str anyway and by then the game is well and truly putty - but the process sure as hell ain't 'easy' it's long and time consuming at best - hell getting the arena going requires killing 10 of every basic bitch foe in the entire game - good luck with that

I was only 11 when I got the game. And I understood that that laughter was intentionally done that way because way before that scene he kept saying he misses home, he misses zanarkand and the need to be back there grows inside him by the minute. He even said the need gets bigger and bigger inside him and he just wants to go home, add the fact that he also found out that his dad whom he thought dead for 10y3mo was a renowned guardian in a world he was dragged in (when his dad was already famous in their old world too) and the things he and his mom had to live with to for years after Jecht's "death" and how he couldnt tell everyone the truth about his ignorance of the world and culture of Spira because not everyone would believe he is from Zanarkand of 1000y ago and that he just offed bosses after bosses not to mention had to burst into the cloister of trials lol he was going through a lot and an 11 yo child that was me knew that that laughter was his way of coping up with maybe tears that wanted to come out of him. The frustration the fear of the unknown and many other things . . . It was a blessing he didnt do worse than just laugh that awkward "I'm not happy and im torn inside" laughter. And that lots whinge about how awkward and fake and awkward (again) that laughter was only proved that it was not BAD ACTING but that it was executed PERFECTLY. Lol people should say next time "that laughter was so awkward therefore it was so bad that it was damn good".

Pro tip: Level up, like, a _lot_ and make sure you have hastega and reflect before you enter the Zanarkand cloister of trials. You'll thank yourself for having saved several attempts on a 3-phase boss that knows Megadeath (a spell that is impossible to reflect and outright kills your entire party. Only ways to get around it are having the zombie status applied to you, which this boss can do, but that makes it so you can't heal, or having death ward/deathproof armor). Also, there's, like, 5+ minutes of unskippable cutscenes right before this boss. It is, by far, the most difficult part of the game.

Or, better yet, make one strong blitzball with 3 abilities of your choosing, but make sure stonerouch is on it, stonerouch works on dang near everything, and it triggers CONSTANTLY. Heck, you could probably just throw stonetouch on everyone and trivialize every enemy encounter forever.

Advice: When you get to an area set a goal for yourself, like collect all 99 spheres (or whatever they are called) that each character can hold at once, (do that twice for certainty) Or even make it so even Yuna can one hit-kill each enemy. Then advance.

The only requirements are 1) the character performs at least 1 action in the battle- this even includes pressing triangle to defend, 2) the character has at least 1 HP at the end of the battle, 3) the character is not petrified at the end of the battle, and 4) the character was not ejected from battle by an enemy (escaping/fleeing is acceptable)

I never went with the healing between battles. Mostly because i didnt usually have yuna for my main set up. Cuz I mean. You'll play half the game without her anyway. So she can summon an aeon as a meat shield. Tidus can flee, which is pretty much a 100% run away chance (except bosses) Rikku has early access to al bhed potions, which can only be used in battles. (Aoe, heals 1k hp and I believe poison blind and petrification) your only real threats here are marlboros. Which are... still a cause of game overs before you grab first strike. Or stat immunity every character.

If you go into various FAQ's or check message boards the general consensus is usually "Oh, you don't need to grind! the game is set up near perfectly to just let you play it and beat it to get the story!". To which I simply declare BULLSHIT! Grinding is a must in certain parts unless you just find convenient places to knock it out to get a head start (like I did my most recent play through where I just slaughtered sin scales for like 4 hours).
