    My CPX3 has been excellent so far 500 rounds of Monarch steel case ammo only one did not cycle the slide. I checked and it cleared the barrel. I could tell, it was a lite pop that sounded like a primer and no powder. I don't carry this gun however it is in the car in a get home bag. My carry is a .38 snub nose Taurus 856. Great shooting and an excellent review.

    I just got one of these--$206 OTD. Haven't got to shoot it yet; my preferred indoor range is being upgraded. It is larger and heavier than the LCP Max I am replacing with it, but that should mean less recoil and snap . The trigger is really heavy; like you, I am having to use the first point on my finger to pull it; using my fingerprint pad is painful (and that is just dry-firing). Nothing wrong with my Max; the trade-out is for financial reasons. If my CPX functions as well as yours, I will be quite satisfied.
    UPDATE: I have test-fired the CPX-4. I put 50 rounds through it with no malfunctions, so I am happy about that, but I can't hit the broad side of a barn with it (at 25 feet my 'groups' were basketball-sized), and about 1-in-4 casings came back and hit me, and I don't know how many others barely missed me. I am thinking that I might sell it and get something else, maybe a Ruger Security ,380.

    My SCCY CPX2 was a Jam-O-Matic, tried everything to solve the problems, finally sold it out of frustration. My SCCY CPX4 has been reliable from day one. Trigger is fine, for me anyway, recoil very manageable.

    I wanted a double action, inexpensive 380 that had good mag capacity, easy to see sights and could be easily concealed. I am not a fan of the Ruger LCP Max after owning two and getting pinched and slapped every time I pulled the trigger no matter what part of my finger was on the trigger or where. I own a Sig P238 and a Sig P365 in 380 which are excellent 380s. I liked my Glock 42 except for the capacity and random feeding problems and I am okay with a Taurus Spectrum even though both of the ones I owned had to be returned for warranty repair.
    I got the SCCY CPX3 380. Like RR, I like just about everything about it except for the really long, heavy trigger press and hard wall. If you haven't actually pressed one of these triggers........there is nothing like it. After a couple of mags I ordered the MCarbo trigger improvement springs kit. That kit was easy to install and is very inexpensive. Now at least for me, the trigger press is manageable and actually quite pleasant. 200 rounds through it with only one light primer strike on some remanned ammo which fired on second strike. Very comfortable grip, very low recoil, easy to rack slide, good mag capacity and good sights. For the $149 that I paid for mine and the $25 trigger improvement kit, so far I am happy and enjoy shooting the SCCY CPX3.

      I'm with you but a local shop is selling the CPX-3 for $159 and I've spent more than that at a restaurant and gotten heartburn. Looks like it is rugged enough and well built for the price and SCCY's rep is that they stand behind their stuff. MCarbo sells a trigger spring kit that cuts the pull weight in half, though not sure if that might lead to some light strikes with some primers. Still want to get one for kicking around with and won't be too worried if it gets scatched, and if you're a halfway decent shot then a good defensive round should work out if its ever needed.

    I owned a CPX-2 in 9mm and it kept breaking after 500+ rds. Each time it was something different that broke and each time SCCY fixed it, but after the 3rd time I gave up and sold it because they just aren't made durable enough to last. Maybe the 380acp version will last longer because it's shooting lower power 380acp ammo. If all you are doing is shooting 50rds per year they'll probably last a while, but I still wouldn't trust it with my life. My advice is to save up a little more money and buy a used Glock.

    • @RidersRange
      @RidersRange  Год назад +2

      I'm just guessing here, but I'd be surprised if more than 1% of SCCY owners shot more than a box or two of ammo in a year.

    If you're aiming dead on the bulls eye it's POA POI is way better than the LCP ll 380 and the newest iteration 75th Anniversary stainless steel LCP Max that I have...both have garbage POA POI...😆👍

    • @RidersRange
      @RidersRange  3 месяца назад +1

      My test of the CPX-4 is a sample of one. Others may differ. However, my Point Of Aim (POA) was dead center at 15 yards, but the Point Of Impact (POI) was about 3" high left. That may be better than the LCP II, thought not better than MY LCP Max.

    • @Soli_Deo_Gloria_.
      @Soli_Deo_Gloria_. 3 месяца назад

      Awesome... it sounds like you hit the lottery and got an anomaly with the LCP Max... because the country is saturated with garbage POA POI guns... So much so that Ruger in their attempt to deal with their service center because flooded with garbage guns needing repair have now started sending out complete slides and barrels to people in the mail... Which goes against their own stated propaganda in manuals and on the website; that they do not send parts out and you must receive an RMA from them and send it in... Obviously they violated their own policy because they are bleeding out money with every gun an employee has to handle.... But congratulations on hitting power ball... lol
