- Activation of Lane Assist (Heading Control Assistant) in #VW Golf MK7 using OBDeleven #coding. Car equipped with front-facing multifunction camera can be coded with #LaneAssist that will keep the car on your lane when you don't touch steering wheel for couple seconds. This coding procedure will turn on the feature in the camera and steering, also add option to the instrument cluster and adjustment settings on the infotainment screen.

Personalization lane departure warning at a terminal 15 → Last setting
Module 44 → Security Access → 19249

Byte 00 → bit 4 (Lane Assist) → installed
Module: 17 → Long Coding:
Byte 04 → bit 6 (Lane Assist) → installed
Byte 11 → bit 1 (Lane Assist information via BAP) → active

Car Function List BAP Gen2 → LDW HCA 0x19 → activated
Car Function List BAP Gen2 → LDW HCA 0x19 msg bus → databus extended
Car Function Adapts Gen2 → Menu Display Lane Departure Warnign → activated
Car Function Adapts Gen2 → Menu Display Lane Departure Warnign over threshold high → activated
Press and hold volume knob for 10 seconds to reboot the system. Enable Lane Assist feature. Take the car for a test drive.
ℹ️ Some coding addresses will be different in newer modules / firmwares.
ℹ️ This procedure might be the same for other MQB platform cars like Seat Leon 5F, Skoda Octavia 5E, Audi A3 8V. You can also use other diagnostic tools, like VCDS, VCP, CarScanner ELM327.

Z tego co pokazałeś , mam kamerę w tym samym miejscu - jak wspomniałem - ma DLA , Martwe pole , czujniki 360, Front assist I " wyjazd z parkingu " ...cokolwiek to znaczy . Dziwi mnie brak składanych elektronicznie lusterek - może mógłbyś się zająć kilkoma - rzeczami. Za odpowiedź , ogromne dzięki !
Do you code Lane Assist and ACC remotely? I bought the kit from China, but the original front radar used, the same code as the Passat, as for the Lane assist, I bought the entire kit from China. However, the company that has the greatest expertise here in the region only wants to do the coding if I had purchased the parts from them. My budget is tight, they charge 1/4 of the value of the car. My car is a golf Variant mk7 mexican, I live in Brazil.

I have a question for you. Are you okay with the way how DSG transmission is shifting gears in Drive mode? Because I have this transmission and I feel like the transmission is shifting too early which causes the result of cruising in the city 55km/h tacho and transmission shifts into 5th gear with around 1200 rmp when I can feel vibrations in steering wheel as they were in my old passat b5 tdi. I am really thinking about get the remap of DSG shifting points because of that and I think it is not really healthy for dual-mass flywheel.
Shift points is the single thing that I don't like about my DSG. Too low in Drive, Too high and too aggressive in Sport.It works best for me when DPF is regenerating and ECU requests higher shift points while keeping the comfort shift speeds.
@@mrfixpl That's it! I experienced the same thing! I was really pleased with shifting during DPF regeneration. So that is the reason why I am really thinking about getting DSG remap by professional garage. Have you ever concidered it too? Or what is your opinion about this topic? Thank you!

Thanks, in my case module 44 didn't accept coding for HCA and I had to update firmware to the latest version, from 5Q0909144P to 5Q0909144AB

No solution for my camera. But doable in facelift cameras, as far as I know.

Did you have to calibrate the camera after installing it before using? Or have you already had Lane assistent originally installed in your car ?
Because I have already seen somewhere that during retrofit Lane assistent you still need to calibrate the camera for the system to work properly, the same as after changing the windshield
I believe calibration is only needed if you did not have the same camera modules installed from stock
@@wocaomade thats wrong. Every camera has to be calibrated. Wether its a new one or used. Doesnt matter.
Hi! I ve arleady installed lane asyst in my Passat b8 2018" using VCDS. The only thing I didnt do- I didnt mark in Module A5 Long coding-> byte 00 ( 16 byte in vcds)-> bit 0- here it is called "LaneAsyst_AGW_output", but i marked only bit 7- called HC 0=not coded/1=coded)". The lane asyst works very well, in radio I can mark: lane asyst, adaptptive lane guidance, and "warning power" "weak, medium, strong. It shows lane asyst on the clocs. The question is: do you know what Byte 16 , bit 0 (LaneAsyst_AGW_output) is responsible for in A5 module? The only thing I dont have is steering wheel wibration and I dont have this option also in radio screen. Do u know how to turn it on?
There is an alternative, our cars support openpilot, it even works without the windscreencamera :)

What partnr camera? 2Q0, 3Q0, 5Q0 have different codings. So maybe handy to mention that its for 3Q0 camera etc?
its a 5Q camera here, you can see it when he shows his windscreen.
But you are right, codings are different between the models. Its crucial that hes not mentioning which camera he is coding.

My car is a Golf 7 2016, Btw, the dislay between your rpm and speedo meter is in back and white. i have a color display, i thought every 2016 golf 7 had it in color, aparently not
You would need to replace the windscreen for proper retrofit. There's also couple plastic things like mounting bracket, cover, different rear view mirror. On top of that: wiring, parameterization, calibration of the camera. A lot of work and cash.

Mk7 cars sense your hands on the wheel by way of pressure pulling down on the wheel, Mk7.5 cars do this via touch sensors in the wheel itself.
Some people put a bottle of water into the spokes of the steering wheel and this fools the car into believing your hands are pulling the wheel down on Mk7 cars!
there is a 60 seconds and an unlimited dataset for the A5 Modul. Has to be flashed via VCP or ODIS-E.

Hello, is it possible to lower the minimum speed required for Lane assist and eliminate the notification for keeping the hands on the steering wheel?
Thats possible. There are data sets that let you drive 60 secs without hands on and one for unlimited. I actually got the 60 secs Dataset on my A5.
Minimium Speed differs from dataset, too and ACC, and and and ... :)

Passat B8 is pretty much the same generation as Golf MK7. But I will try to make some Passat specific tutorials.

Wiring for what? Camera got two Extended Bus cables, high and low, masse and Zündungsplus.

Which version of OBD11 you use please, on site we found 4 types, 40€, 100€, 59€, 200€?
Old white device is for android phones only. New black device is for iOS and android.
You also need PRO license. So you can get a PRO pack which includes PRO license and the device.

This depends on the market if it was standard or optional equipment.

When you hit the button on the indicator stalk, you go to the driver assistance menu in the instrument cluster. There I see the option front assist. But in some videos of other users I also see acc/lane assist for example. Is there a way to activate this on my car or is this dependent from the modules in the car? Obviously the car has to have the specific option.
That option is gonna be activated in Dashboard Module 17 :)

Passat B8.5 will have newer camera, that's for sure. So most likely this option in the camera is at different byte/bit address.

No. Did it directly with long coding and adaptations.
Have by yourself added that module?
My car was originally equipped with the camera. But since the same camera is used for Traffic Sign Recognition, Dynamic Light Assist, and Lane Assist you might have the camera and don't have the Lane Assist option activated from the factory.
The same deal with the front facing radar. It's used both for Active Cruise Control and Front Assist (automatic braking). You can configure the car from the factory to have Front Assist and regular cruise control. And you are just 2 steps away from ACC - needs buttons and coding, AFAIK (might also need FEC/SWaP code in gateway for ACC but not sure if that's correct if vehicle is already equipped with regular CC).

Hi mate, cool video thanks for sharing it! I would appreciate if you can give me an idea how setup my new Tiguan 2023. I got the car yesterday and the lane assist is driving me crazy going from line to line. From UK forums I’ve found that cars after 2020 are missing the adaptive lane assist. I very much hope that some settings can improve this.

Camera fault, dirty windscreen, missing calibration... Best to perform full scan of the vehicle.

Do you know how to set the interval from 10 to 60 seconds. Some people do this but i've heard it can't be done with VCDS?
Its done via flashing Datasets on the A5 Module. This only works with VCP or ODIS-E.

Hi. My car already has the the lane assist setup but lately I have noticed that car is late to adjust the steering wheel to centre the car in lane.
Also on the dashboard, the 2 lane assist line is not as bright as it was before. It only becomes brighter when the car touches the white line on the road.
Anything I can do to make it stay in the middle of the lane please.

First of all, a Lane Assist need a Parameterization Data to work absolut correctly!!
And than Coding!
Without Parameterization you have one warning Step.
With Parameterization you have multiple warning Steps and a emergency Brake!
Maybe in A6 C7, but not in MQB vehicles AFAIK.

One warning Step is not correct for Lane Assist.
Correct Lane Assist have three warning Steps and final a emergency Brake.
@@R-Line7 actually you are part of right about parameter with camera…coz he has 5Q …first gen camera,and that one doesn’t support emergency assist…That’s the reason no need to parameter…if he has 3Q… second gen you are right about parameter file…

Jeżeli kamera jest już w samochodzie, to nie trzeba jej kalibrować. Zostało to zrobione przy jej montażu i bez kalibracji nie działałyby pozostałe jej funkcje (Dynamic Light Assist, Traffic Sign Assist).
