i killed a named werewolf mage named Geirrhafa in a frost cave yesterday that had frost, aoe melee and melee attacks. Using lvl 3 iron sword and lvl 3 drueger bow it took a long time to kill him. He dropped his head /trophy and Hildir's silver chest. I didn't know he existed.
I will never turn raid events off, even if bats killed all my boars and some of my chickens (they did). I play the game completely vanilla, love it. The tower looks cool btw.
@@Pimpemon For the chickens that is indeed the way to go. Boars and Lox cannot eat or breed when completely sealed off and under a roof so that's not working. I assume same applies for wolves.
A shame that we can't build inside, but that makes sense in terms of balance! If you stick to vanilla world settings, might be difficult to build a full-scale base since you can't portal your way up with metal. Easiest way to use the tower IMO would be as a portal hub. Base should be safe after killing Moder, as bats aren't really a threat to structures, and Gjall raids don't trigger in the Plains.
If you're going to use a portal to get into your base you don't really need to put the portal at the base of the tower, just kind of nearby. That way raids won't destroy it.
in social media and on discord this has always been a HUGE ISSUE because as there are many that love a challenge (like me) and build fortress because they love getting raided and testing their defenses, there is also many that only like to build but not to explore/fight (go figure it out i couldnt comprehend why they annoy the rest of us when they can turn off such setting on their clieents/server using commands in a VIKING FANTASY GAME....) still they got nerfed mistlands mob difficulty (seekers spawn less often, less 1 and 2 stars spawns and wander around before attacking when they used to relentlessly gangbanged you before...), raids in general (Seekers soldier used to spawn in seekers raid, wolfs used to hunt you in all biomes now only in 2, the troll raid last less than it used to, etc) and many more mechanics/mobs that were "too mean and punished you" (i known im ranting a lot but the GAME TEACHES YOU TO FIGHT BACK and when exploring to go prepared with foods, wellrested, meads, etc but this ppl got heavily carried or bruteforced their way until they couldnt do so anymore) so longgggggg story short after mistlands tartarum developpers decided to add difficulty settings so they dont continue to nerf each challenge they implement ingame because of crybabys tantrums...
I found this tower while exploring with the monsters in peaceful mode, and I didn't attack the monsters inside the tower since I didn't have the equipment to deal with them. I just explored it (and died to traps twice). It is a shame that it isn't possible to build inside it, but I can understand the reason since it would be a 100% impregnable base. I've never liked raids, so I turn them off now and don't have to worry about defenses. Still, this structure would make a nice core for an enormous building. A huge stone or black marble skyscraper could be built around it. I'm imagining an ugly stone tower that looks like a Soviet apartment bloc. Considering the amount of resources necessary to do this, I think the cheat that allows for resource-free building would be essential.
meh, not interested in hauling metal up to the top of that thing, and if your base isn't where you're smelting and forging, what's the point in having it?
Personally I'm waiting for the actual Ashlands update before I start a new world, but the idea of making a circular 3D base around this tower is something I'm planning on doing now.
I made a base with a "glass floor" one side of the crystal wall has to be grounded on something, even making 3 teir windows was seemingly impossible without internal framing
Bruh... I am increasing raid events by 3x P.S. Seekers DO fly this high. you are just out of their range. Throw an abyss spear down and they will fly to you
A bit disappointing we cant build in it. My first thought when I found out was great build spot..but not so much if you just have to build on top. Still could make for some cool builds just using it like a big tree
This is dumb.. just build your base on an island a decent distance from the shore and call it a day.. my friend and I never had to deal with any of the raids in the 80 hours we played last time on our island base.. we didn't even use any walls.
Honestly, the most OP base is a decent black marble structure surrounded by a vertical dirt wall with dirt crenellations, surrounded by a moat, and connected with a meta bridge (i.e. dirt bridge narrower than your character with railing exactly the width of your character). Creatures can’t walk across the bridge and nothing can climb up the moat and wall, and (if wide and tall enough) seekers won’t even try to fly over it.
People complain about raids? I know the drakes are annoying, but proper ascetically pleasing defensive buildings will fend off most raids. Bum rushing the trolls naked with a knife handles the only one that is a real problem. First build I ever built was a hill fort, only raids that ever bothered it was Drakes.
I think people mostly complain that the raids are boring and annoying. The game incentivizes people to seek invulnerable defenses (which the game does provide via trenches and earth walls) and/or to leave your base in order to draw focus away from your supposedly defensible structures. Raids as a concept are neat but they are poorly implemented and just become a chore you have occasionally thrust upon you with no interesting mechanics to use to deal with them.
Without the ability to fly building this would be rough and a huge wast of time. Def not the BEST spot and prob one of the worst altho the tower cannot take damage all of your structures can and will by the flying raids and you will need to rebuild. He sais it is unraidable in god mode flying around. I think he forgot hiw hard iron is to get for the beams and this is yet another terrible video from the one and only firespark 😂😂😂
Niw that you have brought this to light they are going to patch it. Just play the game stop looking for exploits. Raids are not that hard and def not worth all this trouble build a regular base this is lame.
Nothing attacks your base during raids! Quit roleplaying! The enemies want to kill you not your base. They could careless about your base. Ive never lost a single structure not even once. All raids are just uber for materials.
Mobs target players, mobs allied with the player like tamed wolves, light sources, crafting tables, and anything between them and targets of this kind that they can "see".
@@Areolainspecta Why would I sit in my base like a idiot? Just go out and kill them its pretty easy especially if you already finished mistlands. The enemies attack the player so base defenses are dumb. Some people just aren't as good. I have only survived two wolf raids. Both times I got very lucky with where I was at the time I had like 20 boar all killed by bats. I've had a black forest tower base mostly destroyed by trolls before I had time to get ready to go our and meet them. I have not had a gjall raid yet but watching them destroy dvergr structures I'm not looking forward to it. Guys this is playtest server. idk why he doesnt put this in the title but its not in the game yet.
I know this guy is awful with titles. I thought it was going to be some useful information on where to pit you base not how to hide from raids
I know an industrictible base is what they are trying to avoid but it's a hard base to clear so if you do the work you should get the spoils.

Can you break the very bottom of this tower for the entire thing to come down?
Destroy the foundation, destroy the base

Well that's lame.. (Not You) After we kill the medium baddie in there I want full control over their little tower lol..
I haz decorating to do.
Hey firespark have you ever made a vid on items from earlier biomes that are maybe essential to have or must save items for later use?
well done as always
Thanks!
they need to let us build inside of them
Agreed!! There's no reason the couldn't set it so that once you defeat the boss, it becomes a buildable area.

I can see why they dont.

There are mods that remove all building restrictions.
I wonder what would happen if you pickaxed all the dirt from under it? Would it float in mid air?
That's some dwarf energies you have right there.
I have learned that earth walls are quite possibly the best base defense in the game.

I'm pretty surprised they put a dungeon in world though.
Shhhh its amazing don't jinx it.
I can see them making the building stability of these towers lower so not much can be built on them.

Alguem ha desenvolveu algum codigo parw desligar essa força mistica de dentro da torre ?
meh, not interested in hauling metal up to the top of that thing, and if your base isn't where you're smelting and forging, what's the point in having it?
Easy fix is to make a Black Marble smelting area at the base and put your Portal to the top inside the smelting area.
Will we need to start a new world for this update? Thanks for your videos
Unless you have explored all islands on your world everything in the update will be able to appear on unexplored land.
Personally I'm waiting for the actual Ashlands update before I start a new world, but the idea of making a circular 3D base around this tower is something I'm planning on doing now.

Not yet. It's on public test server now so i am not playing it yet either on my pc, because i dont use the test server.

When will this update become public?
all content updates took ATLEAST 2 weeks to go live so far. so early july/tailend of june is most likely.
have you tried attaching metal grates to the black tower and then stone / black marble on top of that? Like the bridges in the mistland are built
You can raise chickens, but could you also do boars, wolfs etc in there, if you was to harpoon them in?
Thanks!
Free Range Chickens at last! Lol. ;)
Interesting possibilities here.
Hi all. Has anyone tried to use the build in dungeons mod as that may bypass the building restrictions. Thanks in advance :-)
Broadbent did. He built in a Troll Cave IIRC in his mod series
Not playing my live world in hopes one spawns near my yag outpost lol
Found this on the Plains, wondered what it was.
I wonder how far the “mystical force” no build area extends above the tower? I want to make the tallest tower in vanilla Valheim.
From top to bottom of map from what I can tell.
Mods to make it so you can build in mystical force areas are a thing, that is if the mods are working yet with this build of the game.
