I really disagree on the very popular BA is bad opinion. New club suite is very good, food is usually excellent, crew are amazing and friendly, and BA economy (long-haul) is pretty damn good as well.
@@theobent3942 I stopped flying ba years ago they have crammed those new club suites in “ virgin a330 neo upper class ( the exact same product as delta one A330 neos ) are far better than any ba product. plus the clubhouse at Heathrow makes the galleries and Concorde lounge look shameful . I've found BA to be good to be honest. No complaints each time I've flown with them. Criticisms of BA are overblown in my opinion. People jump on the bandwagon.
BA were not very good for quite a few years...but during last 2 years or so they are really turning things around. New Club World is great, FAs are excellent, the food is now really good. Also good loyalty programme with some great holiday deals.
Virgin is still a no brainier for me . upper class on the a330 neo is great and is the exact same product as delta one on there a330 neos plus the clubhouse is far better than any ba lounge at LHR plus a chauffeur to and from the airport to your home “ with a dedicated check-in “ It’s easy “ crew are friendly .
I would say Virgin business is more of a leisure business, not a ‘real’ business. It would impress the economy traveller who is treating themselves, but leave anyone else used to flying in premium class left hanging for something more.
Either Singapore SIN-JFK or Starlux would be awesome! Would love to hear about your experiences on the longest flight on earth and probably the airline with the most potential on earth.
Guaranteed business class product on a newer plane for less than $3500 round trip. (JFK LHR JFK) Way better setup than rolling the dice with a much older fleet at twice the price with delta, united, etc
Honestly: The title is a bit clickbaity. I can't remember that Virgin is known for its outstanding Business class. From you video I would say it's a pretty decent product with ups and downs. Don't get me wrong, Emirates or other similar Airlines do it better but Virgin gets you from A to B well rested
The Virgin brand and it’s contents needs a makeover. Most passengers want a good service, and don’t care about the cool factor the airline tries to present.
Great review Coby! One question though…the seats do NOT look like they are lie flat. Could you tell us as bit more about sleeping in different positions on the angled bed? Thanks
Doing NYC to DELHI this summer. Sadly - just knocked Virgin off my list. I won't pay premium for something that isn't premium. They have a "social area" yet you and your travel partner can barely talk in those seats. They are flying big planes - yet dont serve beef for the environment. Then this video makes excellent points. Ugh. Looks like I'm doing the Doha thing. THANK YOU FOR AN HONEST REAL REVIEW. I don't want "100% perfect" reviews if not warranted. Nor do I want a 100% complain session if not warranted. But you've pointed out REAL issues - things that wouldn't be acceptable at a mid-range chain restaurant. If flyers keep booming seats, they'll get away with it and things will get worse: Just look at America's airlines for a hint of what is to come. Hey, flyers, especially premium flyers - vote with your money. If not - don't complain and be happy with Stouffer's French Bread pizza.
Great trip report! Would personally like to see your take on Singapore Airlines' business class (feels overrated too) If you're looking for a somewhat underrated but really great product I strongly recommend ANA's The Room on majority of their 777-300ERs.
I completely agree with you on the IFE, I'm flying Delta in 2 weeks to ATL, it will be interesting to compare the two carriers content. I guess the crew make the experience, on my last flight from MIA to LHR in Upper Class, the crew couldn't of worked harder if they tried, they were catering to a particular demanding cabin.
Never been on virgin but this changed my opinion from “really want to try them out” to second guessing myself (due to price and expectations being lowered)
I've flown both aisle and in the center section. Aisle seats are pretty good but the seats in the center section are just awkward when you're traveling by yourself seated next to a stranger. The divider between the 2 seats feels "broken" as it only closes halfway, leaving you to see your seatmate's thigh when you're in the bed position!! OK I get the half doors to the aisle but in between seats? Just seems like poor design or cost cutting maybe?? It just looks and feels wrong. Even in older generation of business class with minimal to no privacy, there is at least a center console or large armrest/table between you and your seat mate....so only your upper body "lack privacy". But here you're literally shoulder to shoulder with a stranger and then head to head when you lay down...
Reeled in by the clickbait title here... I think you were unlucky with the crew - I've always found Virgin crew to be at least good. One thing I noticed that wasn't mentioned was the wear and tear / quality of the seat and surrounding bits. Like the A350 I flew on to LAX last year - the same actual aircraft I think - it was wearing very badly for such a new (to them) aircraft. Neither this or the 787 biz seat have much storage or privacy but I prefer the 787 for sleeping as it's less claustrophobic and closed in.
Flew virgin last year in May from Shanghai to London in 787, impressive service, but I do think they fed too much alcohol to the guests. A guy had at least 7-8 drinks sitting near me (as you may know about the lack of privacy on its 787 business class) started harassing people. The flight attendant had to try to tie him down into the seat with seat belt. Also by the time the plane landed he didn’t forget to throw up.😂😂😂😂😂
Would love to aee you review China Southern business class. I truly believe that they are going to be the next major player in world airline travel. Buy are they up to it? I hope so as I'm booked with them in September! 😂
Believe it or not it doesn't actually rain in London every day although this year so far has been a tad wet, but that aside, Virgin used to be very good and would offer a unique product but now unfortunately they are pretty average for a $10,000 fight that looked grim, the lighting should certainly be changed once cruising altitude has been reached, I would of been pretty dissapointed with that flight.
The 787 is even worse with it's seating configuration and how uncomfortable the seat is. Totally agree with your comments, I flew to Las Vegas in Upper Class a few weeks ago, very average really considering the price.
you should try the coffin bed seats! they are terrible. no storage, narrow and IFE system that is so old that you expect black and white!! you do get privacy though. agree Virgin is overpriced for it's business class unless you get reward tickets
I don't think your title is clickbait at all. If somebody thinks it's unreasonable to expect good service in Business Class they should just fly steerage and shut up.
No way you just said the A350 is overrated, at least it doesn’t plunge mid flight for no reason, and the JAL516 crash wasn’t due to any A350´s malfunction, plus honestly you can’t say in general that a plane is overrated, it doesn’t make any sense, as it’s the airline’s duty to edit the cabins, and honestly, the A350 is amazing and many airlines use it to replace a330s, b767, and even 777s
Can you imagine how much cheaper and eco friendly would be if less woukd be transported on board and rubbish raken out? If free food woukd be dine as free buffet and rume on board just resting , even toilets use / capacity coukd be reduced . Less weight , less risk , less fuel consumption , more capacity for commercial parcels/ revenue, and more price efficiency. Humans have not evolved much.
Pretty much mirrors my experience. I did SFO-LHR-SFO on the 787 prior to the pandemic. High expectations but walked away disappointed and determined never to fly VS again. Clubhouses, both SFO and LHR, were the highlight. The Dreamliner’s old herringbone layout hasn’t been competitive for years. Onboard service was uneven. Food deeply mediocre and small portions. Crew entertained a couple from premium economy (non-revs I’d guess) in the bar area for much of the overnight flight. Frankly I find United Polaris superior in most aspects.
I agree but it’s still a very respectable product in comparison to other airlines.
the reason why people love virgin atlantic (a rather good but not perfect airline) so much is because of how bad british airways is.
I really disagree on the very popular BA is bad opinion. New club suite is very good, food is usually excellent, crew are amazing and friendly, and BA economy (long-haul) is pretty damn good as well.

I agree, their fleet and route network is small and their code sharing agreements with other airlines are not that great
I feel the a330 Neo is pretty good, apart from that the rest of their fleet is rubbish
Either Singapore SIN-JFK or Starlux would be awesome! Would love to hear about your experiences on the longest flight on earth and probably the airline with the most potential on earth.
Across all their platforms, Virgin reminds me of something out of an 'Austin Powers' movie . . . enough with the red and purple!
Back in 2000 they actually had Austin powers on a Boeing 747 for a period of time

"In that gorgeous Virgin livery, she looks brand spanking new" bro knew what he was doing with those words

I’m not 100% but I’m pretty sure if you ask they’ll provide pajamas, that was my experience, weren’t provided unless you asked!
This was my experience as well! Great video

I suggest to try Qatar. Service quality might vary, but it’s quite nice in general.

Gonna be flying virgin’s premium economy this summer and the 350/787 for the first time to India
I really enjoy flying VS upper class.. shrug!
Yeah those pink purple lights are draining. Nice review tho!

same exact thing happened on my 787 flight from IAD-LHR. it was scary.
Here is the thing you can ask for pyjamas if you want them on virgin.
you dont fly Virgin... you use Virgin miles to book partner airlines like ANA

Love the sweatshirt 👍
A great review!
Good review. That rooftop terrace: not exactly Changi's Jewel is it?
Love the Costco hoodie. Where did you get it?
Costco haha

I think most flight attendants goof off on most us and European airlines. I would never pay for business or first class, I do not see the value in it.
Ditch the Costco hoodie next time, perhaps that was the issue ;)
“Stolen from Virgin Atlantic”, I have a set at home ☺️
🙄Stolen Sir?

Haha omg.... so sharp critics~~
good content, very annoying voice...
You can find far more competitively priced tickets than what you presented
Very annoying voice !
Condor is way more terrible than this…
Clickbait.
Complaints, complaints and more complaints… boring video, I did not finish it.
