When you remember that Mothra’s goal was to save the fairies responding to their song which was a cry for help. The song translates roughly to Mothra oh Mothra if we were to call for help over time and over sea you would come. Our guardian angel.
The natives need help and Mothra comes flappin'
Actually the song translates roughly to
oh mothra oh mothra with your mother's magic
bless the prayers of your lowly servants, arise and show your power
The courage to not show it in the trailer is pretty remarkable.
They might have avoided showing ir because they thought something that looks like a big, fuzzy butterfly would be a hard sell as a monster. I mean, remember that they also marketed Gojira vs. Mothra as Godzilla vs. The Thing here in the U.S. Avoiding both her image and her name.
What Is Really Happening
seems true.
I love that they didn't show adult Mothra. You can see her eye for a brief moment in the cocoon but that's it.
The Japanese trailer DID show her, a lot and it kinda ruins the mystery.
Well, the trailer I used was from Columbia where I followed fhrough the reconstruction version of the trailer in a scope ratio where I didn't want to show Mothra in its adult form but very barely into it.
Gusty yeah. but even though shes beautiful in the movies she actually looks alot more terrifying in the poster
Watching so many of these strange and awesome japanese giant monster movies along with their science fiction and horror films as well, hundreds of times on creature double features saturday afternoons over my loving great grandmothers house in rural new england, are like the enchanted highlights of my early youth, forever haunting and deeply imprinted into my youthful blown away mind and even now after so many years later i luv them just as much and maybe even more.
hmmmm.....mothra....moth-ra...
geez i have no idea what creature this might be
lolol!!!
Mothra leo
Anita Bonghit shes a giant moth. look in the desciption. although shes beautiful she can be VEEEERY dangerous when she finds out that the twin fairies are taken by humanity. beauty of monsters ALWAYS lie. but she became a protector after her rampage. same as godzilla (godzillas personality chanfes in diferent movies. protector and destroyer in some gozilla movies, unknown why)
Tay Cheetian it was a joke. The trailer asks what the creature could be. I am pointing out that its obvious by the name
it is a giant, kaiju sized moth
They basically gave away what Mothra is. I mean, you see a caterpillar and then you see a cocoon and if he name "[MOTH]ra" doesn't give her away, I don't know what does?
“how many times do you think we can say mothra during the trailer”
Happy 60th Anniversary Mothra Queen of the Monsters. This film is Awesome. Great Toho Classic.
FAN FAV ❤️
The mightiest monster in all creation! Ravishing a universe for love!
Im glad they put the original soundtrack of Mothra in the Godzilla King of the Monsters
1:26 : rocket sound now : BOOM
rocket sound before : POLOW POLOW
Now that! Is science fiction.
I don't like how the narrator is describing Mothra as a villain. Let me tell you little history facts 'Narrator' Godzilla try to destroy Japan but Mothra was there to stop him. Mothra stopped desghidorah for trying to destroy Earth.. Motherfucking Earth! (Yes I know this was the first Mothra trailer. But it just pisses me off so don't give me any hate)
As a South African we were never really introduced to Godzilla or the kaiju stuff. I only remember them broadcasting Ultraman on TV when I was a child in the 80s. I remember watching a Godzilla rip off on rented VHS in the 80s called Goro, about people capturing what they think is the adult monster (that looks a LOT like Godzilla), only for the adult to come rescue it.
The cocoon looks like a peanut
2:01 Mothra: why are you running away from me?
Because you're terrifying!
I cant believe I remembered it was Mothra which had the 2 smallest women, i was 7 when i saw that movie!
1:08 I loved this song, it would be cool if this became Mothra's theme, if she comes back to life and has a solo film in Monsterverse!
Columbia, Toho
Great camp! And made in the best year ever. 1961..year I was born.
I loved the original movie. I saw it on TV as an afternoon feature. I also enjoyed the Rebirth Trilogy from the 90s, and it was great to see her in the Monsterverse. Be nice if Legendary gives Mothra her own movie.
Long live the Queen of the Monsters!
Hopefully she gets a movie after Godzilla Vs. King Kong
One where she doesn't look like a butterfly from hell I hope.
@@Tamanegi-P She is a Kaiju.. what u want she looks like? Butterfree from Pokemon?
@@c_0910_K Nah. You don't understand. She looks really nice and divine (BECAUSE SHE'S SUPPOSED TO BE) in every other movie. But in KOTM 2019.... Yeah... No.
I saw this when I was 7 and loved it. Then I saw Godzilla Vs the Thing and loved that more.
Muy buena Pelicula del Cine Japones. Ojala la dieran en la TV ABIERTA. La veria muchas veces; ya que una vez la dieron en la TV , desde Chile.
I love the sound of mothra larva
Awesome
The narrator for this trailer sounds like hes the same voice used during the original lost in space television show from the 1960s.
A very great Kaiju film sadly overshadowed by the more iconic Godzilla vs Mothra 1964.
It’s interesting to note that Mothra was WAY more ruthless in this film than later in her career. In this film, she only cared for the Fairies and that’s it. So it’s neat to see an Anti-Hero Mothra.
Mothra just want's to Sleep an injoy sunlight
🍿🎥
Who knew the queen of the monsters was THIS evil?
Well she only wrecked the city because someone took the shobijin
She's not. The people kidnapped her priestesses to show off as circus freaks, so Mothra went to save them
Ed Wood in 1961: Mothra, a moth that was mutated by nuclear radiation that turned a small moth into a giant beast that destroyed Tokyo.
I still remember those two miniature women back from when I was a kid - though I was only a 1 year old when it ORIGINALLY came out. Back then, we'd watch some seriously weird-ass "horror" movies from Japan on Saturdays.
I highly look forward to watching and critiquing this flim
Mother has come to rescue her daughters.
How to defeat Mothra.....turn on a giant light bulb and let it beat out it's brain against it. You're welcome.
Only an evil person would want to defeat Mothra, though
O trailer e da hora
Wonder what the monster is called?
I forgot she had a movie
this moth is one bad dude !
0:18- Okay, but are the two idiots from Invasion of the Star Creatures (1962) gonna mess it up?
0:41- Just let me know if they're protected by robots, like in the for mentioned film.
i dont understand why she went on a rampage while searching for thr fairies
Love.
oh
She also the sacred guardian of the Shobijin (the fairies). It’s her first priority to keep them safe, and then the rest of the world.
She was furious because the business men kidnapped the fairies and that’s why mothra was going on a rampage
what is a 'vampire' plant?
Who's here after Monsterverse Mothra's return?
is mothra good or evil? i really dont get it until now 😕😕
Well, Mothra is portrayed to protect the 2 Cosmo twins, when the 2 are captured, it puts Mothra in a position that people wouldn't like her to go to.
Laboratorio Pedrito Diesel &Baraine medrano Santana
Good
Invariably good, but she'll single-mindedly strive to retrieve the Shobijin twins if they're being held against their will, which usually leads to her destroying everything directly in her path in the process of looking. She spends most of her film appearances defending humanity from Godzilla or other kaiju.
Yohanes Daniagi yeah
I think for the cocoon they used a peanut
Japan! Land of Soy Sauce! And Mothra! (Any Book of Mormon fans here?)
Sony, Columbia Pictures, Toho
Uau
They should release at 1962 not 1961 that's best idea
mothra enveloped in a shell no human force can penetrate mothra indistructible mothra is a monster mothra a is a god mothra is mothra .....
Next part: Dogra
American version of Mosura
This film's mothra. (1961).is.before mothra.vs.Godzilla (1964).version
haha 100th like.
東宝
Mothra=Mothron from Terraria.
An expedition of world famous scientists...hahah, that’s funny..........”world famous scientists”.
Those women are not tiny
They are small in the film, but the trailer doesn't do a good job of showing that.
anyone here because of terraria?
yup
I looked at Mothra of the 1990s trilogy. Aaaah so girly and kiddish. No thanks
I came here to see what the original Mothra filmed looked like of 1961. Yep This is so much better. 👌
I love fun corny giant monster movies that are classic funs. But the Mothra movies of the 1990s was a big no for me.
**Casually dislikes.**
