Mothra is my all time favorite .. will never get over her in this movie.. loved your analysis of her.. since I've been in love w Godzilla my entire life.. it's a new and welcomed perspective.. Thank You!!!
I really hope Legendary does something with Mothra. Her design was my favorite of all of her designs (which is really saying something considering how good every Mothra looks) and she could totally have her own Movie/series
Mothra is the protector of children/ humanity in the Toho movies Godzilla,Mothra ,Baragon King Ghidorah :All out Giant Monsters Attack was the exception!
I'd like to see Mothra go up against an original kaiju or one of Legendary's existing Titans if she gets a standalone film. Giving her the spotlight before bringing out an old enemy that has history with her will likely make their reunion all the more impactful and interesting for fans, newcomers, and the general audience alike. Plus, getting the rights to use Battra alongside Mothra isn't a cheap task. As for Mothra Leo, I'm not the biggest fan of her offspring being male but, if Twin Larvae were to hatch from Mothra's egg, using his design to differentiate the two in their imago forms would be an effective way to include him in, at least, a referential manner.
@@zachary5845 Think she can evolve 🪴🌵🌵🪴 or stronger. Also 📴 off- hand does her offspring grow stronger with each generation or it just depends on the mothra powers.
Ah, a review compilation for the Queen Of The Monsters herself! I really hope a new Mothra film gets made at one point, especially if it includes her brother ;)
It was a pleasure seeing her beauty in the new king of monsters movie, honestly loved seeing all the characters from my childhood in full on good cgi etc.
This is why I love toho each of their Monsters are incredibly unique to each other. Because you can instantly tell what monster it is simply by the silhouette or there unique roars, cry, chitters, ect Sure the movies we're not as good as they could have been could have been but I'm sure they can always try again I mean let's be honest what madman came up with the idea of a giant moth goddess I'm not saying by any means it's a bad idea I'm just saying that whoever made it up must have had one hell of a creative spurt must feel quite good that his/ there fictional character has become a national or even international icon I don't know what it is about Japanese culture but they just seem to make the best monster movies I guess they did sort of invent the modern monster movie so it's only natural that they be the best at it
For years and years me and my friend viewed Mothra 3 as our holy grail of kaiju flicks, since for so long it was never released in our region like the first 2 Rebirths, and was kind of the only thing we had left to watch. It's funny how much we built it up in our minds. We finally saw it well over a decade after release, and it didn't quite live up lol. Ended up being the weakest of the trilogy after all.
The Mothra trilogy is such a shame for its underutilized potential. A chance for Mothra to step out from Godzilla's shadow and shake things up a bit. Although I am a fan of the Heisei series of Godzilla films, many of the genuine critiques fans have of those entries are running at high-gear in the Mothra trilogy. Two of the three monsters Mothra faces are Ghidorah incarnations, almost all of her abilities are basically beam attacks, and the special effects, cinematography, and greater story and characters leave much to be desired. Seeing her portrayal in the trilogy did make me appreciate her original film, Mothra vs. Godzilla, and the MonsterVerse incarnation all the more. Additionally, I don't hate the films at all; it just fails to deliver on its full potential and left me with nearly a whole notebook full of re-writes, thought experiments, and concept explorations. Mayhaps she'll get a second wind if the MonsterVerse marches on or if Toho decides she has the clout for another shot in the spotlight.
So it would seem that apart from the first Mothra, living in Godzilla's shadow, and being a side character had more relevance to monster movie fans, than the solo movies of the character.
I admit I haven't seen the Rebirth movies, but Dagahra feels like one of those kaiju concepts that should be really awesome, but everyone tells me isn't.
Godzilla vs Kong has thoroughly proven that they ignored most of the stuff from the KOTM ending sequence. That will probably mean that there is no egg.
On Madison's computer, when she's reading through Bernie's blog posts, one of them is about Mothra's egg. Meaning it was, in fact, carried on from KOTM. Especially given that Michael Doughtery helped write the screenplay, though I do agree the film could've done a better job connecting with the prior film.
Jee, you're getting a little too harsh for the rebirth of mothra I actually enjoyed the trilogy, I thought Rebirth Of Mothra 3 is the best mothra film and one of the best Kaiju film, that's harsh
That's because the rebirh of motha trilogy is still a flawed trilogy, even as a bunch of kids movies. Yeah godzilla's movies were for kids too once but films like king kong vs godzilla or ghidorah the three headed monster were still more well made as kid movies
Ironically, even though Rebirth of Mothra 2 is the weakest in the trilogy, it's my favorite. Though I gotta ask, why did they change Rainbow Mothra's design in the third movie? Did the old puppet get damaged or something? (Don't get me wrong, I do love his design in the third movie, but I like the first design better. It's prettier and more rainbow-y.)

The first Mothra movie is on the same level as the original Godzilla for me. The imagery in it is downright haunting. There’s something really special about it. I really wish they would have made the Heisei era Mothra movies connect to the Godzilla ones.
I love the rebirth of mothra 3 movies the only thing i have a Problem with is that Belvera should be riding a battra fairy not some dragon i know i thinks it's supposed to look like the ghodora of the movie but it would just make more sence to have her ride a battra fairy
too bad the mothra trilogy got bad at the end as i'd love another mothra movie(maybe a shin mothra.) and see some of the trilogies ideas like a 3rd evil fairy giving the twins trouble(could have her the controller of battra who's more forceful compared to the more gentle fairy twins, having to be taught to cherish her companion.) or a solo movie for monsterverse mothra with how her egg's around(really would love to see her song/her meet kong with how they view godzilla.:3).
