    Being from Portugal originally, I've fished those seas on the long liners for some years. I saw a deck hand once get a swing of the tail of one of those stingrays, the barb buried itself almost 3 inches into the back of his arm. It was hell to remove it, to the point the chap passed out in the galley. The worse that has happened to me in Gran Canaria, was having the toes on my welly boot bitten in half by a big conger eel. Luckily I managed to pull my foot out when I felt its mouth clamping down. Then I understood why I was always told to wear boots two sizes too big. Miss those days dearly, now I live in Peterborough and fish the Wash 🤣🤣🤣🤣
    Look forward to more videos when you come back to the UK John. Tight Lines. ☺👍

    Those angel sharks look amazing thanks for bringing us along and those bream were fantastic well done fellas real interesting!!!!I use 70lb good quality braid and like Tom don't use a leader either !! Smooth cast every time great for continental rods or heavy rods and no clang throughout the eyes ever time you cast so your mate is spot on great video

    • @TheFishLocker
      @TheFishLocker  Год назад +1

      If you learn to tie a good leader knot there is no clanging or trouble with the eyes. Braid does not have good abrasion resistance so a mono leader will be better on rough ground.

    Tried many a time to catch one of those crabs, They are so fast and pretty aggressive. The points of each leg has a shape point to grip any rough surface.
    Another great vid and you found the rain again.

    I'm too old and unfit to attempt most of what you guys do these days but I love watching! I'll be sure to employ some of your techniques on some less treacherous marks in Tenerife at the end of March. Keep doing what you're doing. It is awesome! 👍

    Amazing Angel Sharks! Me and a friend caught a few in Tralee Bay many years ago when they were quite common. I think they’re long gone now unfortunately.

    Less rain in Cornwall or even Hartlepool. Gran Canaria in a few weeks - hope it’s dried up a bit by then. Think the forecast is a better for you, tomorrow. Great vid, as always.

      One thing that became apparent to us from this trip is how much of a handicap the cameras are. I missed/lost a total of 6 good fish on this trip because I was messing with lights/cameras or filming.
