It was on a backing track, though, (hate to take the magic out of it). Most times they run the track for performances like this because it's hard to sing and come down off a harness like that without being out of breath (the harnesses make it tough to breathe sometimes and trying to sing from your gut while it's restricting your airwaves can cause all sorts of performance problems.
She is amazing. Not only her singing but to glide across the audience like that and sing and hang onto the bag and umbrella as if she was walking down the street.
1.44 the absolute face of joy. I also love how everyone is amazed while they look at her while she flies, they all look like surprised kids and that's simply beautiful, how this performance made them feel naively joyous.
I was there 1 or two nights later and because this part of the concert takes place in the dark, you can hardly see the cables she was hanging from. It was amazing to see!
Now, only imagine, what if Dame Julie Andrews would have turned up actually flying?!!...surely there would've been a stampede. The one and only Mary Poppins, an absolute legend.

Do it ASAP! I go there every year and it's a wonderful experience. A total joy and a gift for your eyes, your ears and your mood. I saw a lot of André Rieu concerts in different countries in Europe but Maastricht's summer concerts are something very very special. No matter if you understand Dutch or not: it's a real, fun, great party with lots of people from the whole world! Lovely! Exciting!
Mary Poppins is the best live and animated film ever made in my opinion and it remains a classic today, almost 60 years after it was made. And this is one of the best songs from the film, beautifully sung not only by Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke but by the lady in this video.

Awesome performance! She reminded me of a 1970's television show called The Flying Nun. I thought they did a great job of this having her fly around with her umbrella and as the other comments say I was really the audience reaction that made this special.
