I am an ex-marine, an ex-convict, a new York city high-rise construction worker and a new York city night club bouncer. I am a father of three boys, one daughter and granddaughter...not easily moved. I would say, that was a notion the Spirit of God put in that bird's head...to assure you HE IS in charge over this world, despite the devil's attempts to destroy it and us. 😃 The song would remind us of that.
When my father was in the process of dying in 2017 he was laying on a rented hospital bed in his own darkened bedroom at home and they had a hospice nurse there and he asked the people around him if they saw the Redbirds? They told him no then he was quiet for a while. Then pretty soon he said, “Oh thank you for bringing the light, that helps a lot.” Then he raised his right arm and held out his hand like he was taking someone’s hand and said, “Jesus.” They he breathed his last breathe.
