Excellent way to hold it in place when reinstalling. Maybe fishing line or dental floss to remove and a (smaller than you show) zip tie to reinstall. I'll try that soon when I do some work on my 04Z
A vented bolt , cut a notch across the hex with a grinder like a screwdriver slot and run a pc. Of wire thru the vent hole and bend a L in the wire at the end and use that to fish the bolt thru the pick up tube hole and bolt hole in the oil pump. Turn the wire with vice grips to start the bolt, tighten. Remove the wire
My favorite trick is the braided line but you can pre wind it up so when its close you pull slowly and it screws itself in a little way as the string unwinds from the screw
Hey buddy question for you. What front accessory bracket is that you are running for your alternator and power steering, idler etc. ? I’m putting my 5.3 back together now and have the Holley mid rise intake manifold installed and my alternator is way to close to the throttle body and fuel rail. Thanks man
Sorry it took me so long to get back with you I really don’t remember sorry I’ve had that one for 4 years just look for one that not in the way I payed 160$ for it it came with all the accessories just make sure to look closely for the belt size it will be in the description thanks for asking have a great day.
My innova 2007 is given backcompressure but no oil conjumption and no power loss.. Only some knocking on idle .. On acceleration no knocking...Pls reply...
@@ssman9925 all you need do is replace that oil ring and besides that should be good idont see why it would be an issue getting that bolt out of the pick up tube is a challenge
I like that trick. It's not often I find little tricks I haven't picked up yet, but that is definitely a new one for me. 😂 Good work man.
Thanks bro 👍🏾

I just have one question the new oil pump already comes wit a spring installed on the new pump right is that I didn’t check inside
Thank You for the pickup tube bolt hack. That would make that job easier. 👍

Bro this might be genius
Your oil pump pickup screen looks half plugged, did you leave it like that or drop the oil pan?
You can modify the hold down tab to change clock position. Done it that way since 2010.
Yeah that’s what i did it’s in the front not the back i was just showing if someone wanted to try it.
Are you talking about the hold down tab on the zip tie, if so how so?
When you use the zip tie make sure it’s a small one 👍🏾
On "some" pick up tubes, not all
Yessir Ima need to do this on my Buddy Impala! Thanks for sharing 🔥🔥🔥

Nice.
But what if oil pan is leaking, wouldnt you want to just tackle both
The oil pan not leaking i was just taking the pump off with out dropping the pan.
