What an excellent video! I appreciate the time and effort you put into this. It was so informative and factual and you showed every step completely. I truly appreciate it I really do. I'm not lying when I say this. The shop wanted $1,300 to do the job on my 06 Chevy 6.0 cargo van.. I do not have that kind of money. I am paycheck to paycheck but because of this video I was easily able to do it myself! I was really nervous and apprehensive about the whole thing but after I watch this video it was like you completely motivated me! Your instructions and narration were crystal clear and the video quality is nothing short of professional. I literally went step by step. I would pause the video do exactly what you did and so on and so on. I can't thank you enough there's no way I could have afforded to take this in seriously I would have been walking to work for at least a month. Honestly you did a really good job. Thank you so much

Good video. You should have indexed that pump housing to the crank timing gear .002 is the spec, when the pickup tube is installed first it wants to pushs it off center.
Also you can flip the pickup tube flange 180° and use it from the other side to bolt to the oil pump, 10x easier than trying to thread from the bottom side, you will need to grind the tab down a little to get it to spin 180°

HERE'S A TIP! I like the magnet idea and have applied it. Because I was so scared of dropping the bolt, HERE'S WHAT I DID! GRAB SOME DENTAL FLOSS. Once the bolt is about half way out or more, loop and knot around the bolt but continue using the magnet. USE THIS METHOD TO REINSTALL.

Doing my 04 2500 4 weel drive this way but I'm taking my Dremel tool and grinding down the tab that stops the tube hold down from rotating 180 and using the bolt hole on the upper side lot's easier to access! Just be careful not to get filings in the oil pan rags oiled down to catch them works well it doesn't take much to make to rotate the the bolt bracket 180 degrees works great!!!

This is a great cheat on a 4wd, because you have to drop the diff to drop the oil pan.. I just wish you showed how to get the pickup tube bolt back on. If you drop that bolt in the pan you got a lot more stuff to pull off to get to the pan.

On one of our personal vehicles we actually left the bolt in the pan when we dropped it. 🤣 (I do not recommend doing that) It had no issues. 🤣 You just have to balance the bolt on a wrench and hope you have good luck.

Somewhere in the instructions it should have told you to align the oil pump. Not sure why you didn't replace the timing chain since you went that far but to each his own. I would suggest that people torque the oil pump if they're just a rookie because some people might strip the threads. If you don't have a solvent tank to clean, use a can of brake clean. Prime your oil pump too boys and girls. It does amaze me how long these oil pumps last as cheap made that they are, though.
