Well I mean it's not like our nationwide recidivism rate suggests that even half of convicts "learn" their lesson or anything. Sure we can just clog up our prison system with addicts, but every state that's tried that has failed miserably at actually curbing drug use. The officer was not trying to help her. Legally they have to make sure that the subject understands the rules or it can Become admissible in court and it can be thrown out, The police officer was making sure that he had a tight case against her that she understood the DUI test but that she was failing anyways. In no way shape or form or police ever there to help you during a traffic stop, do you stop, even when there’s an accident they automatically assume that you are the perpetrator and not the victim. Your house has been burglarized and you call the police they automatically think that you were trying to get insurance money trust me you are the bad person in their eyes no matter what. There was only one officer I knew that didn’t think like that and he ended up transferring to the harbor patrol, so did I. I saw good people get arrested for false pretenses. People arrested for DUIs and they weren’t even drunk or high.
