@@MaskedPerfomer Yeah I wish we were just getting a touch more quality in the paint department. Like why? Why is the face not painted all the way, when it's the exact same head as the Siege, and the Siege gave us well painted heads.
Found a ER Hoist at Savers last night for $4 only missing gun. Then this morning I found, I kid you not, a Kingdom Magnus, horribly mutilated, with the left leg snapped off the mushroom peg and nowhere to be found and the chest/head piece of his Suit mode gone.. It's kind of interesting to find these "Best versions of the figures we've ever gotten" line toys at Thrift stores now. A few months ago I found a Kingdom rattrap as well Then as for broken/mutilated figures, I've found at LEAST 1 mutilated Siege Starscream, 1 Mutilated Snapdragon missing part of the tail and the headmaster, 1 warpath missing the part you wouldn't want it to be missing and with damaged parts, an ER Grapple, and a Blackarachnia (which I actually bought) that was missing the spider limbs.
i think if hasbro spent a little bit more budget on this, they wouldve been able to make him look more accurate. like maybe find a way to put the sides of the torso with the front wheels to collapse into the torso and maybe engineer some hinges of the arm flaps to fold around the shoulders to clean up said arms.
I do feel you on that, but that's kind of the whole story with all of Earthrise. If they just spent a little more budget it would have really made the line sing. Instead it was over all mediocre.
Well, here in México, we are just getting the siege line... with shockwave..... and in all stores there are still most of the combiner wars line in all shelves like galvatron, blaster and sentinel prime, so sad
I just got slitherfang recently. I don't have trailbreaker but I have hoist . I have only seen trailbreaker 1 time which was at my local equivalent of gamestop.
Yeah, I got them... And If you liked, Sunstreaker, Trailbreaker, and Runamuck, you need to get Bluestreak, he is Smokescreen but Better, he goes up there with the Wave 3 figures (not including Fasttrack) as the Best Earthrise Figures.
What they should've done was give us Sunstreaker and Bluestreak first, then make Wheeljack and Smokescreen the Crappy Remolds, and I love the Smokescreen figure.
Man I agree with the shoulders being balljoints. The WFC line supposedly has phased out balljoints for the limbs which is the absolute dumbest decision I think they've ever made, right around where they assembled ER Starscream completely with one way pins so we're forced to hunt down a way too expensive exclusive 2 pack of a mold that was already crappy to begin with. I mean you know how freaking easy it is to tighten a balljoint? Because the main complaint for balljoints was that they got loose over time. You get a loose pin joint on a figure and you're pretty much screwed though. I can understand the hips being replaced, as the boxy chunks moving around is more screen accurate and generally better looking, but balljoints in the shoulders 1: never supported too much weight and 2: don't have to worry about looks because, due to being shoulders, a ball socket can be slapped in a box without effecting the look or range of movement. The underkibble of the truck complaint not too much. The only parts I think could have been hidden better are the arms, which... could the really not have them fold under the hood? I would have sacrificed the wrist swivel for a mid forearm joint that bends them in half so they can fit under the front of the vehicle. Otherwise the figure compacts up really well and for the rest of it I don't really think much could have been done. And generally Underkibble is always a thing unless a figure's robot design is specifically made to have what would be underkibble just look like the regular area of the vehicle. If or when I get this figure I'm hacking off as much wing as I can and gluing it to where it tabs into the legs.
Wouldn't that just give him giant leg wing? I don't think the underside kibble is too bad, but it's way more than typical of underside kibble. I think Balljoints have a place when the have a place. Not every figure even needs one, but some figures do, and if they don't get it they are lesser for it.
@@PerspectiveEnd Actually they don't stick out too much farther than the shin, only area it visually impacts is some of it hangs down the ankle. But when choosing between giant unsightly an completely inaccurate shoulder wings vs slightly bulkier legs and a panel hanging out by the foot which looks far better then I will absolutely go with it.
@@PerspectiveEnd Also true for that, though thing is the balljoints in the heads of basically every new figure I've gotten since 2018 wont come off without serious force. I mentioned before how I swapped the heads between my Siege and ER Optimus, well that took a flathead screwdriver and some actual elbow grease to pull off. So they can design some serious sockets.
@Nyx Lotus Again, way easier to fix than hinge joints which also wear out. There are so many options for tightening balljoints that it is crazy to think that loose balljoints are ever even a legitimate complaint about figures.
Hoist. The mold was designed for him, so it suits him more, and his gun doesn't want to twist in his hand. Trailbreaker isn't bad he's just less suited to the mold he was given.
Masterpiece Trailbreaker and Hoist share engineering, yet they were able to omit the shoulder wings. That said though Trailbreaker came before Hoist in the Masterpiece line. And yeah, that is Masterpiece, so admittedly, it might be unfair to compare to Generations. I guess the retool budget was wearing thin on Earthrise Trailbreaker. I suppose I could say that I appreciate the foresight the Masterpiece line.

That seems like a decent choice. I do think the design was cooler, looks not at all like G1 but I think I've made it clear that's not a requirement to me. Though it is annoying how the Comic designed characters stick out like a sore thumb on a shelf.
Yeah it's kind of hard to say that, because he's so much Schlubbier than he's supposed to be. He's got all the necessary details, but they all just a little off.
I KNOW That Optimus is AWESOME Right? LOVE the Siege Optimus. It feels so good in the hands and it's so much fun. You might care for the ER version more than I do, but if you don't feel like you need it don't let me talk you into getting a figure I don't even really like.
@@PerspectiveEnd Nah it's more like, Well both figures do a good job at being G1 accurate and scale well with the other figures in the same line, so do I really need another one? I have all the Primes in the trilogy, even "Galaxy Upgrade". Idk, I just dislike redundancy unless it improves on the original. Like the ER Datsuns are good, and I'd argue for Ironhide/Ratchet too. But Prime and Megatron are not in my eyes. Prime's the same thing as Siege and Megs is just a worse figure. I guess it's why we have options.
Yeah it's impossible. I've seen plenty of Arcee's and Airwaves at this point, because I figure no one's buying those, but everything else is just not around. I've seen One Mirage which I snatched, and nothing else.
Got this guy in the autobots united 5 pack, and have to say of the 5 he's my least favorite to transform. Like once I got it it's not too bad but her feels clunkier than all the others
Trailbreaker > hoist… While yes hoist was my first figure of wfc and i got him because he looked like my g1 trailbreaker i can say trailbreaker is objectively better
Well as you say it is objective you need to qualify that. What makes it objectively better. Because my objective point is that it looks less like the character it's supposed to be as his build was much different in the show.
@@PerspectiveEnd for me it feels way better (and on my hoist when i first got him i broke his side arm pannels because i hated them) … also i dont fully care for g1 acuracy, as long as it looks like the character enought (unlike the bayverse) im fine, trailbreaker feels enought like trailbreaker
I liked the review, and I knew you were correcting it with text during the video... But... HOIST!!!! Not Grapple! Well this is a nice opportunity, when you make the Grapple Review, you can call it HOIST all the review! That would be hilarious!
The first season was Okay as well. That sounds like it was cool though. I hope it was at least a good time for that. Though that might put the show into a worse light. Like even all the hype of the contest, and getting special treatment with an actor next to you, and it only made the show OK. Like I'd think that would influence someone to think the show was amazing. So I wonder if you are just resistant to that kind of influence, or it did work and only convinced you it was acceptable?
It is indeed. I had a total brain fart during the script writing and put him down as Grapple the whole thing, and then when I recorded the audio, I just read it off as what I had written. I even made like 2 correction passes on the script and I still missed the horrible mistake. I've got no excuse, I just let the idea that hoist makes more sense as a cranes name confuse me, even though I knew what it should have been.
Actually Trailbreaker and Hoist look differen just because Trailbreaker's character model (and all those of the season 1 dudes) was heavily simplified, that's why he's slimmer and lacks wheels on his legs and the "wings" on the back of the shoulders. Hoist's character model on the other hand, along side all the season 2 dudes, was drawn only with a photo of his front. Then again, while they could've done something for the wings, the hood of the car couldn't have the same very deformed shape of the cartoon without a fake part (and i think you don't really like fake parts)
@@PerspectiveEnd well kinda yes, i just wanted to give some more context about the season one characters and i also just wanted to clarify why the chest was done like this (and how it's better they did it like this).
@@phantomfilms1903 I'm not the biggest fan of either. Neither one is a bad figure, but they both have their foibles. If you Require a Voyager scale G1 Optimus Prime, then for 50 bucks the ER figure will suffice. As for Wheeljack, I'd say if you want that one get the Netflix Redeco of it. That one has MUCH better colors.
@@PerspectiveEnd I’m not upset that he has them particularly, more that it screws up his arm articulation and makes his shoulders look broken in most poses. I would have rather that they more hung off the shoulders rather then the shoulders being pegged into them.
Not typically. That video was just a result of me getting really annoyed at the lack of any criticism of the line. I just needed to speak what I believe is the truth, and I was too fed up to think clearly and do my best job at it.
I wasn't trying to counter balance everyone else, to be clear. I was just sick of the Relentless undeserved positivity, and needed to hear someone to say that it's got serious problems, so I made that someone me.
That's not going to be the way the format is, I'm not going to trash every line, and then making videos on the figures I like, it was just a one time thing. Though I will always trash the figures I think deserve it. It's not my job to like something it's that things job to make me like it.
Over the figure is just "meh" to me, isn t bad, but the truck mode has too much robot mode junk to see. But I agree its better them Hoist. And now, TIME FOR SOME OBVIES CONPLAINING 😈😁. I known you tryed to fix this with acknowledging your mistake, but still.... Maybe double check you script before you star recordings, just saying.....
I did actually double check it, but my brain was like "Hoist is a Cranes name" every time I looked at it. And I never said this figure is better than Hoist. I think Hoist is better, because this mold was designed for him, so it's not a perfect fit for Trailbreaker.
It's decent, the Underside is Kibble city, but I like it well enough, though it is conjuring nostalgic feelings for me, so it might not be the figures fault I like it.
@@PerspectiveEnd That's cool. Like you said, too much kibble. But on top of that, the front of the truck looks like Earthrise Prime's trailer, whose undercarriage is too high up from the ground and there's too much space in between. But don't worry no mater what I do, I plan on it being interesting.
@@PerspectiveEnd lol I get it man they basically turned him into brawl. But still the original earthrise Megs isn’t much to brag about I just think the gen 2 scheme fits the mold more.
@@Fatalious It might, but I think the head is too goofy to want. That's just a me thing. Also the worse partsforming.
I love how ER Megs is the figure it's OK to hate. No one likes that thing.
It is so stupidly funny when you spin your stand with a figure. 1:15
If I let that thing spin on it's own, I'd have had to leave the camera running for like 10 minutes generated like 6 Gigs of video, worn out the battery, and sped the footage up like 3000%.
Worst 50 bucks I ever spent.
Earthrise: the Transformers equivalent of making a "ehhhh" hand gesture. Not the worst that it's offered but neither the best it could be.
Yeah that's why it's kind of Irritating that there's so much unbridled love for it. Like, is looking like G1 all it takes to be widely considered the best line in the history of the franchise, cause if you grade this on ANY other criteria it's absolutely not.
@@PerspectiveEnd Honestly, I didn't realise it was getting so much praise until I saw your videos on the matter. At most, I thought it was just the likes of ER Optimus and Sky Lynx getting all the buzz, I didn't know the entire line was being sung to high heaven.
Not that the majority of figures are bad by any means, just not so great that they're some of the best figures of all time.
@@spiketheguy7091 Yeah I really felt like Mugatu. Like I was "I know I'm not Crazy! How am I the only one seeing this?"
The figures don't tend to be terrible, they just aren't the divine gifts from on high people are treating them as.
@@PerspectiveEnd Yeah. Even for all the good ER figures are worth, I feel there are other TF lines that are better. Hell, Kingdom's line isn't out proper yet, and I'd still give that a point above Earthrise for offering more variety for consumers/collectors with the BW figures.
It's not just "Hey, here's more G1 everybody. What's that? You want to see another "Unicron Trilogy" character? Sorry, we ain't got that. Here's some -"G1 but evil"- "Shattered Glass" recolours of Prime and Ratchet and a G2 Megatron instead."
@@spiketheguy7091 Yeah there's a lot of things holding this line back, but I think that what with Beast Wars finally getting some love, if Kingdom sells well, then we may start seeing other bits of the franchise get some love... Though hopefully not Beast Machines...

Hey just so u know there is optional parts forming on OPTIMUS PRIME in earthrise you can remove the butt flap
I am aware. You can actually see me pop off the butt flap in the first ER video during the transformation by accident. I think the butt bracket looks equally bad. Thank's though.
@@PerspectiveEnd i can agree also the Alternet Universe one has paint in between the eyes and look at some reviews up the Netflix 1 it is $10 less better paint applications and comes with two Battle Masters
@@MaskedPerfomer Yeah I wish we were just getting a touch more quality in the paint department. Like why? Why is the face not painted all the way, when it's the exact same head as the Siege, and the Siege gave us well painted heads.
Ive found a few Slitherfangs in my Target. Thats the only store for me that even has the minicons.
The walmarts near me sometimes have them but usually not.
A few months ago I found a Kingdom rattrap as well
Then as for broken/mutilated figures, I've found at LEAST 1 mutilated Siege Starscream, 1 Mutilated Snapdragon missing part of the tail and the headmaster, 1 warpath missing the part you wouldn't want it to be missing and with damaged parts, an ER Grapple, and a Blackarachnia (which I actually bought) that was missing the spider limbs.
I mean did you want the Destroyed magnus? And yeah that was a great price for hoist.
@@PerspectiveEnd If he wasn't missing limbs, $5 for even a bad Optimus bodytype for my wall of Optimus would have been good.
i think if hasbro spent a little bit more budget on this, they wouldve been able to make him look more accurate. like maybe find a way to put the sides of the torso with the front wheels to collapse into the torso and maybe engineer some hinges of the arm flaps to fold around the shoulders to clean up said arms.
Funny thing about that is I'd actually be stoked to find a Sentinel Prime on shelves right now.
Damn, thought i was the only one who constantly mixed up their names
I wouldn't say that i normally do that, but yeah the whole video I spent using the wrong name over and over.
Sooo... how hard was it to find sky lynx?
Really, Really, REALLY God Damned hard.
I just got slitherfang recently. I don't have trailbreaker but I have hoist . I have only seen trailbreaker 1 time which was at my local equivalent of gamestop.
Weird place to have seen it.
Bought This figure and Runamuck on Amazon together, And Sunstreaker, and Bluestreak seperatly, and they all are coming on the 9th.
Nice. Those are always fun days, when all the Self Presents arrive.
I'd also say they pop off, which is frustrating for ham fisted children.
4:30 that's a truck cover. That is more like using a chirt as a shield
Which do you think is better: hoist or Tailbreaker????
Hoist. The mold was designed for him, so it suits him more, and his gun doesn't want to twist in his hand. Trailbreaker isn't bad he's just less suited to the mold he was given.
You should do a video where you talk about the g1 animation errors
I have thought about doing that. I don't drink and me and my brother were thinking about making it a Drinking game.
@@PerspectiveEnd id love to watch that
Masterpiece Trailbreaker and Hoist share engineering, yet they were able to omit the shoulder wings.
Unfortunately the hoist has this same problem where the wings are locked to the arms so he cant leave them behind and move his shoulders freely.
Nice. Vid man. Trail breaker looks nice
Thanks. It's a decent figure, taken on it's own it's better, taken as an interpretation of Trailbreaker it's a little worse.

I wasn’t a huge fan of hoist to begin with, so I’m probably gonna go for the thrilling 30 version
I honestly wasn't sure why you complained about ER while praising Siege.
...Until I got Siege Optimus before ER Optimus (cancelled it now).

Trailbreaker > hoist…
While yes hoist was my first figure of wfc and i got him because he looked like my g1 trailbreaker i can say trailbreaker is objectively better
Na, you got that all mixed up, it's going to have to be during my Kingdom inferno review, where I spend the whole thing calling him hoist.
I won a giveaway to see earth early with the actor of Mirage the show was okey
The first season was Okay as well. That sounds like it was cool though. I hope it was at least a good time for that. Though that might put the show into a worse light. Like even all the hype of the contest, and getting special treatment with an actor next to you, and it only made the show OK.
Like I'd think that would influence someone to think the show was amazing. So I wonder if you are just resistant to that kind of influence, or it did work and only convinced you it was acceptable?
Wait I'm confused isn't th hoist?
It is indeed. I had a total brain fart during the script writing and put him down as Grapple the whole thing, and then when I recorded the audio, I just read it off as what I had written.
I even made like 2 correction passes on the script and I still missed the horrible mistake. I've got no excuse, I just let the idea that hoist makes more sense as a cranes name confuse me, even though I knew what it should have been.

I have already done that. It was a funny one.
Isn't that what I basically said?
