To my surprise, this is my ideal rig. I have been working towards this same set up for sometime now. Hoping to have it going in the next few months. Thanks for posting this video & looking forward to more to come.
Hey Dave, my name is Christian and I'm thinking in the next year to start working with that kind of stuff hailing cars and etcetera, I'm sorry to be asking this but how much money can make in one week with one is this set up I really love the trucking life and I would love to now how I can get started. Thank you very much

ONE_BAD_Z. The direction of strapping really is irrelevant, because the straps are all the same the hooks are all the same the floor is the same the truck does not know which direction the ratchet is going and when you use one on every Tire that really doesn't matter. All the ratchet does is takes up Slack in the strap. All the work is done directly in front and directly behind the tire
The only reason I oppose mine front to rear is because I noticed while strapping that the vehicle always seems to roll slightly in the direction the ratchet is in when initially tightening it down.
Dave, love your set-up ….. very well thought out. Like the aux fuel tank, wheel lift, and additions to the trailer. When I was in the towing / car hauling business I had an earlier, 48' version of that trailer. Always wanted to add extensions or long flippers on the trailer so I could get 4 small cars up top, but never got to it before selling the trailer. Ever considered this ? I would like to see more videos with this truck / trailer.
Thanks for this great comment! Making videos with Dave is fun and informative. I'm looking forward to making more with him in the future. Also, Dave replied below. If you have more questions for him, please do. Thanks, again.
Clarksville Trucking I’m considering adding one of these trailers to my pull behind my second truck and wondering do you have a completed video of loading in the belly
Good question! Here's the specs sheet: www.wallymo.com/trailer-4-car-belly.php Please join us this Friday to discuss: ruclips.net/video/-lqqJR5FB-Y/видео.html
My son would like to become an independent car transportation hauler so he is currently working on his CDL license. In the meanwhile, we would like to learn more about the business and how to get started. Once he get his CDL what should be the next step and how to go about finding clients to transport.
One of the least efficient trailers in the industry.particularly when you have other choices that does the same job much easier.releasing that trailer every time when you need to load and unload is a big burden and an additional risk factor.remember you not gonna work only on nice weathers.there will be rain ,cold etc.you gonna load/unload in dark.you gonna have space issues where you load/unload.and there will be times you just gonna feel too tired to unhook the trailer.you gonna have inop cars that needs to be loaded/unloaded with a forklift. I rather get a sun country 4-5 car trailer where I don't need to unhook every single time and have more options to use my trailer space more efficiently.
Not any more often than any other lowboy type trailer or a traditional automobile transporter. Yes, it will require a little extra attention to enter and exit parking lots and cross some intersections but not all that bad to operate low ground clearance trailers.
You disconnect the truck from the trailer, then the top lifts up hydraulically opening the front of the trailer so you can drive the belly car in/out. Very time consuming and impractical design but it does distribute weight well and keeps the overall length short to comply with the 65' length rule in most states.
Wow Luv It, GREAT Video. This is one of the best setups I've seen as I already know I'm not going Kaufman. Thought I'd have to start up with one but I'm gonna end up saving a lil xtra to put down. Is anyone financing theirs with a good finance co and is Central Dispatch STILL the best place to start for car hauling??

Alezhik, please reply to a comment from Dave on my channel and see if you can get a direct response. Also, I recommend joining the live chat on a Tuesday Night as Dave is often in there.
you can register whatever weight you want. You can not exceed axle or tire ratings or 20,000lbs (34,000lbs for a close tandem axle) on any axle, or your registered weight whichever is lower. I was registered 42,000 on my 4500 Ram but could only scale at 39,000 with my trailer if all axles were at the max. But if I would have had tandem duals instead of triple singles on my trailer, I would have been able to meet or exceed the weight limit I was registered for.
AGU BIAFRA varies, I would go to truckpaper.com, click on trailers, then click on car carrier open and then find wally mo. Should get a good idea there
Well hell I tow a trailer everyday and no we’re it says I got to have a strobe light flashing…never seen a tractor trailer going down the road with a strobe light flashing unless over height over length or wide..matter fact a local towing company got sued and lost for having strobe lights flashing causing an accident…the judge said if a vehicle is in tow it’s got to have proper lighting on back of towed vehicle ie tail lights brake lights turn signal’s…not a flashing light on cab..and matter fact it was a roll back the judge said non since and is wrong to have a vehicle on a flat bed truck that has prober lights on truck and have flashing lights…to this day the towing company which operates 11 tow trucks in Tennessee have no strobe lighting on there trucks….so your strobe is not necessary it’s for show….
Great question! Since I am not the authority on car hauling trailers, I recommend that join the live chat with other veteran car haulers on Tuesday Nights Live at 8pm to find out more about how best to compare the two. Also, if you send me an email I know a trailer expert that you can contact for more info. Sound good?
To drive the Ram 5500 by itself, no. But to haul and load this combo, yes. To learn more about the 26,000 lbs CDL weight limit specifics, please email your contact info to autotransportintel at gmail dot com. Thanks.
My understanding is that no CDL is required to drive the truck by itself, but a CDL is required to operate the trailer combination. For more info, click here: www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration/commercial-drivers-license/drivers Thanks.

I use to have a 1979 GMC Brigadier single axle tractor and 4 car drake trailer...worked slick

You disconnect everytime when loading the belly?

Interesting strapping, I do my over the tires opposing each other vs going in the same direction like he did with the dump truck on top. 🤔

P.S. Is your cab set up as a DOT legal sleeper ? How about a video on that ?
Thanks. No I'm not using it as a sleeper

Do you have a video showing how to load in the belly?
I wish I did. That's a great idea. I'll mention it to Dave.
We can get one. It's really easy

Fantastic comments and feedback! Thank you!
How often is ground clearance a concern having a belly loader trailer? Surely it must at least alter some routes

What type of hitch is on your truck and where can I find one? I believe you said it has 30k capacity??
Prime Car shipping 30,000 lb B&M Fifth wheel hitch. Google
I know this is an older video. But what is the width of the trailer?
According to the website, it's 102" wide (8.5 feet): www.wallymo.com/trailer-4-car-belly.php
Great video
Thanks, Mike! I'm glad you like it.
How much was that trailer
Thanks
Never heard of that brand. Interested
Cool. Thanks for the comment. If you get a chance, consider joining the live chat tomorrow night at 8pm CST.

Where can I get a truck that can be registered for 48k lbs ??
Hello. I'm not sure I understand your question. You might try emailing YourDOTGuy: onair at yourdotguy dot com
how did you register it for 48k if it can only haul max of 38,500?
Alezhik, please reply to a comment from Dave on my channel and see if you can get a direct response. Also, I recommend joining the live chat on a Tuesday Night as Dave is often in there.
you can register whatever weight you want. You can not exceed axle or tire ratings or 20,000lbs (34,000lbs for a close tandem axle) on any axle, or your registered weight whichever is lower.

Thank you, Brandon, for adding this comment. Further clarification of registered weight ratings is always appreciated.
The truck takes 20% of the load on the trailer. And unless you register for more than 55000# it dont matter.
How much do the trailers cost
AGU BIAFRA varies, I would go to truckpaper.com, click on trailers, then click on car carrier open and then find wally mo.
Should get a good idea there
Hey Dave who is the guy driving for u now I met him in Nashville but lost his number thank you
Nice equipment!
Why do most car haulers use Dodge Ram instead of Ford, GM, or other ones out there?
@Brian Riker
Thank you so much for your honest reply.
