I love both of these cars waaaaaay too much. I been wanting to get a Z32 Twin Turbo to park up right next to my 91 3000GT VR-4, and my 87 Starion/Conquest TSi

Even lowered on Tein flex coil overs and with recaro seats my car is comfortable for long drives and aggressive driving. Z32 will do better on a track and on mountain roads
I had a 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4, 108k miles, one owner, all stock. Awesome car, and very very fast in a straight line. Funnily enough my friend had a 1992 Nissan 300ZX TT manual, from a dig id pull until well over 140mph, from a roll the Z kept up. I thought the Z handled much better and i liked the interior better than my VR-4. Both are awesome underrated cars. The Mitsubishi is a true GT car that can keep up with some modern sports cars and the Z is more balanced, not as fast but id wager it'd out handle many modern cars
My dad's 300zx tt started up after 7 years with absolutely no hesitation. Not even a puff of smoke or a funny idle. The car drove perfect and everything worked as it once had done. Unfortunately now since lots of them have been parked since 2010 since prices dropped around that time and they became expensive to maintain it would be hard to get a similar result now after they've sat for nearly 15 years!
I've owned a 1990 300zx n/a in 1992 (high-school). I sold it and regretted it. I then purchased a 1992 300zx twin turbo in 2013 with 101k miles for $4,500. It now has 141k miles on it and still runs like a well oiled machine (bone stock).
That honestly not that bad I’ve got a GTO twin turbo but this guy actually needs to spend some time fixing his as they have some massive issues on the starting system
On the 300ZX TT check the Power Transistor Unit. It sits on the front of the timing cover. The fans cannot cool this unit (especially the series 1) and you will have a dead car. The solders inside lift therefore no contact to start them up. So any person with a 300ZX TT be aware. I relocated mine to a cooler area with some simple wire extension mods.
4 years ago, was about to buy a 98 bone stock VR4 when someone offered me the chance of driving a 1990 bone stock 300ZX TT, I was immediately sold, had to bring the Z home (2k more than the VR4 though). More of a sports car as you said, also RWD vs AWD that contributes to that factor, and makes the RWD e bit more easy to work on and simpler.
Z32’s are the most underrated. They are beautiful and reliable once you replace injectors. Stock injectors are a big problem. I have built my car with 600 wheel horsepower. JDM cars in the 90’s were a special time. Buy them love them and most importantly drive them!
There is a sensor that went bad on the z32. It causes it not to want to start on cold start. So by it taking 30 minutes it will fire right up. I love my z32TT. I wouldn't it for the world. Lots of mods you can do. I have 500WHP right now and is super fast. My motor was from Japan and an Auto so my cams are smaller, but if I had an USA engine for the VG would be around 600 easy. IF taken care of the car is super reliable. My Dad drove a 93 for almost 200k miles back and forth to work and never got stranded. Not a big fan of the VR4 but that is person preference. The stock z32 seats are pretty nice.
I had a 96 300zx and what I loved about that car was how low and snug you fit in the front seat, it felt like I was sitting in a Vette, true sports car feel
Nice video! I had a 1998 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 and a 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo at the same time for over ten years. Stock to stock the 3000GT VR-4 was much faster - I ran consistent 13.2-13.3@102-105mph in my Mitsu and 13.8-13.9@100-104mph in my Z. We used to race them from a standing start and no matter who the driver the Mitsu was way ahead north of 140mph. Even from a low speed roll the Z would eat it. I do have to say from what ive seen the Z takes better to mods, I never modded mine. I miss them both.
Well stock to stock the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 / GTO MR (6 speed models) will absolutely destroy a stock Nissan 300ZX TT in a drag race to top speed. Back in 1999 I had a friend with an imported 1996 GTO MR, he ran 12.9-13.2@104-105mph at the strip, Z32s run high 13s all day. That being said, ill take the Z. Handles better looks better and just a tad slower plus RWD.
Of course everything is subjective, but I disagree with the Z interior being better. I think having everything on the cluster makes it look bulky and doesn't flow. Since the cars aren't stock you can't really compare speed wise.
Love and own both cars in their turbo trims. The Z32 feels more nimble but 3S is more fun from a dig. As far as looks, definitely subjective, the Z32 looks classier but if you're in the mood for a more aggressive look then bring out the 3S.

There's not a single comparison from the 90s in which the Stealth/3000GT ever beat the Z, Supra, or RX-7. The Z is classic Japanese sports car. That being said, the 3000GT is under-rated.
Had a red 94 VR4 and loved it. No real issues after a decade other than Active Aero but it was an amazing tourer until I got a big ticket on I65 Alabama. Miss it a bunch.
Meh with the VR4 as its front wheel drive base has been holding it back in value forever. The Z32 is finally starting to see some traction as a collector car. Good clean cars are hard to find now though as every kid and his cousin tried to turn it into a MK4 Supra cheep alternative for the last 20 years. I’m sitting on a good clean 2+0, Manual that I bought cheep years ago. It’s basically a savings account that I drive about 500 miles a year..
@@MiguelDsm the front has headlights that Lamborghini used for their diablo. Z32 has a better front end than the 3000GT VR4 for sure. No other JDM looks more like a Lamborghini other than the Z32. The front end is the ultimate flex. No car looks as beautiful but maybe I'm just biased.
Can't believe I owned and loved and sold both of these beautiful cars. The 300ZX seats were more sporty than the 3000 and hugged you under speed. I miss both of these cars immensely.
sorry but the 3000GT would eat the 300ZX for breakfast before getting to it's proper lunch, the R34. it's the only car that could rival, and some would even argue surpass, godzilla back then.

I have the 95 VR4 and love it. Still have the active aero and the rear steering. IMO it handles better than the 96 and up versions, just based off my own experience with other people's versions. A lot of people remove the rear system because they can leak, but I've never had much issue with it and I enjoy the way it effects the handling. I like the 300 as well though, those things are underrated.
You mean the front end looks like a Lamborghini right ? & not a saturn like you said because you have to keep in mind Lamborghini did use 300ZX/ Z32 headlights directly from Nissan on their Diablo 6.0, with that being said the Z32 is more beautiful but the 3000gt vr4, but the vr4 outperforms it by far, Unless you do a RB26 motor swap from a gtr then the z32 is better. But using the stock motors from the factory the 3000gt vr4 wins people
I have an 89 rhd 300zx now for nearly 5 years. Maintenance is absolutely key on these cars. If its isn't kept up with they can be a nightmare to get back to normal. Both cars are wonderful!
Something about the ZX that just feels more muscley….I always loved them. The design too . Nothing like it. Both of these cars are timeless. Such a great time for Japanese sports cars.
I never rode or drove a 3000gt VR-4 aka GTO in Japan. But I currently own two Z32's, one a twin turbo and the other an NA. The Z came out before the Saturn LOL! So who's copying who? Good vid man. I love these JDM wondercars. They're a bygone now.
The no start on the Z could be attributed to the the PRVR solenoid. If it's a stock TT and no deletes have been done the PRVR can give you issues when trying to start the car when it's hot.
I owned a 96 vr4 and a 300zx TT for about 6 months at the same time. Z drive better and was a little faster, vr4 was badass too. And... Both were pretty unreliable casuing me to sell them lol
You never had either. Anyone who believes him go to the page where a red VR-4 spanks a yellow 300ZX TT, he's all over the page crying 😢 while everyone is saying the VR-4 is faster stock. I'll have to post the link.
I've had my 300ZX TT since 2007 and it's been nothing but trouble. I'm now just putting in my second engine and it's cost me waaaaay more than the car is worth. It's not a show car and just my regular driver. But I owned a Nissan Exa, and a Silvia, and the 300ZX is still my love. Besides the constant engine problems, the only thing I really don't like about to 300ZX is the foot / pedal space. The pedals are too close together and definitely designed for small feet. I find that I can't drive the car while wearing boots (like work boots), or my boot sometimes clips the brake pedal when using the accelerator. Most times I have to take my boots off before I get in the car so I can drive it. But when she is running, she drives great, and sounds awesome. I would like to see Nissan bring out a new modern version (and No not like the other ZX cars. I don't like the look of them at all). Just the same car, with more modern interior, including touch screen iPhone connected radio system with controls on the steering wheel, air bags all round ..... etc.
I can tell you as a z32 owner they're reliable if u can find what's wrong with the car and if u don't know what you're doing because you know the electrical parts are sensitive be ready to pay a hefty price tag at a Nissan dealership this car does require a specialist if not you're really gunna hate this car lol if you fell in love with it since elementary from playing gran Turismo 1 and 2 on ps2 like me you won't regret a single penny spent car still puts smiles on my face jus looking at it lol
Great video. ZX Probably a fuel blockage from sitting for a while. New filter/flush should sort that. I had a 91 Zx twin turbo 2 seater in black. Such a great car. Your video reminded me of what I loved. That surge of power from about 3500rpm just pushes you back in the seat. You sit so low and the car handles like it’s on rails. A bit jiggly on the bumps, but man it’s just so nice. Love the look even today. Engine bay is CRAMMED. You don’t want to drop anything in there - it will not fall through to the ground, but I never did any work on mine.
I always was curious about the z32 it's a beautiful car and you don't see them around very much so to get a chance to drive both is a awesome opportunity
Isn’t the engine in the 3000gt just as crammed under the hood as the 300zx? I would think it’s worse since part of the engine is damn near in the firewall. I personally think the lines of the 300zx are better on the 2+0 model than the 3000. I hope I can grab a clean twin turbo one day before they are either too expensive or trashed..
04:20 yea definitely battery drain issues, theres allot of little things you need to make sure are off when you leave the car. took me a few jump starts to learn
Although I have owned a 300zx TT. I think the 3000gt VR4 looks better and performs better @ stock. Wish ibwould have saved a few more pennies in the day to get the VR4 back in the day.
I was gonna get a 300z for 500 bucks lol but next time I guess . But currently I’m working on my stealth the body lines I just like much better than the Z.
My guy said the 300zx is hard to work on when the VR4 is far worse 🤷♂️🤣 but you aint wrong both are difficult to work on but the VR4 definitely takes the cake on this one 🤣, I'm a z32 owner myself and I enjoy your channel 👍 keep up the good work bud
I've owned both, both are awesome cars. The Z is not as fast as the VR4, but is alittle more fun to just drive. The Z32 would do a high 13sec qtr mile and the VR4 would launch better due to its awd running low 13sec qrt. Mile. The vr4 would easily kill the z from a dig, but on the roll the z would fair better. This was both cars stock with just a upgraded intake filter

😂😂😂
You never had either. Anyone who believes him go to the page where a red VR-4 spanks a yellow 300ZX TT, he's all over the page crying 😢 while everyone is saying the VR-4 is faster stock.
I'll have to post the link.
To solve the body roll I got an active suspension for the 3000gt
Set up - Tein flex Z paired with the edfc active pro
The drone shots are sick 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks! 🤘🏼
Just the same car, with more modern interior, including touch screen iPhone connected radio system with controls on the steering wheel, air bags all round ..... etc.
Love my 300zx tt
Own both TT Z and VR4. Prefer the Z but I own both for a reason.
Créeme que en lo personal se me hace mas raro ver un vr4 a un zx TT, pero igual los dos son una chulada de JDM
Estoy de acuerdo. Casi no se ven. Igual me gustan los dos
It's so hard to pick, since they were like a sports car that was ahead of their time!
This is a great video, turned out good man! Id take the Mitsu too. Also thanks for the little screen time! ❤️
Thanks for coming out man! Nice little add on haha
Saludos miguel keep the good work
Always. Thanks Carlos ✌🏼
@@MiguelDsm your welcome bro
I'd choose the 3000GT just because of how much better I think it looks.
300zx love.
That view at 8:27 omg that's as socal as it gets absolutely beautiful
SoCal is where it’s at 🙌🏻
@@MiguelDsm yes sir
I always was curious about the z32 it's a beautiful car and you don't see them around very much so to get a chance to drive both is a awesome opportunity
Wanted to get it on video. The Z is getting sold soon
@@MiguelDsm oh noooo that car is gorgeous I know it's not yours but it's sad that you won't be able to do more on film with it
Definitely i will take this buty VR4 the timeless looking and modern options and the Z is always a legend of course. Great video as well 👍
3000gt and 300zx are way different when it comes to performance. 300zx is a lot slower around the track. It is more fun to drive people say.
I can see that
Isn’t the engine in the 3000gt just as crammed under the hood as the 300zx? I would think it’s worse since part of the engine is damn near in the firewall. I personally think the lines of the 300zx are better on the 2+0 model than the 3000. I hope I can grab a clean twin turbo one day before they are either too expensive or trashed..
04:20 yea definitely battery drain issues, theres allot of little things you need to make sure are off when you leave the car. took me a few jump starts to learn
I just found your channel, I'm an ex 3000GT owner and probably soon to own an Evo :)
Vr4 is most underrated 90 jdm imo. I'd love to have one
Keep up the great content I love both cars
Bit unfair, can only be one winner gto tt everyday 💪🏻
3000 all day any day🔥🔥🔥
Yessir 🤘🏼
My best advice sell the 300zx to me!
Seen that Evo at the All Mitsubish cook out that was in Ramsey MN about a month ago
Is the Z yours ?
I'm nissan at heart but the 3000gt vr4 for the win for sure!! All wheel drive is life!
i cant wait to have my 300z running i hope it looks good like this when im done with it :D
I choose the 3000 GTVR4 , ALthough I love the 300ZXTT also , I ' have had both of them back in my College day in Arlington VA.
That issue with it not starting after its hot could be the PTU going bad
Z all day!
VR4 all day! I like driving my cars and as I'm walking away, my eyes like to be pleased also
LMAO! Shots fired
Love me some VR4 Miguel but I'm biased cuz I own a 91 Z32 TT T-Top Manual 😎
I know how it is man haha. Thanks for watching 🤘🏼
I miss my eagle talon 😢 love seeing your DSM though
Dsm guys always seem to miss their cars once they sell them
Although I have owned a 300zx TT. I think the 3000gt VR4 looks better and performs better @ stock. Wish ibwould have saved a few more pennies in the day to get the VR4 back in the day.
I love my 93vr4, Pearl white with a black interior.
Sounds awesome
Straight piped vr4s sound heavenly
Miss my 97 vr4. Black twin 20g turbos 3.1..
Love your video you should get a 2nd gen mr2 SW20
3000gt(GTO) style more gorgeous 😍🤩
Agreed!
I was gonna get a 300z for 500 bucks lol but next time I guess . But currently I’m working on my stealth the body lines I just like much better than the Z.
A lot has changed since I lasted watch
You can say that 😅
My guy said the 300zx is hard to work on when the VR4 is far worse 🤷♂️🤣 but you aint wrong both are difficult to work on but the VR4 definitely takes the cake on this one 🤣, I'm a z32 owner myself and I enjoy your channel 👍 keep up the good work bud
This all day. Thank you.
The 300zx is so ugly to me. 3000gt looks a hell of a lot better. Which one feels faster to you?
Yea the VR4 has the looks. The Z felt faster though
You guys must be blind
@@MiguelDsm If they were stock the Z would have felt slower
hey Miguel! I am an avid lover of your content even though I am Honda guy I have always loved the Mitsubishi/DSM cars. While I love your lineup with the 2G Eclipse, EVO and 3000GT VR4 I have to ask are you or would you ever plan on getting a 6th gen Galant VR4 or a 7th or 8th gen Galant/Legnum VR4/TYPE S? Obviously you can only import the 6th gen Galant VR4 but I was just curious since you are a hardcore Mitsubishi man which is rare. Anyhow if you have the time I would like to know your thoughts on those chassis. Either way keep up the awesome content man!!
