  • Vata is one of the three doshas in Ayurveda--energetic forces of nature that compose the universe and everything in it. This particular dosha corresponds with the elements of air and ether (space). Thanks to the airy and mobile qualities of vata, it plays an integral part in healthy bodily functions such as digestion, the flow of breath, and communication between the mind and the nervous system. Vata types tend to have creative personalities and are often inquisitive in nature.
Excess vata can cause the body, mind, and emotions to feel scattered like the wind. This type of imbalance can happen to anyone, regardless of their Ayurvedic constitution or body type. In this video, we’ll explore the meaning of vata, what keeps vata in balance, and how to identify the vata dosha in your environment, yourself, and others.

Great video, informative and presented in fun, upbeat way. Suggestion to the copy team: on ingredients label of herbs et, al. put the product name @top of the list. I have habit of taking screenshots of combos such as Healthy Vata. If I take several, I then must go back and figure out what list belongs to what product. Also curious where Scott is in the team photo.
Banyan Botanicals is THE #1 place for people to buy authentic Ayurvedic herbs and oils. Thanks for all you do. Pranams.

Sobme Ayurvedic practitioners make a distinction between mind and body because I feel like I’m very vata in my mind but definitely not in my body in terms of being naturally lean / dry hair and skin - I’m not I’m not naturally lean & my hair and skin aren’t that dry - I can have scattered thoughts and I can talk very fast / give lots of good ideas lol
My cousin even told me she’s like your ideas are actually good because I guess we know someone else who gives ideas but they’re actually not practical/ good / relevant / don’t take into account all the details of the situation
I say all this to say - should I buy the vata calming Ayurvedic abhayanga oil? Or should I get the KAPHA one ?

I have an extremely Vata dominant body since birth. How do I know if I have excess vata when pitta and kapha are naturally low in my body?

I am curious, how do you experience Vata imbalances as a dominant Vata? As a Tridoshic type myself,my experience has been complex but i thought someone who is is mainly Vata might naturally enjoy activities or things with less issues.
