Excellent video. I went back and forth with other microphones (Samson Q9U is one of them) alot. Rode PodMic USB wasn't my first choice. But, watching review videos of the microphone and demonstration sold me to go get it next year.
for me i had that mic arm it just got in the way off my recording over time the tightness wont stay for long anymore i got a thronmax twist s6 low profile arm . way better then that old rode psa1 mic arm i seen people use a shure sm7b or the usb one . and that rode mic and a pod mic too
@@JosephKim yea the one without the sleeves . i have the og one first launch ones . it hated it i glad i got the low profile arm all is your arm is my old arm there both the same my friend did a tear down on this arm he sold his old one keep the new rode psa1 but i sold my old rode psa1 arm .
awesome review thank you bro. can you do a review for the mv7+ and compare it to this? there are barely any reviews on it as it just came out a week ago. your usage and room is similar to what i plan on doing so your input is valuable. keep the videos coming
Please reply Is it possible to control the rode podmic usb on my galaxy s24 using rode central mobile app Can you make a video about it because no one ever made a video about this one
Hello Mr kim. When i watch your video posted, I decid to buy this products with GOXLR, but when I tried to install it, I discovered that it does not work on cable XLR, I noticed that there is a serious problem cause it's work only with cable USB. And in your video you test only with usb cable.
Good video any tips if I want to start a yt channel and will use the mic both over my iPhone video rig and on the PSA1 + arm too when doing audio recordings?
Hi Joseph! Thank you for the video. I have a question though... I am using the PodMicUSB with a Mac and it seems like my volumn is very low even when I am on g +63. Am I missing something? I am connected via usb C.
@@JosephKim thanks for your reply. But that dial on the back is for the headphone volume i think. I tried putting the the mic to max gain in system setting and tried recording and it still stayed around -20db ish.
I bought my first yesteday and had that exact issue. Pc would detect the mic and I could firmware update it and factory reset it and so on, but all I got was that low noise hiss.... no sound recording at all. Wrote to Rode after having tried to find errors etc. Tried 4 cables, bought a really expensive cable (10gbps) that is better than the one included with the mic, different devices etc. Nothing worked. So went to the retailer today, explained the case and told them Rode themselves had replied they think it sounds like the mic is faulty and I should have a replacement. They gave me a new one on the spot. Just came home... plugged in. I did not install ANY Rode software, nor upgraded the firmware and it bloody works out of the box.
I'm still trialing. I have not ruled it out but the bumps and the shear size of it is not ideal. I am going to attempt again with Steamer X to see if I see any workflow improvements.
Thank you for the valuable setup information. Well explained.
Thank you!
Joseph thanks for the unboxing. I bought the same setup and wanted to get others opinions. This was very helpful.
My pleasure!

Fabulous comparison. Thank you!🙏

not sure if I want this one or the mv7 , what do you think?
I can't say as I've not tried MV7 myself. I do want to try though!

Unfortunately, I don't have access to MV7+. Since it is a lot more expensive, I'm inclined to use Podmic USB.

Yes, it is possible. I just tried on my S22 via USB-C cable.

In which video?
@NajiOnTop sorry, not in a video.

I'm sorry. I have not tried GOXLR. But Podmic should work over XLR too. I have another video on StreamerX where I showcase that.
Good video any tips if I want to start a yt channel and will use the mic both over my iPhone video rig and on the PSA1 + arm too when doing audio recordings?
I think it should work with iPhones. But I haven't personally tested it.

Did you try turning the volume dial on the back?

@@xO_oxDK I'm glad it was sorted!
Looks like in your latest videos you are still using the videomic. Did you decide not to keep the podmic?

Hey! 😊 Any opinion on XDM-100?
I think XDM-100 would be the next one to hit. Have not tried it.
@@JosephKim is it better than Podmic usb?
Love to hear a review on the ride x streamer
Working on it!

No problem!
does not work with Mac OS sonoma
Sorry. I have not tested on Mac.
