IIRC his tipper is after the end of the sword and that's due to the fact that even though the tipper hitbox is somewhat big, the sour spot covers it up a bit too much. Don't take my word on it though.
It's a good video but I gotta nitpick a tad, how in the world are Joker and Zero Suit's Dash attacks similar at all? Are you instead thinking of her Fsmash?

(Just if you want to check it out a bit yourself before that video) You can see hurtboxes in-game if you go to Training mode and turn on the invincibility visuals. Give Mewtwo a Starman and you'll be able to see his hurtboxes for a little while. Wish they added the ability to see them without invincibility and added hitbox visuals also but...eh. The "tailbox" is like half his tail length I guess. Don't take my word for it though cause I only glanced at it once and it probably changes in a few cases
For the last time, is not the tail the only problem of Mewtwo, and is not even the worst one. It also lost that broken air dodge, the D-tilt combos, grabs are no longer good OoS, N-air was heavily gutted and the removal of cross ups nerfed a lot his up smash OoS.
I'd love to see just how thin Simon/Richter's whip hitboxes really are; and to see if their Dair has a multitude of wacky hitboxes that make no sense like I suspect it does. I also wanna know what the hell is up with their up tilt. it seems like it has a very high front facing hitbox that SOMETIMES hits tall characters. Also also, i'm very curious to see how their tether mechanic works, if it starts out with a hitbox or is an entirely different move altogether based on their proximity to the ledge.
I love learning all these mechanics and such, seeing the game stripped down to the barest of numbers and shapes is a really cool feeling. Keep up the good work!
Very informative video. It would probably help a lot to see arsene himself when showing his hotboxes, since they seem much more oddly placed when you can't see him.

I really felt it with the Dedede and Hero hitbox videos where it didn't seem too bad but perhaps with a character standing nearby with a chart showing distance like in the training mode stage, we could truly grasp how horrible or mediocre a hit box is. Maybe I'm just nitpicking but I think the fact that I have to nitpick just shows how quality this content already feels too me.
3:22 i know it's been a year but i just wanted to say that im 99% sure that the arsene hitboxes on the jab that overwrite jokers and are identical to his jab is only there to apply the "darkness" effect when hit
Speaking of lower ID taking priority. One feedback to the hitbox visualisation is to not overlap them. Make hitbox ID 0 be shown fully (still transparent so you can see the character below), and hitbox ID 1 will only be shown where hitbox ID 0 is not located. This can be accomplished through many methods: - Don't use transparency individually, and put lower IDs above higher IDs, and merge them into one image/layer/group; and then put transparency on the image/layer/group instead. One image/layer/group per part value. - Use transparency individually, but make a selection of ID 0 and delete that portion from ID 1 and above, do the same for ID 1 and delete from ID 2 and above. IDs of different part values handled separately. - Use inverted masks. Make ID 0 an inverted mask for ID 1 and above, so those IDs only show up where ID 0 is not located. Do the same with ID 1 for ID 2 and above. IDs of different part values handled separately.
I would love to see the hitboxes of rob! I really hope they made neutral b in a way that the hitbox could be visualized since I have people go through the full charge version super often.
