I hope you guys like my drawings 😂😂 (I drew all the stuff except for the apple XD) - Things you might get confused: 05:12 漂亮 “piào liang” is the correct Pinyin for this word, but in daily life Taiwanese people usually pronounce it as “piào liàng”. Correction: 05:20 / 05:22 漂亮 “piào liang”
Christophe SAURY I’d recommend that you can watch Peppa Pig in Chinese. If you don’t know how to find it, I talked about it in this video: ruclips.net/video/DMGO9CZE2vs/видео.html You can take a look at it! :)
Hi! I love your videos, I'm a Filipino-Chinese, and we seldom have a chance to practice mandarin, since most of the time we use 福建話, and even more after I graduated since at work what we use is either 英文 或是菲律賓話, 我非常感謝妳作了這些視頻,我可以繼續學中文. 謝謝!!
Guo 老师好 . 您的画画真棒! I'm very impressed by your drawings. I used to draw a lot when I was younger. You did a fantastic job on explaining the usage of 才 . I suggest watching the video a few times to absorb all the material. Recently I have come to realize that Taiwaneses often end their sentences with certain particles like o, la, ma. I think it's a culture thing to make sentences sound relax and casual. I noticed it in this video as well. Perhaps you may want to consider making a video on them. As always thank you so much for your time and energy in making such educational videos. 为了我们您辛苦了!
Chen Jun Guang 謝謝俊光(谢谢俊光)!Thank you for your kind words! I know you also like drawing haha :P Yes we like to add many modal particles at the end of sentences. You are very good at observing the differences!
This was an excellent video and explanation. I am HSK6 level and I still was avoiding using 才 or was sometimes confused by it. Now everything makes sense. Thank you.
Love the drawings! I'm a huge fan of your "demystifying X" series (potential title?), as I'm often asking myself: am I using this character correctly? Your videos with their simple examples really help me then. Thanks for all your hard work :)
Thank you for your great explanations. I can now see that the usage of 才 is basically identical to the usage of “just” in English. He just finished reading the book after one whole year. (Took him longer than expected) He just arrived. (Later than expected) She has just been studying Chinese for six months but she can already speak fluently. (Less time than expected) I think she’s just not pretty! I’m prettier. (To disagree with some while emphasizing on your opinion) He had just stepped out when it began to rain. (As soon as)
谢谢Grace老师 Just last night I was reading a graded reader with a bunch of 才。 So many uses, I was planning to search for a lesson today, but yours popped up in my sub box 😁
Hey Grace! Thank you for the super video again❤🙏 Concerning this example: 因为他,我才去的. I wanted to ask if we could say: 因为他,所以我才去的。A chinese friend told me that we can say "我学习因为我有考试". But if we start with 因为 we should add 所以: 因为我有考试,所以我学习。
Khalid Ousri You can say “因为他,我才去的” or “因为他,所以我才去的”. Both are okay because the first sentence has “才” as a linking word, it is find. But in the sentence you mentioned: “因为我有考试,所以我学习”, in the second clause “我学习” there isn’t any linking word, so usually we would add “所以”. :)
You really did all the drawings? Wah thank you so much you did a great job, it really helps us remember. Also I watched the 就 videos series and omg your explanations are so clear! Thank you!
Thank you so much. When I learn chinese I realize that the word 和, sometimes is spoken as hé and sometime as hàn. And, I also see that the Chinese is usually use this partical “er” in the sentence. Please help me to understand them. Thank you so much
This is a very good video, but I have a question. Is this the version of mandarin that is spoken in China or Tawain. I know they have different letters, but I (and probably a lot of other beginners ) don't know how similar or different the spoken language is?
In your previous video titled "Learn How to Use "就 jiù"" you had this structure: Reason (,) (S) + 就 (then) + Next action / The result and in this one you have this one: Reason (,) (S) + 才 (then) + Next action / The result which is the same, but youv'e switched 就 with 才, is there any difference in these two? Can I take 你喜欢就好 and replace 就 with 才?Is is correct when I say 你喜欢才好 ? The latter feels weird to me. Could you eloborate more on this?
Very informative, thanks a lot! I have a question and hope that you can help me. In German there is a word "doch" which expresses that something unexpectet/contrary happens/happened. I can't think of an english translation for it. Let me give you an example: Ich dachte, dass es heute nicht regnet aber es regnet doch. I thought that it wouldn't be raining today but it does. Do I also use 才 here? 我觉得今天不下雨但是现在才下雨。 Is this correct?
You've probably already figured this out by now, but you can use 倒 (dào) followed by a positive comment, or 卻 (què) for a negative one - see Chinese Grammar Wiki for examples. (Not a native speaker)
A video idea: a mega-video comparing 才, 刚刚, 刚才 and 刚. For me the most complex are cases where in theory several of them could be used, but the meaning would be slightly different Thanks for your videos!
Hi I have talked about the difference between 刚刚, 刚才 and 刚 in this video: ruclips.net/video/rEMBpBJno0Y/видео.html (At around 6:30) Feel free to check it out!
I've been wondering about this sentence: "白痴才会把这个事当真。" From your explanation, I would understand this as the second usage, so "(是)白痴" is the only reason for "会把这个事当真". So in English, "only an idiot would take this (matter) serious."
best idea 嗨 馬裡奧!The sentence is correct. But if you say it, I would think someone assumed that you studied Chinese in these two days and you want to clarify that you didn’t. (Also because this sentence implies that they are wrong, it sounds a bit angry :P )
My Chinese is so bad. Upon initially looking at the video, I thought it was going to be about vegetables "菜" (cài). Those darned tones! 😅 😂 🤣 Would an "unexpected vegetable" be a 才菜 (cái cài)? 😁
😭 To me the first and second meanings are contradictory... One is later than expected, one is earlier than expected? For example 她才16岁 means she's only 16, right? Earlier, not later? How do you know which one it means?
I love your English! How did you study?? In case you're interested, there are (only) a few words that you could improve the pronunciation: "everyone", "five", "another", "further ado". The way you pronounce them is very cute, so there's no need to change if you don't want to =P
Wei Grace, Ni hao ! Good going.. I would like to thank you for your efforts, However in this video I found u skipped few helpful steps like showing meanings of individual terms/phrases (like u did in Jiù videos;those are a big help). 你才來!? You come [1.1: late! + 1.2: “*only* now!?” + 1.3: *pure emphasis* + 1.3: *emphasis with negation* (她不來)你才來 + 2: it just happened + 3: (she did not come) *only then, then* you came] ... All of the meanings at the same time! @_@
I hope you guys like my drawings 😂😂

Nice lesson again and the clear explanation and examples of its usage 😊 Just need to see more examples and sentences so that I can get it soon 😌

Thanks Grace for your explanation. I have a question. The 3rd use of "才" that's for emphasize your opinion is The same as “並” ?
I'm always confused by 只. Some circumstances I need to use it, I will accidentally use 就
Me too!!

要满十八岁才能喝酒。I have learned that neng means be able and ke yi means be allowed. Is it better or okay to use ke yi instead of neng in this sentence?
They are completely interchangeable in this context.
