I'm really excited to share this video because originally I was extremely afraid of taking Ozempic. I'd heard a lot about side effects and didn't think it'd be for me. I've had some really great weight loss with ozempic, and the side effects haven't been too awful.
After 2 months I've had steady weight loss (which has always been hard for me with PCOS, insulin resistance and Type 1.5 diabetes (or LADA) while still taking insulin.
Additionally, my blood sugars have been ridiculously good. Fastings under 100 mg/dL and mealtimes coasting in the 150's.
I talk about some of the side effects (and initially not having them and then suddenly having them badly).
The before and after in the thumbnail is a video I shot in May (at a similar starting weight) on the left, and the "during" photo on the right is of me on the day of uploading this video. I'm wearing the same shirt and glasses for reference.
I'm curious if you've seen similar results with using Ozempic. Do you still keep losing weight beyond the first 2 months?

When I tell you I’m in tears hearing your story and reading these comments. I have PCOS and have struggled with weight loss for years. I hit my rock bottom at 319lbs, I’m 5’1”, and a blood pressure at 186/90. Working in healthcare showed me what happens when a person strokes, has a heart attack, or living long term with diabetes. I’ve been on Ozempic for three weeks and lost 7lbs, but most importantly it’s helping me be mindful of portion sizes of the RIGHT foods. I’m crying because I finally see some light after being in the darkness for so long. Best of luck to you and everyone on their weight loss journey.

I didn't care to eat which effected my blood sugar levels So i worry that this would happen here. Didn't lose a pound ! Later a dietician told me that women with PCOS and Insulin resistance shouldn't fast more than 15 hours 🤷🏼‍♀️

I loved coming across this video as a pharmacist who is passionate about helping people manage their diabetes! Most likely reason the 0.25 dose didn’t do anything is because it is actually a non therapeutic dose meaning not effective for glycemic control and only there so patients’ bodies can get used to it and mitigate side effects when increasing to the therapeutic dose. Just know that when you eventually get to the therapeutic dose, the GI side effects of nausea etc. Are self limiting! Meaning that they DO go away as you keep taking it and won’t be forever. Also- semaglutide is the generic name for Ozempic, and there is actually an oral version now of semaglutide called Rybelsus which is HUGE because it is the first oral GLP-1 agonist! For those who cannot afford ozempic, try calling your insurance company to see which GLP-1 agonist they may prefer. My favorite is Trulicity because it is a once weekly injection that you don’t have to attach pen needles to, and is SO easy to inject with. If you ever have any questions please ask!! :)

The way my Dr. explained it to me is raising the dosage doesn't mean more weight loss. He said ask yourself these three questions: "Am I losing weight? Does it curb my appetite? Does it curb my cravings?" He said if all of those answers are yes, then you're at your "sweet spot" and stay at that dosage until you can't say yes to those questions anymore. He said you may be on the first dosage for 6 months, as long as it's doing those three things, it's fine! He stated the only thing raising the dosage will do is increase the symptoms, not increase your weight loss. So find your sweet spot, and don't raise the dose or you will get sick.

6 weeks ago I started my journey on Ozempic, I was in a very dangerous weight slightly over 425 lb, I never felt so uncomfortable, so I turned to my doctor and she recommended Ozempic, I'm borderline type 2 diabetic, when I first started taking Ozempic, I was a little nauseated but, not too bad, I'm never hungry anymore, in the morning I eat something light and one more meal late afternoon or early evening, that's it, I do eat healthy, my blood sugar is controlled and the weight is falling off me. It's been 6 weeks and I'm at 396, 30 lb without even trying, and one another thing I've noticed my alcohol contents is basically zero, that by itself is saving me lots of calories. So for you drinkers out there Ozempic not only controls your blood sugar, but also controls your hunger and drinking disorder.

I was pre-diabetic and my doctor suggested doing a 6-week trial of Ozempic. Starting at the 0.25 dosage, I immediately felt super full all the time. By the 3rd week, I had lost 10 pounds (Yes, TEN!), but I didn't like the way it was making me feel. Like I was on the verge of throwing up all the time. Week 5 & 6, I increased the dosage to 0.50 and that's when the super nausea began. I knew I couldn't continue. All total, it helped with my numbers, and I did lose 14 lbs all total, but feeling nauseous all the time is not something I can handle. *Much love and blessings to you for sharing your wisdom with us!!!* 🤗🥰🤗

I took last wednesday my first jab and today it's monday I'm 82.8 kg so I have hope for the future. I have to pay for it myself as a type 1 diabetic and not type 2 but seriously 102 euro's a month is nothing compared to loosing weight for me. OMG I have struggled with PCOS for the past 30 years of my life, since my late twenties! I went off the pill to get pregnant and all hell broke loose. When you said that you have to do something incredibly drastic to lose weight, yes, that is me. For me to lose weight I had to have the most strict diet possible and at least 2 hours of exercise per day. I would lose with much sacrifice, simply to gain again once I entered the 'maintaining' stage, because the losing stage is not sustainable. There is no maintaining stage with PCOS, only extreme stage. My doctor has suggested this, and asked me to research it. I am so glad to have found your site! Thank you so much.

I have PCOS as well & I LITERALLY felttttt you heavily when you said you have to do the UTMOST just to lose weight pre-Ozempic...I was soldddd!
Anyways, can’t wait to see more updates!!! Keep up the great work & ahhhh congrats on being in the 100 Club! Whoopppp 🥳

Thank you so much for watching and for your sweet comments!
I'm so glad the video helped you make a decision with what you wanted to do. Also make sure to check the manufacturer for coupons. It may be able to lower your medication cost. Novo Nordisk makes it (OzempicSavings.com). There are usually some eligibility requirements, and a cap on the number of times you can use the savings card, but It can help in the short term.
Good luck with it, and please let me know how it works out for you!!

I'm on Ozempic and my dose was just increased to 1mg and every single time my dose is increased, I go through the side effects. But the side effects usually only last 1 to 2 weeks. Don't get me wrong, I am miserable during that time but the benefits outweigh the bad, so I deal with it. Just wanted you to know that there is an end to those crappy side effects. So right now I'm feeling horrible and exhausted but I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for the video, it is very helpful!

Thank you so much for this video! I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 8 months ago but I was in denial. I was prediabetic for a few years prior and I would change my diet and exercise but I was never consistent so I would regain any weight I lost. Recently my Dr suggested Ozempic. I was thrilled when I found out my insurance covered it because as you stated it’s very pricey. I just took my first dose earlier today. Ozempic is so popular and there are so many opinions out there so of course when I came on here to find a video how to take it several other videos came up. I’m grateful for all of you that have commented and shared your stories. I’m hopefully that I’ll not only lose weight, but keep it off. My Dr has me on a diet that I plan to maintain as a lifestyle change and I started taking walks. This is the start of my journey and I know if I want to see results I need to do my part.

So I am actually going to look into it and see how it works and go from there. I also have PCOS and I did lose weight, a lot of weight on the phentermine and bupropion. Thanks for this! I so related to how felt your body was just resistant to weight loss despite high willpower, regular exercise, etc. For years I've been "eating less and moving more," yet only the most extreme of measures ever made me lose significant weight (and even then, it was much slower than average). I just had my first dose of Ozempic 4 days ago and I'm excited to have results that actually reflect my effort!

I'm getting placed on ozempic this week and I'm so excited. I've been struggling for years with my weight. I have PCOS and type 2 diabetes. Your story is so similar to mine. I hope I have the same results as you do. I've been killing myself in the gym and eating strict keto for over a year and I've only seen a 8-10lbs loss with just doing it on my own. My 16hr fasting sugars always reads over 140mg/dl. I'm 5ft and my doctor wants me to weigh 120lbs, but I weigh 150lbs now after 10lb weight loss for over a year of working at it. I can't wait to finally get rid of my belly fat that is the bane of my existence, and has been for the past 5 years when I was first diagnosed with PCOS. My doctor is getting pre-auth from my insurance today and I really hope it's covered!🤞
