I’ve heard the same thing. I’m on it and pushed the limit yesterday and oh my god. Last night I was ready to blow chunks it was horrible. It was also injection day and I just did not make the right choices.
Hi all. Just happened upon your channel moments ago. 1st full month on Oz, little side effects, very little appetite and I almost forget to eat. When I was first diagnosed in late 2019 was put on trulicty and I was violently ill all the time we thought it was metformin syndrome. Ac1 came down within 30 days and soon as I stopped trulicty I was no longer sick. I'm praying that as the ozempic dose us increased I don't become sick again with side affects
Thank you for this helpful video and the great comments from everyone. I am an obese gentleman who has battled type 2 for more than 10 years. My weight gains started after I had my thyroid irradiated due to Hashimoto's disease. In other words hyperthyroid. Then my weight ballooned from 205 to 302. I am now at 282. In the first few years I was into the exercise, metformin and refusal to eat sweets. I had my sugars down to 6.0 for years. then I missed some of my favorite snacks such as potato chips and became more daring. In no time I became sleepy and lethargic. My blood sugars crept up to the high teens. I was miserable. Sugar levels all over the place. My family doctor is ok but like most he is swamped with so many patients. I have to take the initiative with everything. My type 2 has caused other health problems such as kidney stones and an enlarged prostate. These new developments have been hell. So I asked him to put me on Ozempic. Strange he never suggested it to me before but then again he is so preoccupied. After two injections at the .25 level I have dropped 6 pounds and my sugars are between 6-8. Big surprise and smiles for me. I don't want to be a heart attack, stroke or kidney illness victim from this horrible condition. The Ozempic has already given me hope. I just turned 60 and will have to work into my 70's to keep my bills paid. Retirement is looking far off. I now other people have it even more difficult than I do but we all share similar fears and limitations. Good luck to all of my brothers and sisters who are taking this journey together.
Thanks for this information. I've been on Ozempic for almost 3 months, working my way up to 2mg per week and have had nausea almost daily. Between that and the neuropathy foot pain, I barely move anymore. My blood sugars are greatly improving and I have lost a little weight so my hopes are high that I will come through this successfully. Besides the helpful suggestions already given, Whole Foods has 365 ginger seltzer water that I find very helpful. Also, lime Bubbly seltzer water. Blessings.
I’m going on 4 weeks at the upped dose of 0.5mg of Ozempic and I’ve noticed nausea is a lot more prevalent. The first two weeks of increased dosage, I got violently sick both weeks. I went a week of slight nausea and then I just got sick about 20 minutes ago. However, I think it’s because of what I did. Like others have said, you should never eat loads of food in one sitting because your metabolism slows down. Yesterday, I have almost no lunch and then had a giant dinner fairly late. I had this weird hunch that I would get sick from it and I was right. They recommend to eat more, smaller meals throughout the day versus less, larger meals. I’m hoping for my body to fully acclimate to the higher dosage in the next 2-3 weeks. Overall, Ozempic has done a tremendous job lowering my glucose. I averaged in the 200s regularly prior to. I’m now averaging around 138 and every week it seems to drop a little more. Aside from the occasional nausea, I do seem to have less fatigue with the lower blood sugar. I hope we all can get past the nausea together and onto healthier lives. It’s nice knowing there’s a community that we can turn.
@@judyrico7290how are you doing? We’re you able to get through it?? I am suppose to start Ozempic and it’s been in my fridge for a week cause I’m so afraid of the side effects. Anything you would be willing to share?
@@Fatmommyof2 hi I'm doing good, I currently was switched to mounjaro due to ozempic being on back order. I can tell you the side affects are the same as ozempic. Sour stomach burps and tummy ache. I had gotten over those side affects when I was on ozempic (im so ready to be done with these side effects 😩) Anyhow, both medications work the same. The only difference is that mounjaro is a one dose pen and you don't have to dial the dosage like on the ozempic pen. The insurance now covers mounjaro and the cost is more than ozempic. Did you start back up? And are you scared due to the side affects you had from the first time being on ozempic? Hope all is well with you. Have a blessed day
I've just started Ozempic and have started making my own ginger tea. Just peel and cut up the root, boil it in water with a cinnamon stick for 5 minutes then simmer for 5. Works a treat.
Hi Mila - On my second week of .25 of Ozempic and I am struggling with indigestion/heartburn and nausea. Because of your RUclips video I now know to be more mindful of when I am full and not what is left on plate to tell me I am done eating. Your tips on what can help with the nausea is great too because you mentioned natural ways to deal with it. So "Thank You" and Best of Luck to all your future endeavors. Cheers!
OMG! You are not kidding Sis! I started Ozepic 2 weeks ago ..the first week wasn't bad but this week I ran out of Zofran which helped me so much...this week I am vomiting and have severe diarrhea and since it is once a week I am stuck...It did bring my sugar down so it is a catch 22. So glad I found your channel! I feel we are kindred spirits because we are sharing a similar experience where in my everyday life I feel like no one understands what I am experiencing
You're new BFF. Thank you. I can't believe that people take this just to lose weight. If I wasn't diabetic, I wouldn't take it. I hate feeling so gross.
I just found your channel….probably because I just googled ozempic nausea and vomiting. I took my first dose of .25 at 6 pm this evening and woke up at 4 am having to run to the bathroom to throw up. Gosh, I hope this will get better, but am grateful to have found a forum of people with similar experiences. Thank you . I look forward to learning more from you all.
I keep soda crackers with me at all times and even just one little bite seems to settle my stomach. My nausea seems exactly as it was when I was pregnant. I’m 65 now and definitely not pregnant! LOL!
I regret taking ozembic. My side effects landed me in the hospital. I was so nauseous like 10x per day and I couldn't work at all. The remedies only helped for awhile. Im finally recovering at home and will have to find an alternate solution because I need to work and I can't if all im doing is throwing up all day. My throat is very dry, my lips got super numb, my stomach is so painful I can't even sneeze or laugh without feeling the tightness lead to pain all around, wow also my headache is the worse I ever felt in my life and all I want to do is sleep. I hope everyone interested in taking Ozemba understands that there is a life threatening side effects as in all medications. All the best to everyone and I appreciated coming across this video, its super helpful too bad I came across it too late.
This was the first video I found from you and it helped me so much, esp the part where you explained a little bit about how you can feel nauseous if you overeat on ozempic. as soon as you said it, I realized I had made that mistake. I just started my medications and am dealing with nausea so thank you so much for sharing. I can’t wait to watch your other vids!
I just started Ozempic one week ago. Have ZERO side effects, no nausea, no vomiting, nothing. But it controlled my craving for sweets and I haven’t have a great interest for food like before. I was always ravenous before Ozempic.
Glad to hear that you’re having no side effects. The nausea and vomiting is my biggest fear of my decision of whether I should take this medication. How much weight have you lost currently?
I am the same. I’ve recently moved up to .5 and the same still, just more gassy. I’m happy about that but I haven’t lost any weight. This is my third week. Before I started I wasn’t a big eater but every now and then I would crave sweets or processed food that I was used to eating when I was younger. Now, I’m able to take my time and choose wisely. I don’t have a craving for anything but I’m battling habit. I noticed that sometimes I eat out of habit but with this meds I stop and make a choice instead of just impulse.
I'm on week 4 of ozempic. My doctor started my 0.5 dose after 2 weeks of the 0.25 dose. The nausea is severe and it's crippling and mood killing. I hate it so much. Thanks for the tips, I will definitely be trying the ginger.
@@ShontayR Diarrhea, stomach pain, and sometimes an erratic heart rate , but the side effects have improved. Tuesday will be week 6 for me. However I've been having high sugar readings that I can't explain, I'm careful with what I eat and keep a check constantly to see how my body reacts to foods. Not sure what's going on with that, I have no idea if it's related to Ozempic or not.
I don't have diabetes but I have PCOS and am on Ozempic for it, thanks for this video, I have never been so nauseous from a prescription before, even after surgeries!
My doctor prescribed ondansetron and I find it super helpful! Nausea and getting sick is the worst while on ozempic and the nausea med is like a dream to help.
I'm currently on .75 and have lost 70lbs since October 2021. It is hard to be on this medication IMO. You have good and bad days. The bad days can be really bad (for me anyways).
Thank you Mila, I have taken Ozempic twice now. Still on the starter dose of .25. So far, so good but have been warned about nausea when the dose increases. Thank you for these tips. It's good to know.
@@TheHangryWoman Hi, I try ozempic to loose weight and, I noticed nothing with 0.25 and also nothing with 0,5. I'm disappointed now. Do you know, why this could be with effect ? Are there people who have that experience top ?
I went up on Monday to .5 and I don't know if I'm going to be able to stick with this dosage. I will try the ginger tea remedy and see if that helps any. Thanks for the great advice.
@@TheHangryWoman Were you giving the shot in the gut or the thigh? I had less nausea with using the thigh. And please don’t give up!! I was thin to just right until I had children. I love my kids. I don’t love the messed up hormones. When I was in my late 40s I lost 120 pounds, just following a way of eating that many have followed. Then my Mom got a fatal cancer and my Dad was enveloped by dementia. Caring for them started me towards gaining weight then I had a screwed up surgery and became more disabled. I gained a bunch of weight, of course. Now I need to lose more than a hundred pounds again😞 I’m hoping the OZEMPIC will kick in after 4 months of building up to the 1 mg dose. We need better help to lose weight but the science of medicine isn’t quite where it needs to be. You have time. Just do the best you can. By the way, my daughter’s good friend is skinny, always has been. SHE has a double chin‼️ Don’t let other people make you feel bad about your body. Don’t give them that power. Please, give yourself a break-be nice to you 🤗
Hi, I am on my 6th week. The nausea is horrible. I've been worse with vomiting since my 5th week. I have tried ginger tea, and candy and it's done nothing. I can't do it anymore no more for me.
This is so helpful. I went from one dose of metformin ER daily to morning and evening doses plus ozempic and jardiance. I know it will pass but it’s really hard right now. I’m going to make some ginger tea and lemon water now. Thank you for sharing what has worked for you. It means the world to me 💗
Today was the hardest when I took 2 diabex and 1 jardiance and 1.5mg ozempic and whole day I was vomiting and nausea I am struggling to think that I will missed out work
Thank you everyone for sharing your remedies. When the nausea started for me, I dug out my pressure point wrist bands that I use when I go on a cruise. Works for me everytime. Hope it works for you.
Hi Mila. Thanks so much for your excellent videos. I too am a Type 1.5 diabetic, LADA, in my mid 30s and I just started Ozempic about 1 month ago. I found your videos not only helpful but also motivating. The nausea has started coming on pretty strong, but I think the long term benefits will be really worth it. So I’m trying to will power myself through the nausea. Thanks again for the tips
Thank you for sharing❤ I am on Ozempic for Diabetes type 2. When I started Ozempic @.25 I have a lot of Nausea. Since I switched to .50 nausea is less but I still have it. I still an appetite but I get full quickly . The weight loss has been gradual 20 lbs so far. Another side affect is that I’m tired all the time.
Thank you for this video. I take metformin and it makes me horribly nauseous. Not every day, but when it starts, it's incapacitating. I have found the diet ginger ale helps me as well. Thank you!!
just got put on Ozempic after being on Metformin for 17 years. I’m scared to start my injections because my biggest fear is being dizzy and nauseous. thanks for the tips!
Thank you for the advice. Feeling...ugh...right now. Just started Ozempic on Sunday night. I started to feel better late Monday afternoon. But, not feeling well again this a.m. I will pay more attention to the moment I feel full. For sure I ate past this point last night. Maybe that is why I am not feeling well again this morning.
Cold lemon water! Yum, small meals, reduce non-veggie carbs, switched from metformin (massive GI problems after gallbladder removal), started on Victoza and now converting to Ozempic in 5 days…hopefully no problems
Thank you for your videos. I am on week 3 of Ozempic. I did trulicity for 12 weeks but couldn't take the nausea. A friend shared sniffing an alcohol wipe helps w nausea. I am going to try it next time. Good luck.
I just started Ozempic 0.25 mg today. All the reviews of side effects have me TERRIFIED. So far just injection site itching. I learned when I had surgery a few years ago that smelling 70% isopropyl alcohol helps with nausea. It really does work for some odd reason.
Apparently (spoken to my endocrinologist as I'm starting Ozempic for weight loss) the side effects can be a Common BUT only a very small percentage of people find that its so bad they stop Ozempic
Hi Mila, you are a superhero such a down to earth and real person that we can all relate to. I am a bit older than you and have lived a life full of autoimmune disorders, but recently as well the onset of type two. With ulcerative colitis, Met Forman was not even tolerable I relented, and went to trulicity reading that it was a bit easier on the Gastro, then ozempic then the others and I am a researcher, so I go by not only just hearsay but science. I am just at my wits end five weeks in not just the fatigue, which is not helpful when you have chronic fatigue, but the nausea and I can tolerate that, but it is the slowing of the digestion combating of constipation, and then, with the help of a bit of a stool softener, a huge bout of diarrhea. I tried to eat some more food learned that when I was first diagnosed in my teens with ulcerative colitis, but just have no desire to eat at all. Not a bad thing that I’m losing weight, the only plus in at all, but I hear stories from different people that they all have it or had it, and it somehow became less or nonexistent these side effects. I keep telling myself I’ll give it a few more weeks, and now I’m in the fifth week and just feel like death. Because of autoimmune arthritis, I can’t go out jogging and doing all the running around with spinal surgeries, kept me from doing any hard-core exercise, trying to find the right diet that combines Gastro paresis colitis, and now this shot induced side effects it’s impossible plus just having no energy even to take a shower. Yes I do I force myself to so I don’t send everyone running.😂 just one simple question that I’m sure has been asked here many times I apologize about the length, but does it ever really get better? Do you ever really get past it and when I say it I mean the entire package of side effects or do you have to live with those to get the effects of stabilizing your sugar and losing the weight? Has anyone had as many issues as I have and been stuck with those side effects to the point of not being able to tolerate the medicine at all I would love to hear anything you have to say or anyone in response. I live in beautiful Greece and I can’t even enjoy anything, I love your channel. Keep it coming. We hear you all the way over here.❤❤
Just found this and your channel. You’re so lovely and I look forward to more of your videos. I’m a newly diagnosed type 2, on 2000 mg of Metformin with no problem, and then started Ozempic and blaaaaaa wow. .25 mg for 4 weeks with mild nausea & dizziness and then when I went to .5 the **** hit the fan I tell ya. Week 6, I’m back down to .25 but super upset stomach tonight and nauseated. I loved your tips and will try them all. I hope this eventually subsides!!???
Thank you!! You are correct NO one wants to talk about it!!!! We need to talk about it!! Very informative. I just had my first dose on Friday. And the medication is working!! I have been on Metformin for 4 years and it never worked for me… my doctor did not want to give me anything else! I have been trying to reverse my diabetes. I am very hopeful today!!
I just did my first 0.5mg shot at 10pm - I found that I’d get a massive, 4 hour long headache about two hours after the 0.25mg injections, so I simply switched to doing the shots when I’m getting ready for the night. Your videos have helped me approach all of this with confidence, so thank you! Let’s see how I deal with 0.5mg tomorrow morning 😅
@@LaurenKellyPianoLessons I have been on 1mg for little over 2 months now. I really only had issues with the initial doses - 0.5mg I have only noticed the first time around, and the switch to 1mg I haven't noticed at all. If anything, I'm a bit disappointed in that, while my blood sugar has been great, the appetite reducing factor of Ozempic tapered off over the last 2 months. But ultimately I'm doing really well on it!
@@missbeaussie Perfectly fine. In fact, a bit too good - the reduced appetite has vanish completely, I’m back to my old ways, but my blood sugar remains well controlled. Zero side effects. I guess I’m lucky!
I made the wrong choice as well today. And felt heart palpitations and nauseous. That because I forgot I took ozempic last week. And ate fried foods for two days. Learned tonight not to ever do that. Then I came to this video. Had peppermint tea. And had essential oil. Sat on the toilette for over an hour. Lesson learned
Just wanted to say thank you for this video. I'm on my first week of Ozempic and suddenly got slammed with nausea and vomiting. Peppermint tea and rest definitely helped!
Do others find the nausea gets worse on their periods? I had mild nausea for 3 weeks on ozempic and then my period came it it became really intense. Wasn’t sure if that’s just me or if other women noticed a change at this time too? I’m hoping it lessons soon since I’m only on the starting dose. 😩
Ginger lemon tea works for me. I also keep mints (sf) on me at all times. I was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and I’ve had viral myocarditis cardiomyopathy for the past eleven years. I’m so happy I can across you page. Thank-you. ❤️❤️
OMG its like having morning sickness all over again. Ughhhh.......... I am going to try crackers first thing in the morning and use the ginger tea too. Sugar-free ginger ale too.
I got but on Trulicity yesterday and 2000 mg Metformin to control a unusual spike of my glucose and boy today the nausea was so bad today. You hit that point I forgot about why the nausea happens. Thanks.
You are so beautiful. Thank you for your help. Newly diagnosed T2. My doctor prescribed Ozempic. I got it filled. It is in my fridge. I am afraid to start it because nausea and throwing up is HORRIBLE to me. Metformin gives me diarrhea but I deal. Now I am so afraid.

Thank you so much I am on ozempic and metformin for pcos and weight loss and have lost 90 lbs but had to bump up the dosage for the ozempic and I am so nauseous I couldn’t even eat for two days
Once again you come to the rescue. I was so afraid 2 and a half months ago. I found your channel and it help calm me down a lot. I’m on metformin only and the past few days have been rough. I woke up this morning disappointed wanting to stop taking it. This is a lifesaver. BTW in two and a half months I have gone from 12.9 HBA1C to 6.1. Exercise, diet change and metformin. I so want to get off of metformin. Makes me feel sick all say.
I’m so happy for you! 6.1 is amazing progress, especially in that time frame! I hope you’re able to get off of Metformin when you’re ready. The nausea does go away, but it’s awful at first!
How long have you been in the metformin? The side effects are supposed to dwindle down after about three months. That’s what I was told by my doctor. If it doesn’t stop after the 3 months then speak up and tell them you want to come off and ask for a different medicine and don’t take no for an answer. They push metformin super hard where I live so much so that I had no idea about other diabetic meds. I felt terrible on metformin. I was either nauseous to the point I felt dizzy, had diarrhea or I couldn’t keep my food down. I take glipizide now and that’s works great.
Metformin is one of the best (and oldest) medicines for typ2 Diabetes. It strongly protects the eyes, nerves, vessels, heart and kidneys in ways beyond visible blood glucose control. It also protects against several other diseases. People with diabetes and others - do often want to stop medications (living) a natural way. However this almost always the wrong way to go, creating more problems along the way. Contact your doctor, discuss metformin, dosing amd timing. Good luck.
I had a bunch of problems with metformin too. The constant diarrhea, stomach cramps got so bad I did some research and hears the extended release version relieves most of the symptoms. I tried that and the symptoms went away. The only problem is that the XR version is expensive compared to the generic cheap metformin. Hope that helps
Thank you for your channel & video. I went googling diabetic + nausea and your video came up. I've been battling nausea all week but it's really bad this weekend. I don't feel better until I vomit. I haven't felt like eating either. Everything makes me gag.
Back in the '90s, Altoid came out with ginger-flavored breath "mints". They weren't bad. There was no mint flavor, only ginger. I have no idea if they are still around, but they might be a nice portable ginger source.
Hi, thanks so much for the info. Im on 2000mg of Metformin and 1mg ozempic and I feel absolutely crappy. I have nausea, diarrhoea, stomach cramps and am really struggling with doing anything. The only relief I get is when I lay down. Each time I up my dose is when the nausea sets in. I'm on the highest dose now so I'm hoping that the nausea subsides. Luv your videos..thanks 🥰
My doctor wants to start me on Olympic but I'm afraid of the side effects. Being nausea terrifying to me. I'm praying and asking God to get over this fear 😨
Thanks for this informative video. I was feeling nauseous and didn’t know what to do. I was drinking peppermint tea and ginger root and that helped. Also Trader Joe’s sells ginger candy. I was eating a salad today and couldn’t finish it, I didn’t realize it was the Ozempic working! I will try tones smaller meals more frequently
I have type 2 diabetes and just took my very first Ozempic shot two days ago. The first day I had an upset stomach. This evening I ate dinner as I do every week at my MIL's retirement home. It's a big buffet and I usually stuff myself. Tonight I got full after a few bites and felt nauseated. I couldn't eat dessert at all. On one hand it was great not to stuff myself. On the other hand it was kind of a bummer not to be able to enjoy the food. Thanks so much for the advice; I'll try some of these remedies.
Waiting for insurance approval for Ozempic .. been on Metformin for the past year after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I’m supposed to take 1 Metformin in the morning and 1 in the evening. I’ve only been able to take the 1 evening dose at bedtime. It gives me stomach pains, nausea and major diarrhea. So I am waiting to be approved through insurance for the Ozempic. But I’m so scared to try it as there seems to be a lot of nausea and vomiting side effects & headaches.
Good evening and i'm so glad to find your channel. I just started today with Ozempic and my doctor mentioned that the most common side effect is nausea. However, I'm also vegan which hopefully will help me with some of the side effects as I'm not consuming any animal based products. Lastly, I also do intermittent fasting
I would love to hear how you do with nausea! It was really bad for me for a bit, but then I got used to the med and it was smooth sailing until I developed tachycardia.
I am sure these remedies are effective, but my problem is that I will feel perfectly fine for a long period and then the nausea comes on suddenly. Once I am aware of it, I have no more than ten seconds before the vomiting starts. There is no coming back from being sick-can't control it at all. So maybe this is the wrong info for my particular situation. I guess I could employ the ginger tea throughout the day. Oddly, I have been on the highest dose of Metformin (1000mg 2X/day) for several years and never had a single side effect. I felt invincible. Boy is Ozempic bringing me back to earth! Thanks for the video. These are some good suggestions.
I had no side effects for the first week however my second week, I felt so nauseous after eating and mind you I barely ate much at all! I’m down 2kg so far and I’ve just done my 3rd shot yesterday and I can not stop vomiting all day, can not imagine being on 0.5 😭
I’ve been on it a week and am *so* nauseous. My second dose is tomorrow. I’m a little scared about three weeks from now when the dose goes up if I’m this nauseous now. But I wonder how much is related to the food quantity. I feel like I’m not eating that much at all but maybe I need to eat even less. I’ll really try to focus on the feeling of being satisfied/full and see if that helps. I think it’s also sort of hard in social situations, when you have like two bites of something you’ve ordered... people look at you like you’re nuts.
Hi Monique i just started Ozempic today i had a very small breakfast Thinking i would get sick lol i hate being nauseous lol so i hope eating small will help ,so how it now for you ,you got me thinking about when we got out to eat with friends am i just going to eat just 2 bites lol but thanks for you information. It kinda scares me thinking about when i go to up my dose too.
Hi @@robertguzman4075 ~ My doctor had also increased my metformin at the same time and he said it was actually the metformin causing the extreme nausea. So he had me go back to my regular dose and it got a lot better. I really didn’t have any issues when I went up to .5 on the ozempic. Thank goodness! I’ve lost 20 lbs. And if I cut my portion in 1/2 when I go out to eat, it works well. How are you doing?

Thanks for this video. I just found your videos today. I did my first shot of Ozempic this morning feeling a little nausea so I'm definitely going to make me some lemon ginger tea.
I just started the .5 and have not gotten sick. Well maybe the day after I upped to .5. But I have had other stomach issues over the last year, so it is seriously no big deal. I actually feel better. Now watch me get sick. Lol
My dr prescribed Zofran For bad days, and I know before I was on any diabetes medicine any time I got super nauseous I always took Dramamine over the counter for the times win ginger and peppermint just didn’t cut it
I tried Victoza (a sister medication to ozempic) about a year ago and it made me so sick. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I didn’t understand how the medicine worked and why I was feeling so ill. I took my daily (and the lowest) dose for about a week, couldn’t handle it and stopped it altogether. I began to read more into it and for the most part everyone was saying if you can just get over the nausea, it’ll be worth it. I gave it another chance, I lasted 3 days and stopped it again. It’s been about a year, and although my a1c went from a 9.8 to a 6.5 in about 5 months with jardiance, my weight is at a standstill even with diet and exercise. I started my first dose (.25) of ozempic today about 6 hours ago- I’m just now starting to get nausea that is coming in waves. I’ll feel normal one moment and the next I’ll have that *about to vomit feeling* all over my body; clammy, dizzy, heavy jaw, anxiety. Then, it dissipates. I am going to do my best to push through these side effects. Thank you for the information, perspective, and tips. :)
You might ask your Dr about starting with an even smaller dose than 0.25mg. Mine said there are 20 micro clicks between 0 and .25 and also 20 micro clicks between .25 and .50mg. She advised me to start low and go slow. And not be afraid to make a tiny increase at recommended interval. Discuss w your physician.
I’ve been on Ozempic for 8 months now. Started at the lowest dose, .25 Then went up to 0.50 then 0.75 and finally 1.0. I have been at the 1.0 since late August. I was doing fine, no nausea, just the runs once in a while (had the runs really bad when I first started. Like bad as in when I felt it coming on, I needed to be near a toilet). So now, almost 3 months on the 1.0, I am finally losing significant weight (was 225 when I started in March, I’m at 208 now) but the nausea has come on fast and furious. Basically 24/7. Some days it’s tolerable. But it is starting to affect my everyday life. I am also on 1000 mg Metformin (have been on this for probably 17/18 years now. Went on it for PCOS. I’m post-menopausal now). Gravol or Ginger Gravol helps most days. Talked to my pharmacist, and she said to go back down to 0.75. It’s killing me to do this as I am finally seeing the weight coming off, but the nausea is brutal. I’ve ordered those motion sickness patches off Amazon to see if they will work. My A1C is at 5.8, hasn’t been that good, ever ! My fasting sugars in the am are usually 5.6 to 5.9. Could taking the Metformin AND the Ozempic be making the nausea worse for me ? Im just baffled as to why the nausea is starting now after being on the 1.0 for a couple of months now. Wondering now if I can go off the Met ??
@@ChiChi-vl1sx the patches were helping a bit. I went down to .75 and have been on this dose for 2 weeks now. The nausea has pretty much gone away. I’m going to go back up to 1.0 when I take my next dose and see if the nausea comes back. I was taking Ginger supplements, ginger Gravol, reg Gravol, ginger Gravol lozenges and wearing the motion sickness patch. If the nausea comes back on the 1.0, then I’ll go back down to .75 again. I am 201 lbs right now, was hoping to hit 200 by New Years Day.
Thanks for this video. I will be starting Ozempic Monday and I am trying to prepare myself. My Dr. Did mention the nausea and even prescribed me medication just in case.
@@ACSM1828 my physician gave me Zofran to take for nausea as needed. I had my first injection Sunday and today is Tuesday and I have to say I am not really hungry and when I am I don't feel like I am starving like before where I just had to eat something. I have had a very slight headache here and there but could be my sinuses acting up. As for nausea, at times I have felt very very little. If anything it is more like not making me not want to eat vs. Actually vomiting so it's not bad at all just a little uncomfortable feeling here and there and i have not taken the Zofran.
@@sherrykrauhs2977 good luck, I am sure you will be fine! I started on a low dose first and did not experience much nausea, if anything it was manageable and only made me not want to eat but once I went to the higher dose I did experience nausea and had to take the Zofran on occasion. I have lost about 25lbs in the past maybe 3 months or so. I have also done some intermittent fasting as well and some exercise. Hi! I just ran across your video. I started taking Ozempic in November and get SO nauseous about the 2nd day after taking dosage, I am beside myself with the side effects but I am going to try your suggests. They seem easy enough and some I remember my mom suggesting when I was a young kid. Thanks for the suggestions and the help.

@@Fatmommyof2 hi
I'm doing good, I currently was switched to mounjaro due to ozempic being on back order. I can tell you the side affects are the same as ozempic. Sour stomach burps and tummy ache. I had gotten over those side affects when I was on ozempic (im so ready to be done with these side effects 😩)
Anyhow, both medications work the same.

Right? How are all of these celebrities getting passed this horrible nausea? 🤮

Did you try cutting down your food? Nausea isn't as bad with an empty stomach
Curious if you will get it after increasing dose. How are you feeling?
My Dr has me on the 0.25 for 4 weeks, then on to 0.5 for type 2 diabetes. Did you have any other side effects when you started?
@@ShontayR Diarrhea, stomach pain, and sometimes an erratic heart rate , but the side effects have improved. Tuesday will be week 6 for me. However I've been having high sugar readings that I can't explain, I'm careful with what I eat and keep a check constantly to see how my body reacts to foods. I don't have diabetes but I have PCOS and am on Ozempic for it, thanks for this video, I have never been so nauseous from a prescription before, even after surgeries!
Peppermint essential oil is my main go-to. I also find that warmer fluids help more than cold.

Thanks so much for the tips and sharing your insight.
I JUST STARTED VICTOZA AND HAVE BEEN NAUSEOUS THANKS FOR THE ADVICE
Hi, thanks so much for the info. Im on 2000mg of Metformin and 1mg ozempic and I feel absolutely crappy. I have nausea, diarrhoea, stomach cramps and am really struggling with doing anything. The only relief I get is when I lay down. Each time I up my dose is when the nausea sets in. I'm on the highest dose now so I'm hoping that the nausea subsides. Luv your videos..thanks 🥰
Thanks for sharing. I’m a new Ozempic user and on 2000mg of metformin. How are you feeling now?
My doctor wants to start me on Olympic but I'm afraid of the side effects. Being nausea terrifying to me. I'm praying and asking God to get over this fear 😨
I'm on Wegovy and got sick this morning, common side effect is nausea, I'm glad I found your video!
Ginger has helped a lot!
All of you guys that are on Ozempic, did you start on metformin first?? How did you do and was nausea a huge factor??
Waiting for insurance approval for Ozempic .. been on Metformin for the past year after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I’m supposed to take 1 Metformin in the morning and 1 in the evening. I’ve only been able to take the 1 evening dose at bedtime. It gives me stomach pains, nausea and major diarrhea. So I am waiting to be approved through insurance for the Ozempic. But I’m so scared to try it as there seems to be a lot of nausea and vomiting side effects & headaches.
Good luck!
Ginger juice helps with weight loss as well.
I recently started Ozempic, Nausea is my only side effect for now. I hope it passes over time.
@@MoniqueRamsey I cut down on my eating and i havent felt sick so september 2nd i start .5 but i cant get my sugar to go down just now this week it finally has come down but nothing like when i was on insulin and metformin but metformin was making me feel sick all day i feel good just wish my sugar would come down more but i think when i go to.5 it will lol.
@@robertguzman4075 my A1C came down after the first 3 months. I’m hoping it’ll continue to improve. I’ve never been on insulin and hoping I’ll never need to be. 🤞 But not eating all of life’s yummy things isn’t easy… 😒😂
@@MoniqueRamsey Sounds great.
Learned more from this video than from my Dr. Maybe I need a new Dr!
Thanks for this video. I just found your videos today. I did my first shot of Ozempic this morning feeling a little nausea so I'm definitely going to make me some lemon ginger tea.
You are an angel! Thank you!
I just started the .5 and have not gotten sick. Well maybe the day after I upped to .5. But I have had other stomach issues over the last year, so it is seriously no big deal. I actually feel better.
Now watch me get sick. Lol
Thank you for the tips I had my first injection on 17th and Today is the 20th and I have experienced the nauseous feeling already
Thank you for this information. Especially about the ginger and peppermints to help alleviate nausea.
Good info thanks. I have to take ondesteron
I'm about to take my first dose, so I really appreciate these vids. Thanks!
Best of luck to you!
Thank you! I haven't had any noticeable side effects yet
Sorry to hear of the nausea. I’m thinking about getting the nausea patches also to help when I start on Ozempic. So are they not working for you?
@@ChiChi-vl1sx the patches were helping a bit. I went down to .75 and have been on this dose for 2 weeks now. The nausea has pretty much gone away. I’m going to go back up to 1.0 when I take my next dose and see if the nausea comes back. I was taking Ginger supplements, ginger Gravol, reg Gravol, ginger Gravol lozenges and wearing the motion sickness patch. If the nausea comes back on the 1.0, then I’ll go back down to .75 again. I am 201 lbs right now, was hoping to hit 200 by New Years Day.
Did u stop your met?
Thank you so much!
This has definitely helped im taking victoza and on the last dose I have been so nauseous from it
I have gastropraresis which makes me feel full, I took Trulicity and it caused nothing but problems.
Love your hints.
Thanks for this video. I will be starting Ozempic Monday and I am trying to prepare myself. My Dr. Did mention the nausea and even prescribed me medication just in case.
WHAT MEDICATION DID THE DOC PRESCRIBE TO HANDLE NAUSEA, THX IN ADVANCE
@@ACSM1828 my physician gave me Zofran to take for nausea as needed. I had my first injection Sunday and today is Tuesday and I have to say I am not really hungry and when I am I don't feel like I am starving like before where I just had to eat something. I have had a very slight headache here and there but could be my sinuses acting up. As for nausea, at times I have felt very very little. If anything it is more like not making me not want to eat vs. Actually vomiting so it's not bad at all just a little uncomfortable feeling here and there and i have not taken the Zofran.
@@Veronicaalcantar I just started today too. Hope I don't experience all of this.
In all honesty I am not the best at maintaining diets or exercise so I could have probably done better. Overall I am feeling better about myself since I have seen some progress.
@@Veronicaalcantar Thanks so much for reaching out. You have given me the hope and encouragement that I needed. Truthfully, after reading the comments, I was scared to death. Thank you so much. You are a God send.
Thank you! I'm on my 2nd week of 0.25 ozempic and feel so much nausea. I've been sipping on ginger ale and have been using ginger gravol...but its not great.
Zofran is an anti nausea medication that helped me
@@denasewell yes I was given that...but my endocrinologist advised it wasn't a good idea to take a medication like zofran on a regular basis...just to be able to use ozempic.
@@marion4739 I did not know that my doctor didn't tell me that.Thank you for sharing that with me
@@denasewell you're welcome...I guess different doctors have different opinions 😊
@@marion4739 I am so glad you responded I thought Zofran was like Pepto or something like that I have it "Take as needed" I had no idea of the serious side effects...I should have looked Zofran up...I guess I should look everything up...It is not recommended for people with heart problems which I have..Really thank you so much!
Thank you for this information great ideas.
Ty very very helpful I drink ginger tea n it too help me ty I just noticed how it helps so I try to drink a cup of ginger tea at least once a day to relieve the nausea feeling
Glad I found your channel! I’m on my second week of ozempic and it’s a huge difference for me just coming off of metformin. I would call out or go home early at least once a week on the metformin, that stuff just doesn’t agree with me. I’m gonna try your tips out for sure because I’ve been trying to figure it out. I do eat a whole lot less then what I use to eat but I think I need to go a little less. Thanks lovey 💖
Man it has been rough. As far as work. Ive had to leave work early, Ive had to call in. It has been keeping my numbers down amazingly but the nausea! My gawd!
Great video. Great personality. Great speaking talent. I’m a new subscriber !
I took my first shot today but I also had pop and some cookies earlier today worried I’ll be sick 😮
