I love the attitude you have about it and how you say it changed your life for the better! As someone with food addiction problems and eating disorders my entire life getting my Type 2 diagnosis actually helped me change my lifestyle for the better also so I liked hearing you say that!
I absolutely believe that. People who are highly unhappy project negativity at people who are genuinely happy and working hard because they can’t see themselves ever doing the same. So, they take it out on other people so they can make everyone miserable just like them. It’s sad actually. I feel bad for people who are too afraid to be themselves.
Just found your channel! I'm Type 2, I've been on insulin for 5 years & Ozempic for a year. I lost 70 pounds in the last year, but gained 20 pounds back in a month when it wasn't available. Now I'm back on it and stabilizing my weight (not losing). Trying to get my A1C better. Once my insurance accepts Mounjaro, my doctor wants me to try it. I'm so happy you are saying Oz isn't the answer, but an aid. I workout and try to watch my diet... it's about sustainable changes of lifestyle. Thank you! 💓
I took it for nearly a year and didn't lose any weight. I told my doctor, "If all this does is suppress your appetite, it's not gonna work, because I barely eat". And I was right. I actually gained weight on it. It's definitely not a miracle and more like a surgery free gastric bypass.
My journey with Ozempic has been the best thing that has ever happen to me! I feel great to wake up every morning to have my fasting blood sugar in a normal range instead of in the 200 range.
Your diabetes story sounds so much like mine. I'm also a LADA diabetic. I started Ozempic, along with my insulin, in June this year. My sugars are better and I've lost 30 lbs. Taking 2mg doses. You look great! Love your blog!
Thank you so much, and glad to hear it’s going well for you, too! LADA is so wonderfully weird, but I feel like we get the best of all the worlds in terms of management tools! Thank you for commenting and sharing 💕
@@user-nr5he3ic9o I have an amazing Dr. She worked with my Endocrinologist and they decided to give it a shot. I was overweight so it helped me lose weight. This also helped reduce my risk of heart attack and stroke. My triglycerides are the best they've ever been, cholesterol is perfect, kidneys and liver are functioning well. Now The only problem I had was my insurance company. They approved it for a while but then stopped. I get it , through my Dr, at an out of state compounding pharmacy. I lost a total of 40 lbs and I'm back to the lowest dosage to maintain. The New England Journal of Medicine published an article indicating Ozempic can help Type 1 diabetics with BG control issues. I definitely use less insulin than I did.
So happy for you that you're doing better! I was on 1mg dose of Ozempic, my type 2 Diabetes was doing better but i was losing too much weight. Also i had the Ozempic face too, gaunt, skinny amd more wrinkles then ever. I decided to lower my dose to .5 and then we got the shortage and got switched to Trulicity. It took a few weeks at .5 for my face to look better though. I try and go back to Ozempic .5 , i also lost all appetite at the higher dose, it was depressing. I think .5 is much better for me.
This was my experience as well. Not only did the 1 mg dose make me feel awful I was loosing weight to fast. My goal isn’t weight loss it was to manage my blood sugars. .5 mg seems to be chefs kiss.
Glad to see you’re doing so great! I am actually starting Ozempic today! I’ve kept up with most our your updates and have watched even more since yesterday after my Dr recommended it. I’m doing well with my current treatment but I really feel that if I can do well with Ozempic, it can take me to a new level! Keep up the good work and good luck with all your goals!
Happy to hear about your experience and positive results. In the news it’s all about the weight loss not the health benefits. I’m on ozempic too and I’m healthy and my A1C is in pre diabetic range!
I'm super happy to hear that, Gloria! And I agree - people with diabetes are getting erased from the message some how, and the medication was meant to benefit us. That's why I keep sharing. It's important for people with diabetes to know that this can be a benefit to our management.
Congratulations! I'm really happy to hear about your journey. I wish you the best of luck and I am confident that your experience will help you be a successful dietitian.
Congrats, You look great! Glad we have a tool to help us diabetics control sugar intake. I was finally able to order my ozempic and will be taking for the first time tomorrow. Hopefully I get the same great results you have. Keep up the great work!
Hi, T2 on insulin here who just started Ozempic .25 today (an hour ago!) You look great, you have a great attitude, and congrats on not letting the nay-sayers derail you. There are so many reasons that our bodies fail to cooperate with our desires and goals. In your case (and mine) there is plenty or research showing that imbalances in blood glucose cause food cravings and weight gain (not the other way around.) I know for a fact that the absolutely most hungry I have even been is during/after a hypoglycemic attack (measured at 31 mg/Dl -- anything below 70 is NOT OK) due to an accidental insulin overdose. I wanted to just pick up the fridge and pour all the food into my mouth. HA! I have learned from the few "hypos" that I have experienced that wild fluctuations in blood glucose can cause out-of-control hunger. Anything that can help diabetics level out, stay level and as close as possible to the normal range, is a very good thing. I'm praying hard that Ozempic will be the next tool that helps me towards that goal. Thank you for your great channel.
Thank you for sharing your experiences, I’m looking into starting my own journey in the next couple of weeks. All of your information has helped me feel better about making this choice. I am type 2 diabetic but still feel that there is a lot of stigma placed on people for using this treatment option. Thank you for helping to ease my anxiety. Your genuine documentation of your experience is so very much appreciated.
Thank you for sharing. I am with you on slow. Especially cuz then not so much sagging skin. I just started this week. Had the worst first few days with side effects. Today woke up feeling great.
You really have a very healthy approach to weight loss! Slowly but surely is the best way to go, and least likely to fall on the rebound trap! And prioritizing that it's a means toward better health and particularly, healthy blood glucose levels as a diabetic!
Hello Mila.....I have Type 2 Diabetes and I have been on the .25 mg of Ozempic since August 2023 and I feel the same way as you in regards to taking Oz. You look amazing and congratulations on your 60lb weight loss!
@@westcoastlass in January of this year my prescription insurance stopped covering Ozempic so I was forced to make the switch to Mounjaro. I am currently taking the 5mg dose of Mounjaro and I really like it better than Oz.
Ozempic has helped me so much. Normal A1C, and weight loss, but as of 2024 my prescription plan (I am on Medicare) will not pay anything for Ozempic. I would like to continue, but what to do?
I know that the manufacturer has coupons, but I'm not sure if they apply to Medicare. I would start there (search Ozempic Coupon). You can also talk with your doctor about alternatives to see what the Medicare formulary might cover as an alternative. Your doctor also may be able to appeal for you. If it's medically necessary and you're showing progress, they may be able to make a case for Medicare to cover it. It's a long process, but worth it in the end.
I need help losing weight I'm 254 and, need to lose like 100lbs ,I do have comorbid autoimmune issues, I'm wondering if my doctor would let me be on this ? I'm not diabetic but, I was close last bloodwork.. I was close, but, we aren't sure how that turns out until I get my bloodwork done.. Next few days ..I really need to do something to help me with my other issues not just weight loss, Thanks for the video !!
what people fail to understand Ozempic is really for diabetics with the weight loss as a bonus, monjero, and there is another one,, that is strictly for weight loss for me i was Trulicity, i had to get off it,, it was making me fatigued along with increased appetite which is crazy, because it suppose suppress it,, i would feel overwhelmingly hungry, and i was on the 1.75
What a wonderful positive aura you have. Congratulations on the reduction of your A1c! That's massive 👏 and also on your sustainable weight loss. You look amazing, girl! I started on oral semaglutide just over a week ago and have been so very pleased with the lowering of my insulin already. I've been able to reduce my long-acting insulin from 54 to 44 already and my fast acting on from between 14-16 units pre meal to 6-8 units!! My A1c was 56, but i had to work very hard to get that, but now that doesn't seem such a battle. Your attitude on weight loss is very perfect, too. It's a marathon, not a sprint! And it's fair more sustainable in the long run. I need to lose the weight too and like you have found it impossible so if i lose weight on this then ill be over the moon, but for now i just want to get my diabetes in better shape. I think you will make a brilliant nutritionist with your own experience alongside the wonderful positive attitude you have. I wish you so much happiness and success!
A slow weight loss is easier on your psyche. You get used to you at each stage. Too often, people who lose weight fast still think of themselves as fat when they are not. Good for you!
I believe I covered this in the video, but the year prior to starting Oz, I lost about 19 lbs - no meds. I then started Ozenpic and dropped another 40. I began Ozempic at 219 lbs.
with trulicity i lost four pounds the first two weeks, the last two weeks on the lowest dose i gained it back,, the first week on the highest dose, it made me so much hungry and tired, i gained weight......... i said wait at this point, i called my dr, and said this is not right,, now with my sugar it did do well with that point,, because i am also taking a short term insulin for breakfast and dinner, but trulicity made me so hungry, it was crazy,, every time i would go to dr to get weight check, i would gain weight ON TRULICITY so my dr took me off it, and said lets see how u do with out it
Thanks for sharing your story and info! Unfortunately people with diabetes will lose weight slower than those with normal blood sugar, with or without Ozempic. So seeing a celeb lose weight over night with ozempic is not realistic for someone with diabetes. ❤
Hi iv had insulin resistance since i was 13 and iam now ozempic so happy with my results so far.iam from Australia and on a script from a doctor will only cost around $40 to $50 per pen i was shocked when I learnt it cost so much in the usa

Doing it sustainably has just felt like so much less stress, and more freedom. I'm really happy I took a different approach.
Is there a reason why you opted for 3 years of Ozempic vs weight loss surgery to help maintain your weight and control your diabetes?
Mostly because weight loss surgery doesn’t help manage LADA. It’s also a big decision and cost to undergo weight loss surgery.
Am confused you said you stared at 219 Ozempic then you say you lose 60 lbs but the number is37 not 60 in 3 year so what’s your A1c now
I started at my highest weight of 242. Down to 219 before I began Ozempic. Last A1C was 5.7%
So ins pays for it with no diabetes or obesity? Looking fabulous
