I keep saying it, but your videos are so good! Diabetes pharmacist here! Your endocrinologist probably started you on the lowest dose 0.25 mg weekly and will go up gradually to try to help those pesky possible GI side effects! I love GLP1s for my patients. They also have potential cardiovascular benefits as well like SGLT2s. Keep up the great work! I’m so glad to see patients sharing their stories like you do so it can help others out there. 😀
Thank you so much! You're exactly right - I'm on the lower dose of Ozempic for 2 injections and then I up to the full dose. I didn't realize the other day until I asked my endo why I was talking all of this stuff/why I could still take meds for type 2 that I wondered if others had the same question!
@@TheHangryWoman I’m literally going to cry. Thank you so so much. I’m actually adopted and have no family medical history and because of that I have been feeling a little angry towards my old doctors for not noticing things when I would express concerns. Which unfortunately is a frequent thing for women of color. It’s hard when you feel like your body and the people that are supposed to help you are failing you. I have an endocrinologist though now who I absolutely love and is also a women of color so I have a really really good feeling things are about to look up.
I do wish I knew about you 5 months ago when diagnosed. Thank you!! I have searched for someone who talks about diabetes without all the bells and whistles, if you know what I mean. Someone who covered every topic, negative and positive, in a calm manner. You taught me more this morning in two hours when I accidentally found you ,than all the sources combined (doctor, nurse, research, other diabetics, and RUclips). Do you use Patron? You definitely desire to be. Thank you and keep up the wonderful work.
I was diagnosed with diabetes last year and have been struggling to find medications which work. Metformin made me incredibly sick so instead I went to glipizide. After trying multiple medications this year I'm on three, Nateglinade, alogliptin and glipizide. My blood sugar is still barely under control but getting better. Your channel has been super helpful with not feeling so guilty about having type 2 diabetes. I am trying to get on Jardiance but my insurance keeps denying it.
Thank you so much - I'm glad I could help! Since you have commercial insurance, check the manufacturer's website. I believe Jardiance has a coupon that can significantly lower the price.www.jardiance.com/type-2-diabetes/savings/
I had such bad side effects with even the extended release metformin so I was happy to switch to Jardiance. The only con is I started having yeast infections which I’ve never had an issue with before. This has stopped since we added trulicity.
Hey, I am aslo newly diagnosed as LADY diabetic at 23. I was first diagnosed at 20 as T2D. Recently I checked my C-peptide level and it is 0.56nmol/L but surprisingly GADA antibody test is -Ve. I am little confused why GADA-65 test is -ve if it is LADA ? Aslo my HbA1c goes down for last 3 years. It was 6.8 when I diagnosed but now it's 3.9. It's really confusing what is going on.
Thank you so much! I use the Nikon z6 with a 50mm lens. It creates that nice and soft background. And double thank you! I always hope someone can take something away from my videos, whether they have diabetes or not.
I am just beginning to see your videos, I am going back through them. What is your thought about Rybelsus? From my understanding it is the same as Ozempic but just in pill form. will this start me into having to take insulin? This was a suggestion from my doctor to perhaps begin?

Just lovely. Pure and honest.
You are so kind. Thank you, Janet!
I was just diagnosed with diabetes and you’ve made it so much easier for me to handle this new life style. Thank you so much it’s been very difficult
I know it's hard, Lily. I'm so glad my little videos are helpful. I hope you're doing ok and I'm here for you.

Thank you so much for saying this! I’m glad any of my videos have helped you learn something new. That’s enough for me! 😊

fyi, Jardiance is expensive too...$100/month for 1 pill per day!
Very nice video quality!!! What camera do you use?
Also, thank you for sharing your experience; I can only imagine how it must be to have diabetes.🙃

Happy birthday!!
You are so sweet!! Thank you!
Metformin gives my mom low sugars
I HATE metformin!!!! Glipizide is much better
The nausea is unreal. I couldn’t believe how sick it really made me!
