Today, we're answering a question many of you have been asking me: can Jardiance, a popular diabetes management medication, really be the key to weight loss?
Jardiance, also known as Empagliflozin, isn't just your average medication-it's a superhero in the realm of diabetes management. But could it also be the secret weapon for weight loss? I'll break down the science behind Jardiance's mechanism of action, exploring how it regulates blood sugar levels and why some claim it's helped them achieve significant weight loss.
But before we get too carried away by these grand claims, let's explore what this could mean for weight loss. While it's true that Jardiance can lead to sugar excretion and calorie loss, are the real-life results as amazing as they claim, or are they more modest than the superhero tales suggests? is there a hidden backstory that involves lifestyle changes like healthier eating and increased physical activity?
I'll separate fact from fiction and uncover the real-life impact of Jardiance on weight loss.
Plus, I'll address the burning question: can you simply request Jardiance from your doctor to kickstart your weight loss journey? Watch this week’s video to learn the truth of it all!
Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next video!

Updaate from a month ago. I have lost a total of 27 lbs as of today, it is my 10th week on jardiance 10 mgs, plus lower carb and 2 meals a day. my carb tolerance is not great, but improving. my blood pressure is better and this medication is working for weight loss and my a1C went from 7.4 in June, to 6 . my morning fasting sugars were in double digits, now they are 5.5 or so (Canadian, or 100 US.) still have 30 lbs or so to lose. thumbs up for Jardiance!

I have been persevering with this med, along with lower carb and glumetza. in 5 weeks I have lost 14 lbs. I know I would have lost only half that without it. my only carbs are from dairy, berries, and veggies. I was not eating often enough which caused ketosis. Now I eat greek yogourt and fruit and 1/4 fiber cereal for breakfast, only a fat free latte and a homemade biscotti for lunch, and meat and low carb veg dinner. I am post menopause 64 and on HRT. it works!

If it's the compounded form there has been reports of impurities that could be harmful. If it is true ozempic it is likely due to you not eating enough protein and other nutrients.

As a diabetic who has had great results with glp1 meds, i am having trouble getting the correct dose for the 2nd time in 6 months due to shortages. Promoting the off-label use of these meds strictly for weight loss is undoubtedly making the situation worse.

No doubt. But, with Wegovy, Saxenda, and Zepbound all on the market now, and indicated for weight-loss (not Type 2 diabetes), that should be less and less of an issue going forward.
IOW, diabetics will have their particular meds, and ppl with obesity will have theirs.
Now it’s just up to Big Pharma to make enough of all of those. 😯

I am now on Jardiance, 10 mg plus glumetza 500. I eat low carb anyway but gained about 30 lbs from eating too much and being sedentary. Well my doctor wants my A1C down as it climbed fro 6 to 7.4 in a year so she prescribed Jardiance along with the Glu. Is it supposed to put you in heavy Ketosis? becuase that is what it is doing to me, and I am already salt challenged, having to take potassium prescription pills and added salt, I think this medication is not good for me. I feel terribly weak on it. Better if I cut pill in half, and on half a pill, it brings my after meal sugar to under 5, which usually it is 8 or 9. this in in less than a week, so it does work very well!
Mind you , I am riding my bike every morning, and only getting carbs from veggies. not sure if ketosis is what I want...Any thoughts anyone?

Me neither. I started taking Farxiga about a year ago and didn't really lose any weight while trying to do so. I fell off the wagon for a while and got refocused a few months ago. Now I am actually losing weight slowly, but Farxiga isn't really helping, and I just learned why in this video.
I am doing the 5:2 diet but usually more like 4:3. I'm a pretty big guy, and men are allowed 600 calories on down days. I actually had been allowing myself about 900 calories and doing low carb (not Keto), thinking I had a few hundred calorie, and up to a 75 carb, advantage. My experiences were not confirming this, and now I know it for sure.

Jardiance has not been my favorite med for lowering blood sugar. Peeing sugar gives me a topical yeast infection every single day, very uncomfortable. Last year I decided to take the bull by the horns and eliminate virtually all added sugar from my diet. My a1c is down to 5, and my triglycerides, cholesterol & all that stuff is where it should be too. I developed a kind of flashing in my peripheral vision apparently related to my sugar going down, and the endo reduced my insulin (long term once a day). Eye stuff is improving, but still happening. Last endo visit, she reduced the insulin again and I plaintively asked if Jardiance could be reduced. Went from 25 to 10, and life is better, though still not unaffected - which surprises me bc there's so little sugar (only like the sugar in broccoli) going in. If women taking Jardiance are all getting yeasty and injured because of being awash in sugar, that seems like not a great solution.

    • @johnlee-fg8ij
      @johnlee-fg8ij 6 месяцев назад +2

I’m very interested in your comment about the flashing in your peripheral vision. As I was gradually increasing the dosage of Ozempic, I had a number of optic nerve migraines. I occasionally get one but I was now having an attack two to four times a week. No pain, just the aura for about 30 minutes. Had to sit down and wait it out. However, since the dosage has evened out, they have gone. But your comment is the first one I’ve seen that relates to eye side effects.

@@johnlee-fg8ij Hi John. I wish I could offer more info but I haven't got it. My ophthalmologist can't tell me what this phenomenon is called, but since it began within days of my eliminating sugar, she directed me to my endo to have my diabetes meds adjusted. My endo also cannot tell me what is happening with my eyes, but from my lab numbers decided to adjust my meds, and that has caused the phenomenon to happen less frequently (still every day) and less largely (it used to be like pails of milk were being poured down my peripheral vision. Now it's more like soap bubbles popping. I only get to see the endo every 4 months (I live in a rural area of New Hampshire and we are limited on medical staff) so it will be a slow process to get this adjusted for
