Being a hardcore offroader my self .. i would say the auto diff locks works very well in this car 👍 Suzuki All Grip Awd nice 👍 A Fwd drive car can never do these stuff and neither An AWD car without diff locks .
And disregard the negative comments. I am not a fan of maruti, but they have done some good work on there car this time. I have been a rally driver and i can see the car has some what potential on off road but not a proper off road, but it has enough capability to get you out from some messy situation where other compact suv will stuck for sure.

If I have to fix fog lamp to my new car from outside by cutting/ drilling car body/frame for safety in night & etc driving then that is not a practical car concept.
Why don't you measure it against the old Grand Vitara off road? The old Grand Vitara stood out against the rest because it was a true 4WD with a dual range transmission. Now it's just another soft road SUV, just like the rest. Not capable of towing anything, It no longer measures up as a 4WD. Sorry I'm out! It's a great shame as I've been an advocate for the Grand Vitara for a very long time. My first one was bought new in January 2000 and my latest a 2013 model. I've been on 4WD trips around Australia with it for years and towing a Camper trailer. I use it around the farm to check livestock and to take a trailer to town for 16 bales of hay every week. It takes me to many camping trips including Fraser Island.... In my opinion this new Grand Vitara is a very big step back by Suzuki. 😪
Indeed a legendary car, but in Indian market new format grand vitara ticks more boxes out, considering great fuel economy and price quotient. We always have capable SUV feom the likes of Toyota and Mahon but they lack Mass market Volumes, which something every brand wants for high profitability

People are mocking it for its AWD system The fact is that the all grip system is developed for cold regions as you can see on the mode selector it has snow and sport mode with a lock button. The system was created to keep driving in snow and not on rocks. It is a AWD system and not 4wd. I

Good marketing & huge fan based. Most cars can do this easily...I live in a hilly area and travel to places where this kind of terrain is normal...Even in emergency, this AWD will be helpful only by 5 to 10%. It's a good car though...
I never saw MS as offroading vehicle. Its a Car for salaried and budget people only. Jitna video me dikahaya hain its more than enough for it. So keep up Suzuki for your wonderful cars but I personally wish if u can bring some car above 2000cc capacity.

Well, it's a good first look, but we'd expect an awd to do a bit more than what this test has shown. I've done more than this in my trip to Ladakh on my Hyundai Venue. Imagine a rocky uphill track, with small to large flat rocks and not very stable. That's the kind you'd encounter in the off-road sections of Ladakh. By road, you could do it in a fwd, but not the uphill off-road sections.
