  • Construction of the airplane's Vertical Stabilizer gets completed with the final assembly after priming the parts and riveting them together. This completes construction of the first part for my Vans RV-14a aircraft.

Thanks for that! Glad you are enjoying them. Are YOU painting it? What do you have?

Workmanship looks great! Very motivating for my soon to start build. I’ve been debating the prime/no prime question and if yes, then which one. I like what I see in your choice.

That’s great that you’re getting close. Definitely a lot of priming options. See quite a few people just opt for rattle cans of self etching primer from the hardware store… probably a lot easier than all the paint gun setup stuff. IDK… I also stumbled on to Stewart Systems. It’s a no VOC option so you don’t need all the protective gear… from what I’ve read the only downside is that you need to let it cure for several days before you work with it… but depending on your work schedule. That might not be an issue

Ahem. Excuse me, but it’s been a couple weeks since this video has come out. We’re ready for part 4. 😅
    Just sayin….

I know… got a little tied up with life :). I’m doing the rudder in one video so was waiting until it’s complete… which it almost is. Initial cuts, fit, prep and prime are done and riveting started yesterday. Should be complete later in the week and then a few days to edit video.
