I love all the places to where you travel, but these quirky trust properties are my absolute favorite. The cottage in Devon was the first video I ever saw and I have been hooked since! This place is so serene. And what a nice time of year to visit and see the bluebells!
As much as I love the grand chateaus of France…..they are overwhelming. Give me a comfy cozy English cottage in the countryside for pure relaxation anytime.
There are actually around 500,000 grade 1 and grade 2, listed buildings in Britain, listing meaning they are of historic value and protected by law, so they cannot be altered such as this one. I grew up in a house built in the 1600s, grade 1 listed and we were not even allowed to change the window’s to make the house warmer, as the windows were 350 years old and lead lined. It’s almost impossible to get permission to alter and if you buy a grade listed house you have to comply or you are in big trouble, because of these laws they have preserved amazing houses such as this.
I am currently recovering from major surgery and as such, temporarily house bound. Thank goodness I discovered your channel! You have taken me on countless, wonderful adventures both in the UK and Germany, shown me delightful home interior design and don't get me started on the cakes, wow! You two are a breath of fresh air, thank you for sharing your precious memories. Xx

Life is chaotic here in uk unfortunately as well, not much green spaces left as too many houses being built, would love to build a tiny house no land here at realistic prices

I'm afraid the chaos and stress of life is indeed universal and timeless. Hallo Kirsten und Jörg, das ist wirklich ein wunderschönes Kurzurlaubsdomizil. Ich mag mittelalterliche Häuser, diese Türen waren wunderschön anzusehen, dazu das Knarzen des Bodens. Die Ruhe, das Vogelgezwitscher am Ende des Videos und die Glockenblumenpracht. Da kann man wirklich abschalten und entspannen. Vor allem diese lila Pracht ist etwas für das Auge. Bei uns im Schwarzwald blüht gerade überall der Klee im Wald, so dass der Boden weiß ist, das ist zwar auch schön, aber diese Farben waren einfach fantastisch.

This is so wonderful. Bluebells glorious like in a secret garden. Growing up in the U.K., I absolutely loved reading fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen and Grimm bro’s.. and have read them to my children too! This cottage could be in any one of those stories. das ist wirklich ein wunderschönes Kurzurlaubsdomizil. Ich mag mittelalterliche Häuser, diese Türen waren wunderschön anzusehen, dazu das Knarzen des Bodens. Die Ruhe, das Vogelgezwitscher am Ende des Videos und die Glockenblumenpracht. Da kann man wirklich abschalten und entspannen. Vor allem diese lila Pracht ist etwas für das Auge. Bei uns im Schwarzwald blüht gerade überall der Klee im Wald, so dass der Boden weiß ist, das ist zwar auch schön, aber diese Farben waren einfach fantastisch.
So toll, dass es dir gefällt, vielen lieben Dank!

It would be so hard to say goodbye to such a romantic and cozy cottage as this is. I could live there forever, it is as magical on the outside as he inside. The woods and bluebells are magical ! Beautiful china set for breakfast, and I think those asparagus fancy for lunch with those Scottish trout that looks like salmon in Canada. Peaceful cottage for the weekend, reading and writing as well as walking around those pretty blue bells in the garden. Thanks Kirsten and Joerg for the tour!
Stunning scenery. I don't believe I've ever seen that many bluebells before and amongst the trees it was truly magical. Love seeing all these Trust homes. Makes me want to come back to England. Hopefully, one day I will.

🛏️ The guest rooms are lovely. The old beams, plastered walls, & vaulted ceiling are handsome. The bunkroom makes me think of a 🚂 train compartment... compact, but sweet.

This is so wonderful. Bluebells glorious like in a secret garden. Growing up in the U.K., I absolutely loved reading fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen and Grimm bro’s.. and have read them to my children too! This cottage could be in any one of those stories. The buildings of that era were so solid, quirky almost hobbit like I feel! Perfect for fairies!!! Truly magical. Such fun to explore the surroundings.
