After looking at all the versions of the RX78 out there, the OYW design is my favourite. But maybe its just my GBO bias. I hope it gets a reprint soon.
Today I'll get my first Gundam (similar to this but different size) and I hope that will be cool too. I'm looking forward to repainting this weekend. :)
i deadass bought this kid less than a year ago and my local place had like 4, I likes the core fighter part and how it had a core block. It was definitely cool but I painted it for shits and giggles with my airbrush and it came out stunning
Ahh the good old RX-78 OYW, or RX-78 1.5 ver. 1.5 as I like to call it. I would definitely agree that it's tied with the ver ka for best looking RX-78-2. I'm a huge rx-78 proponent as well, as you can see by my profile picture I've had for over 8 years.
@@markkirk7305 same thing with the Ver Ka Sazabi. So I got a ver Ka Nu, took the hip joints, and modded them into Sazabi's legs. Now it can bust poses just as good as the RG.
Second attempt to respond. First attempt "disappeared" after I posted it. Shorter version: I ordered "preorder" kits and "availble" kits in two separate orders, days apart. Figured, as two orders, they'd ship separately. Nope. The "available" kits shipped together with the "preorder" kits, 3 months after the "preorder" kits came in, or 8 months after the initial order. Spent 5 months emailing him to find out why the "available" kits weren't shipping, no response, my posts on the facebook page about it were deleted too. Yes, everything eventually arrived in good condition, but when you see long time customers posting on facebook about how responsive Side7 is to emails, and how they got their "available" kits faster, it rubs you wrong.

This was my very first gunpla back in 2018. Such a great kit.
These old kits are a bit finicky, but still look great in many cases. They just need a little more love to shine.
a couple of months ago people were using these as paper weights I kept seeing listings for this kit luckily got my hands on one
That box art is nice!

Anytime you spend building is always a good time ! Have fun
I have this kit and it turned out pretty good in my favour

Very nice! I’ve just entered the painting phase now since I finish the review
Those legs and some of the inner frame are from the RX-78 1.5, it's why I like to call this the rx-78 1.5 ver. 1.5

Its detailed yes, but those damn ball-joint hip kills it for me. It coulda been a contender for "best RX-78" but that's definitely a nasty flaw to it.
Yeah man I get it
I’m finished the build and review done and it’s a drawback on an otherwise nice kit

"laughs in 1.5 casval gundam" yeah... Those where pretty hard to get
the chosen gundam
I need that Casval's 3.0 to get reprinted. Have you seen the prices on those lately?
second kit I ever built, at the time it was apparently much less rare.
It’s just more that you don’t see them in typical hobby shops I think
Not sure why anyone would want it over the new one though. 3.0 is a fantastic kit.
I’ve already done the 3.0 previously but I like the looks of this one over the 3.0 which is basically a big RG
Did a random search tonight and got one for $50
Lucky!!
I kind of wonder if side seven exports is having issues cause he doesn't reply to my messages about an order.
If I'm being honest I've only heard bad things from them

oh boohoohoo.
So my personal experience has been nothing but good including kids I have bought myself and not just received for review
