Nice tour of Cha-Am Wayne. It brought back great memories of a day out with the wife's family probably 15 to 20 years back and it does not appear to have changed too much. The beach itself we were swimming using big floating tyres and then hanging out in one of those areas under a canopy on deck chairs and seats eating and drinking. Fantastic day out and drove back to their farm at the end of the day. Super popular with the Thais on weekends. Loved it. Cheers man, really enjoyed this video 🤩
My guess is that in the end you will find that the Hua Hin/Cha Am area is a great place to live or weekend getaway from Bangkok. You can have a normal life like going to the grocery store, see a movie at Blueport, eat dinner off the ocean, play golf, relax on the beach, and have a normal life., even dating is normal. It’s not the place for exciting nightlife, snorkeling reefs, or anything extravagant. It’s extremely livable though and by being somewhat boring it remains very safe and livable. You want more nightlife you can take a cheap air conditioned bus to Bangkok and live it up, or hop on a flight at the Hua Hin airport and fly to a Chiang Mai.
@@WalkAboutWayne I was in Pai for a week and escaped before the day before the last rain flood hit. Really enjoyed it with all the views and green landscape. For me to invest 8,000 miles from home I had to be on the ocean. Seven days away from the ocean makes one weak.
Hey Wayne I just heard my name while watching this, cheers man I appreciate the shout out and remembering me calling your name in the mall. Hope you had a fantastic day in Cha am amigo
Cha Am is cheaper then Hua Hin for rentals as well. There's much more to Cha Am than your vlog (I know you can't cover everything!) like Fishermans Village, loads of restaurants there. Not much night life apart from Soi Bus Stop, which is the small bar area. Main difference between Cha Am and Hua Hin beach is Hua Hin beach has limited access points to the beach, whereas Cha Am beach can be accessed anywhere along it's length. I'm enjoying this series Wayne, proper job, thanks
Yes cheaper option. I've heard it's only a small place, I had a quick look around the town, looks cool. I'll defo be back. Thank you Tanya, it's nearly time to finish the series now but I have a couple more vlogs.
Nice one Wayne. Cha-am is a nice spot. I do prefer PKK and surrounds down that way. Hopefully you get a chance to visit another time. I'm dying to know about the balls you ate. Which does your arsh prefer the old style or new style balls? 😉
I thought 2,000 a night for those bungalows was a tad on the expensive side too mate. But for 2 couples it would be ok for a quick weekend away from it all. Funny you being in Cha-Am, iv'e been on the lookout for vlogers posting vids about that area and i found one the other night that showed a few very nice condo's for between 6-9K a month one street back from where you got your green tea. Worth a thought and your'e not too far out of Hua Hin either. Your views and thoughts are very much appreciated and noteworthy Wayne. Many thanks for your effort and keep up the good work mate. Cheers 👍👍
Cheers mate! Yeah I didn't like the layout of them bungalows, great location on the beach though. I've seen a few places for 5000 a month, so lots of options around. Thanks again mate .
😂😂😂 The only vlogger I know who can fit the chorus to The Littlest Hobo in. Your showing your age there Wayne. You've give me a ear worm though man I can't get the song out of my head.
It's turned into a bit of a theme song for my channel now? I loved the littlest Hobo growing up That tune is always in my head when I go somewhere new . Haha cheers mate
Prachuap Khiri Khan, place to be for beautiful beaches and viewpoints...^^ Haven't gone there yet but i sure will the next time i'm in Thailand...^^ Cheers m8...keep up the great work...loving them vids.
When I first visited Thailand, I would stay in Ratchaburi. Lovely slow train ride from there through Phetchaburi to the seaside at Cha-am. It's been a favourite since then. Really laid back beach resort - unlike many others, with lots of additional attractions if you know where to look. E.g. the mountain walk at Khao Nang Phanthurat is spectacular. Last time there I asked about those old rental bicycles. They wanted the customer's passport for security, unlike before. Isn't worth the risk of them losing it just to rent a clapped out bike
I would like to ride the train, it looks an amazing way to travel around this area. Most places take a passport city now, I'd be shocked if they wanted my passport 🤣. No chance!!
You can find rooms for as low as 500 baht per night along that road facing the ocean. Festivals in Cha Am will fill up every room to the point people sleep in their cars on the beach. It’s a fun area and gets packed some weekends.
Hua hin beaches are mainly high end resorts and residential and more private. If you want to see a little beach action in Hua Hin then go to the Sailom Hotel near Blueport Mall on a Saturday and walk to the beach. Great meals at Sailom in the back, and you should see more people playing on the beach.
Thanks for sharing! The Golden Beach hotel is a no go for me. It's run down, dirty, bad service, cold and old food at the so called breakfast buffet. There's much more to Cha Am and there are a good amount of expats living there too. There's a Lotus's and Makro as the biggest supermarkets. We might visit Cha Am again in the end of next month. But we are not sure if we go to Koh Chang instead. Have to check the weather reports when we arrive Thailand before we decide where to go.
I really liked it here Wayne it a popular place for expats to retire they have fishing every Wednesday if I remember I was there in 2016 hoi hin is better but accommodation is cheap there but it’s more for when your over 50 relaxing vibe and hoi hin isn’t far I loved getting rice porridge in the morning I did like it here Wayne it hasn’t been spoilt by the tourist and those houses are 10 000 per month 7000 in 2016 I loved it here the girls are cheaper if you get my meaning 😂
Good look at Cha-Am Wayne. My friend JC (retirecheapJC) owns a condo just off the beach and from his videos it seems that Cha-Am is pretty affordable long-term if you look a bit. He seemed to prefer living there over Hua Hin.
Cha-Am is cheaper than Hua Hin yes mate, some really cheap places. I think I preferred Hua Hin though , but Cha-Am looked great. Love JC, one of the first vloggers I ever watched. Cheers 🍻

Nice one buddy! I hope to be back in Cha-Am to check it out more .
Glad you popped along to Cha-am, definitely a different feel - more beachy and somewhat more Thai & laid back. 😎👍
