Made it a point to visit the Faroes during a summer trip to Iceland. Absolutely worth every penny it takes to get there. 3 days was far too short, but the memories and photos will endure for me and my family/friends. It is a real treasure in the Atlantic

I use to go from Denmark to Iceland onboard ferry Norröna and, as this ship stops in Tórshavn, that is a good opportunity to spend a week visiting Faroe with my own vehicle and my drone. Faroes Islands is one of the beautiful islands in the world. It is one of my favorite places in the world. I visited the Faroes Islands in July 2015. It is so much green and mountainous terrain with impressive fjords. The weather is so changeable (rain and sunny). I took a local bus and boat to travel on the islands. Hiking was fun exhilarating and inspired by stunning mountainous island landscapes with nested coastal villages.
There's a car ferry that sails from Denmark, through the Faroe Islands (stopping there of course) to Iceland. That's how I saw them. Great option if you want to visit all three places on one trip.
Hal Heywood haha winter can be really cold in my country. But we also have a drastic change of temperature between winter and summer. In the summer temperature can be up to 40°C and more. I hate summer. Right now it's minus and I am happy. I definitely want to visit! Haha thank you 😅😊

So for example someone who travels from Hamburg, GER to Torshavn will not need to go through passport control upon arrival and vice versa. Of course, non-EU citizens traveling from outside the Schenghen Area will need to show a valid passport and visa (if necessary).

Simply not as impressive as the Staten Islands (U.S.A.), especially scenically (our municipal landfill is now an unrivaled international monument to idiotic urban planning), but the gap is narrowing every year and, mark my words, the Faroes will leave Canarsie and Hunts Point in its magnificent dust by the year 2040.
I should add that there is, in reality, only one Staten Island. As far as culture goes, it all depends on what you want out of life. You can get all you want in Manhattan, which is also the center of Assh*le America, an eventual intolerable existence that rewards about 5% and screws the other 95%.

I should add that there is, in reality, only one Staten Island. As far as culture goes, it all depends on what you want out of life. You can get all you want in Manhattan, which is also the center of Assh*le America, an eventual intolerable existence that rewards about 5% and screws the other 95%.

I wanted to travel to Faroe due to Eivör Palsdottir and the nature landscape.
Due to the wale killing, Faroe Islands are now a "No Go Area" for me.
So I take it you go to no country where animals are killed by locals for food and tradition. A thousend whales is really very little compared to the amount of animals killed in other countries.

@@toggy1198 LANGUAGE BARRIER!😀 I want to move to either Norway or Iceland once I'm old enough. But I don't want to sound and be treated like someone who doesn't belong there. I speak German quite well but when I am in Germany or Austria they still switch to English once I mention I'm from the Netherlands. And I know German for 1\3 of my life already... So trying to become "native" Icelandic or Norwegian will be very challenging I think, since I have to start from the very beginning...
