Once at a Mojave 3 show I shouted out "We love you Neil" and he said into the mic "I love you too" :)
Being inspired by and compared to Nick Drake is the highest praise. Thankfully, Neil is still making music. Poor Nick’s depression got the better of him and he left us far too soon.

I had to check my Nick Drake box set to make sure I could not find this anywhere. The similarity is incredible. Still, from Neil Halstead, I see this as a homage. Neil is a marvellous artist, with a great sense of heartbreaking emotions, as was Nick. This song is outstandingly beautiful and should be taken for its own merit.
Perfect...he made my life better with Slowdive, I liked Mojave 3, and now he makes me feel good with his fantastic songs. Do we have a new Nick Drake? Maybe not, but he's close. Love him

Neil, ive found about you through Slowdive. Few years ago I came across 'Crazy for you' but just lately decided to explore more. I cant describe my feelings when i listen to those songs... specially now at this stage of my life. And funny fact, Ive found out today we share the same birthday date but im from 88 =) I think you are great artist and thank you for sharing your talent with us.

I don't think it's a million miles away from a track like Spanish Air. An acoustic re-imagining of that (and other Slowdive tracks) could have a similar vibe to his solo material.
When he started singing I immediately thought Nick Drake. Anyhow, maybe he didn't mean to do this, but somewhere in the lyrics he says something about blues running the game. Coinkydink! Whatever, I enjoy his music.
