I love the fact that every year for some reason I find myself back to this song.. I first heard it 6 years ago and cried like anything on a dark dark night.. I have learnt to smile and not show my sadness any further... But few times I find this song.. I cry.. I feel better.. I feel lighter..

And is cherished by all his fans. Unfortunately he’s very underrated and even a lot of slowdive fans haven’t listened to some of his solo music. His solo work is probably more of an inspiration than any of the other work he’s done. I’ve just started writing music like this so it’d be great if you check it out

well they played a show together years ago and Jack asked if he'd like to switch labels, after being on 4AD for so many years. (which since 4AD has kind of gone downhill that makes sense) Neil's been around since 1990, with the band Slowdive (pioneering shoegazer music) and later Mojave 3 (mazzy star-style americana) his influences are closer to Nick Drake and English folk. but you can see why Jack would like it! (also similar would be Mark Kozelek from Sun Kil Moon/ Red House Painters)
