    Well done 👍 Smart to replace the rivets!

      Thx! Wanted the speaker to be easy to remove the next time I upgrade them. Although I think the rivets should hold the speaker a lot better

      True that! Going to replace system with the JL Audio system soon! Think to put rivets with threads next upgrade think they will have a OEM look and then you never have to drill them out 😎

      Like that idea 👌, might put the threaded rivets with JLs next time myself

    Hi zaki garage, do you know how to remove the Lower door trim? The trim that runs under the window operation buttons and grab bar?

    • @ZakiGarage
      @ZakiGarage  4 года назад

      I've removed the lower trim at 0:59, other than that piece I haven't tried to remove any other lower trims.

      @@ZakiGarage sorry I mean the piano black wood trim just above where your hand is

      Looks like its clipped in, you'll need a trim removal tool to pray it out starting from the front. Be very gentle with it, it can crack very easily I've cracked a similar trim piece on my BMW before.

    I would use threaded rivet nuts inserts they come in many different sizes. Once installed just thread the screw in to hold the speaker. It looks cleaner and much better than those pain in the ass rivets.

      Yeah agree, I've just started using the threaded rivets recently and they are much better 👌.

    What year is your car? I have a 2011 E350 4Matic, is it the same process?

    • @ZakiGarage
      @ZakiGarage  3 года назад

      Its a 2011 E300 non 4Matic. I would assume its the same unless you have an upgraded sound sys from factory, that might differ a bit 🤷‍♂️. But I wouldn't recommend getting factory speakers, I would go with any good quality aftermarket speaker like I did here ruclips.net/video/8ZVrJ7RaTs0/видео.html . All 4 of my factory speakers failed within a year of each other.

    That feeling when the box costs more than the speaker itself).

      Totally agree, and they are overpriced. They will be upgraded once another one fails.
