The "second singer," Miku, may be the busiest artist in Japan. In addition to writing almost all the lyrics (including these), she has a side gig where she sings lead under the name "Cluppo." (New Cluppo single due to drop, any day, now.) She also has a signature guitar that gets pretty high marks. (Oh, and she's a well-known horseracing enthusiast and poker player.) Band-Maid was her conception, and she recruited lead guitarist Kanami as the first to sign on. Kanami knew Akane, who knew MISA, and we had a 4-piece. But Miku quickly shelved the idea of singing lead, here, knowing her voice wasn't really suited for the forefront of a rock band. So they found Saiki, and it's always been these five.
Knowing a little about Japanese culture, I wonder how bruised the egos of the men Miku eliminated from that Poker Tournament on her way to 2nd Place.
@@outwest1014 - I love the fact she did this! Do you know whether it was her first tournament?
She is known to be a master negotiator, and is constantly analyzing the horse races, so I can see how she could be skilled at poker.
Her sharpness and wisdom at things like this do eerily seem like a constantly aware 810 year old entity...
Band-Maid is the full package. Crazy talent, energy and Akane hits the drums so hard but so precise. Wait til you watch "Daydreaming" official music video......it's a masterpiece of a song. Good stuff here Emma, keep the Maids Coming! ....they never disappoint.

A-Ka-Ne (drums) is half-human/half-gorilla. That is her persona. She eats bananas and ramen, Po! With Akane consistently in the pocket, Misa (Bass) can stand out and play lead bass. Selfless, Po!

This is one of the most talented bands you will ever hear.
Drummer Akane is hardly tiny; she is 5'6". OTOH, guitarists Kanami (5'1") and Miku (5') are indeed tiny. Bassist MISA is 5'8" and lead vocalist Saiki is 5'4".
Yeah 5'6" is decent. That's about the average for women in my country.
It's been done but the vocals on the song puzzle are really incredible and extremely difficult. They have 3 versions floating out there but it's safest to do the regular live version if you can find it.

That is where you can find the rare acoustic version with only Saiki plus Kanami (lead guitarist) on acoustic guitar and occasional backing vocals (really rare!). Anemone was in the same short mini-set. These are fairly anguished songs and Saiki wrings the heart of the listener!

I wish the Zepp Tokyo version of "Rock in Me" was on RUclips. That one shows how Miku is every bit the front-woman that Saiki is.

I was one before second but my comment was hidden (again) so i deleted it. Saiki knows a mystical technique that enables her to absorb oxygen thru her skin....probably.😏

Akane, drums, and MISA, bass, are alumni of The Tokyo School of Music. The school is a 2 year vocational school's charter is to educate/train musicians for the Japanese Music industry.
for awesome vocals live you would want to listen to wonderland for one of the easy ones to find. Puzzle live acoustic is my favorite but it has to be found off of youtube

Amusing little side note. Kanami sat down in front of the monitor when Miku's turn to sing came up. Because Miku forgot her lyrics at a previous show. Miku was fighting off a laugh during her turn.
Love how they play with each other on stage. Like trying to make Akane go off beat by making faces at her.
Interesting. Do you know which show Miku forgot the lyrics?
@@TomClark-Futoura it was the night before this show. They did this venue 2 days straight with the 2nd day being recorded. Miku messed up the 1st day.
@@mr559 I wonder if the producers used parts of both shows to make the final release. I mean, there had to be great footage from the first show, right. I'm glad they kept Miku's sit-down fall after their jam together in Domination.
